Excellent holiday in a very good hotel. The food was good and rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day. Clean towels were provided daily if required. The location of the hotel is next the beach and very near to the Marina. The very nice "free" attraction of Paloma Park is also only 20 minutes stroll. We would return to The Hotel Triton.

Just back from Best Triton- Beautiful location, lovely gardens and swimming pools. Hotel lacks any personal service, The staff at reception at check in were rude and on arrival the room was not ready. No apology was offered and we were told to come back in 40mins. This was after travelling for more than 8hours. We sat in reception and returned to the desk 40mins later and asked were the rooms ready and we were handed the card for the room again no apology was offered for having to wait. On check out when we handed back our room card the receptionist said "thats fine" no thank you or have a good journey or hope you enjoyed your stay. There was a queue for the restaurant every evening along the corridor and up two sets of stairs where people had to stand. The food selection was average and the food often luke warm. One chef cooked at the show cooking which meant that there were big queue and this was not high season. The icecream was right beside the "hot food".

Dear Guest,

Although we sincerely lament reading that your stay at our Tritón Hotel did not live up to your expectations, we would like to thank you for sharing your observations with us because this gives us the opportunity to make improvements and thus offer all our guests a better service in different departments.

We are grateful for your highlight on our location, with beaches and leisure options within easy reach, and our lovely gardens and pool areas.

We sincerely regret your disappointment with the lack of courtesy at check in and check out times. We try to make up the rooms as soon as possible in order to give rooms quickly. We realize that our guests have been travelling several hours form their countries , but unfortunately, sometimes rooms cannot be ready early morning or when all customers arrived to the hotel. Please, accept our sincere apologies. Nevertheless we took good note of your comment we will forward them to our Front Desk Manager.

Regarding the queue for the restaurant in the evening, just say that our dinner service starts at 7.00 PM and the most part of our guest prefer to go to have dinner at this time. This is the reason why you could see the queue. Fortunately our Restaurant is huge (about 450 seats) and we do not have problems with queues.

Thank you once more for your visit and the courtesy of your time; we hope to see you again in the near future and to have the opportunity to offer you a very enjoyable experience.

Kind Regards from Benalmádena.

Lots of positive points, and they do outweigh the negatives from our 2 week stay over the kids easter holidays from school. A nice hotel in a central location, friendly staff, frequented by many nationalities, but a nice clientele. Many Brits are saga holiday makers, ie senior citizens, but there are plenty families too:-

Rooms - a fair size, 2 double beds and a large balcony. Rooms, however, can be noisy as the hotel is located on a busy road. Some free water and fizzy drinks in the fridge on arrival. There are no kettles, so bring your own if you fancy a cuppa in your room. Air conditioning was feeble and didn't cool the room at all. Bathrooms are generous in size, plenty towels and toiletries.

Pools and grounds - fabulous! Kids in pools every day, and although a tad cold, were fine once you had passed the point of no return! 2 pools and 2 kiddies pools to choose from, and the biggest plus for us was that there were plenty sun beds. In the entire 2 weeks we never had to "bagsy" a bed because they were plentiful. Although the sign said no inflatables, no one seems to mind the kids taking them in. Lovely clean, well maintained grounds and a gate leads directly on to the beach. You need your swipe card to get in and out so security is good. There is a spa which costs 7eur per person, kids are not allowed.

Food - always a good choice on. Though I stress the bacon and sausage at breakfast is awful! Gala evening was impressive, and generally we all found something we liked every meal time. WIne is 8eur a bottle which isn't bad value and a large water a couple of euros in the restaurant.

Bars - 2,80eur a pint in the hotel bar. Several local bars offering cheaper drinks. Ole Square underneath the hotel is a lovely spot for an evening drink. Even the marina was offering competitively priced drinks in its bars, we would get a very large brandy and a delicious coffee at the Italian restaurant for 2,50eur.

Entertainment - Caters for the older generation, but we did have the mini disco starting up a few nights as it got nearer the Easter weekend. Lots of activities throughout the day, shooting, boules etc. The flamenco show once a week is great.

The main issue of our stay was that all 5 of us went down with tummy bugs, all 5 of us. 4 of us went down with it within hours of each other, whilst the youngest went down with it 2 days later. Talking to another British mum a few days later, she said exactly the same thing and within the same time frame as us. She had also talked to several couples who, unfortunately, had been dealt with the same fate. I don't think the food was the issue as we all ate different dishes every night. The hotel seems on surface to be clean too. However, somehow, this bug took hold and it was extremely unpleasant. We made sure that for 48 hours after the kids kept out of the pool and we constantly anti-bac wiped our hands but whos to say other folk were as vigilant as us.

In conlusion, had we not been ill, this would have been my perfect holiday, but being poorly slightly swayed my opinion. Loved the area, and we will definitely go back.

Room Tip: 2 blocks, the less mobile would be best in the main block.

