Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Bali with a group of 13 women split between 4 studio rooms. One of the largest accommodations I have stayed in with 3 or 4 adults to a room, separate mezzanine bed area and then large sofa bed/kitchenette area meant plenty of room for the 3 or 4 to a room.

Room had bath with shower over, sprayed at an off angle but was always good pressure and plentiful hot water. Kitchen had kettle, coffee maker, 2 hot plates and large fridge all as part of room, which was a bonus. Nice size balcony that 4 fitted on fine.
Only small issues (not in any way a spoiler) was that each room only had 2 towels and it took hours to get more - although they did arrive by the evening), one room had a broken toilet on arrival that was fixed promptly but had no full length mirror - they survived!

Location is great, close to the beach, bars and shops, could not fault it and had no issues at all with the "hill", this is a little steep but pretty short in length (and we are from the flatest part of England!) and had no issues stomping up it in our high heels.

Plenty of good cheap food nearby and easy access to shops and taxis if you want to head further field.

Highly recommend if you are looking to travel as a group and want value for money from the rooms (after all you only sleep and shower really) as plenty of room for 3 or 4.
Oh pools were nice but chilly I am a beach girl anyway :-)

Almost forgot the sarnies sold at the poolside restaurant were ACE, fresh grilled chicken etc and great value too.

All in all a great choice for our purposes

Just got back from a long weekend in one of the self catering apartments at the Hotel Bali. The apartment was fab - just like the pictures one the website! We were four girls sharing and the apartment was plenty big enough, very clean with comfortable beds, a lovely balcony and sea view. There were two pools - one on each side of the hotel - the big one was near to a childrens play area and mini-golf and was family orientated, with a baby pool - the other was on the other side of the hotel and mainly attracted groups or older people without children. We didn't eat in the main restuarant but spoke to some others who were doing so and they said the food was good - we had meals at lunch time from the poor side cafe and it was lovely. 'Cardiac hill' is not a problem - you can walk a longer way round on a much easier hill if you wish, or if you are out in town or at the Marina you shouldn't pay more than 6Euros for a taxi back. Also, the hotels on the flat part of town are on a very busy main road, which is noisy or directly on the beach, which is another hill down to the seafront! The main hotel bar is good, plenty going on and a good mix of people. Well worth the money!

26 march - 09 april 2010. we stayed for easter at the bali half board.
dissapointing entrance at reception-not very grand, we hired a car and car parking charges were reasonable.Swimming pools very old and in need of major refurb.
Not alot to do there if youre with kids and all inclusive. We were half board.
Food was nice but same most nights. Breakfast was nice. When going into restraunt turn right and find a table down that part of the restraunt. Much quieter and food comes out fresh there first.
However the coffee machine, toast machine, and orange juice machine are all located together one one table..so expect the odd mexican stand off whilst waiting!

We had to move room after our first night, some previous guest left there smelly underwear on the top shelf of the wardrobe, live wires hanging out the bathroom wall, and the room was extremely small.
Our second room was alot bigger. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels, however dusting on units and under the beds was an issue.
The room walls are VERY thin..so expect to hear all of your neighbours moans and groans...
Staff throughout the hotel were all very friendly. The building is dated and was pherhaps in the 1960/70s great but its sadly showing its age in alot of places.

Evening entertainment was ok. one half of the room is the stage, bingo, singing and acts, whils the other half has a large tv on full blast for football..so expect the same atmosphere as a working mens club!!
Games room poor, not much in there, and can be expensive..2 euros for a game of pool!

WE asked for an iron at reception - deposit required of course..but they do not posses ironing boards...this would have been a great help..so maybe they might invest!!

stayed at this hotel over the easter holidays with my little girl (aged one and a half) and had an absolute BALL.
The food was BRILLIANT and there was always an excellent choice every night. It was always HOT and the waiters and waitresses were always very friendly and helpful.... Yes there is a microwave in the restaurant and yes there is a hand santiser at the door as previously written on here - but the hotel is completely THE OPPOSITE from what I had been expecting.

My baby girl also had a fab time in the restaurant and despite going through a fussy stage - she always found something she liked too and the waiting staff were always willing to help out with her and find a high chair and whatever else she needed.

The hotel was a good base to see the south coast of Spain, Gibraltar and Morroco. We went out most days and only stayed in Benalmadena once or twice during the week. The hill from the main road up to the hotel is an absolute NIGHTMARE if you aren't very fit, are tired or have a buggy or wheelchair with you. But, there is a taxi rank around the corner and you can also go UP the way (which isn't far or steep at all in comparison to the hill from the road up to the entrance) and you will find yourself in REAL SPAIN. There are also normal service bus stops around the corner from the hotel and a 10 min walk will take you to the RENFE CERCANIAS train station. There are trains every half hour to Malaga and Fuengirola and you can connect at Malaga for other locations.

The entertainment programme works on a two week cycle and it was very good. We didn't see much of the daytime shows but there was always something on for all ages. There are also a few different swimming pools and a kiddies play area which we used once or twice. The bars are quite reasonably priced too.

Our hotel room had a walled balcony so it was safe for my baby to go out on to.... but all balconies in Spain (especially those used by UK touroperators must meet minimum standards anyway) I noticed most of the other balconies in our building had a metal railing. The balconies of one of the other buildings had glass balconies.

We had digital TV with two English stations plus german MTV (which has lots of programmes in English with german subtitles) but as we speak Spanish anyway - we were quite happy to watch Spanish TV. There are also several large TVs in