Just back from staying here for a week. Hotel in brillant location it was spotless staff were friendly only problem was no Air condition was on which I felt it should have when weather was 28 degrees. The restaurant had a good selection of food there was plenty to choose from we were all Half board. Out of the 7 nights 4 night was fantastic food wise.. I felt the chief cooking the breakfast and dinner at night could have done with a hand. Standing in queues does not suit me waiting .. And felt that some meats eggs pancakes could have been cooked more .. X

We are currently staying at the Best Triton and it is our third stay. This was to be a special holiday with our daughter, son in law and 2 little grandaughters aged 2 and 6 months. We booked 7 months ago requesting connecting rooms so we could sit in one room while babies slept in the other. We emailed twice to make sure this request was met. We booked rooms with sea views. We arrived late at night and very tired to find one room stank of smoke, neither room has sea view - in fact our rooms have a view of the car park which is noisy. We don't have connecting rooms either.
My daughter was in tears. The staff member at reception said it made no difference that we booked 7 months ago to make sure we had our requests met. Room allocation was pot luck. He told us to phone him 12 days before arrival and he'd do what he could. Someone was sent up with a spray to deal with the smell of smoke. We have been here 24 hours now and the room still stinks. the air conditioning is very poor and the room is stuffy. We have been offered 2 rooms on a higher floor with sea views but some distance apart. We cant leave 2 babies in a room alone. The whole point of this holiday with connecting rooms was to enable our daughter and her family to have a holiday after the birth of their second baby and have the children sleeping in the bedroom next door while we could sit in our room.
This is a 4 star hotel. There are no kettles in the rooms and no hot water in the dining room in the evenings to help with baby feeds. Our rooms were stuffy and the booking system needs serious organising.

Room Tip: There is no way to choose a room. We were told this by the staff themselves. it is pot luck so it do...

Dear Guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for your preference in selecting Triton Hotel for your holidays in Benalmádena area and for the time you spent to write your impressions about your stay as it is our best way to know where we can still improve in our daily services. We also appreciate you reaching out to us on Tripadvisor to notify us of your concerns regarding your rooms.

Furthermore, we deeply lament reading that you were not fully satisfied with the room we accommodated you in. In this period of the year the majority of our guests are long stayers and we have few connecting rooms, so it is extremely difficult to please this kind of requests sometimes. In this kind of situations we always try to offer an alternative accommodation. We realize that we have failed to meet your expectations about your holidays, please, accept our sincere apologies.

We took note of all the negative points mentioned by you and we will take the measures to improve them in the near future.

Once again thank you for your visit and the courtesy of your time; our goal is to assure our guests feel comfortable and fully enjoy their visits. We are eager to regain your confidence during another occasion if you gave us that chance.

Kind Regards from Benalmádena.

A very nice hotel, very clean and spacious bed rooms, lovely gardens and swimming pools ,and lots of things going on both during the day and the evenings. The menu was extensive, everything you could wish for, the only down side was that the meals were luke warm, when we mentioned this to waiteress we were shown the microwave, and told we could warm up our meal. We would go back to the hotel again but probably only b&b.

My husband and I stayed at the Triton 1st 2 weeks in April 2014 on half board basis and really enjoyed our stay in this Hotel. This Hotel is very International with French, German, Dutch, Spanish and British guests to name a few. It has a great location, right on the beach promenade and near the Marina. I think the Hotel has the most attractive gardens of all the Hotels in Benalmadina. The outside glass lifts give you great views along the coastline as you ascend and the Hotel staff are all friendly. We have stayed in Benalmadina twice before but 1st time staying in the Triton but we knew where it was. I emailed the reception about one week before arrival and requested a high floor room in the main building (as there is also an Annex building) facing West and overlooking the pool area and gardens. Beatriz Alvarado from reception emailed me back saying they would try and meet our request. We were allocated room 528 and it was a great room for us as it overlooked the pools and gardens and had a sea view and extra large balcony where we got the sun from 2pm till sunset. We also had a very large bathroom and the maid leaves lots of toiletries freebies every day. There were 2 almost double beds, flat screen TV and a fridge with complimentary water and soft drinks. The food was good and hot with show cooking every night and a Gala Dinner on Friday evening with a great selection of Parma Hams and large prawns and free drink of local sherry. Desserts and cheeses were good selection with plenty of fresh fruit at the evening meal. Beware of the hot plates in the hot cabinets as they very hot but there are paper napkins to hold the plates. Only complaint for the restaurant manager is can you please put the soup bowls beside the soup urns nearest the restaurant door as the nearest soup bowls are down at the desserts! The indoor spa is 7 euros per person and is good value as there are 2 jacquizzes, heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna, plunge tub and roating showers. The outdoor pools were a bit cold but once in were okay to swim in and there are plenty of sun beds available aroung the pool terraces. Entertainment girl was good as she spoke several languages and there is different entertainment every night although if you want to get a seat you need to be there by 9.00pm and shows start at 9.30pm- 10.00pm.. The back of the Hotel looks onto Ole Square which is attractive with a fountain in the middle and several bars and restaurants with Bar Ole being the most attractive bar in this square and owners Richard and Annet make you feel very welcome and serve good cocktails, beer and wine. Nice for a change if you want to chill out with some soft music and chat.
Note for the Manager----the maid takes away the soap every day from the bathroom and it has hardly been used. Must cost the Hotel a lot of unnecesary money and maybe it would be cheaper to have liquid soap dipensers in the bathrooms. We would definately recommend Hotel Triton and would return again to this Hotel.
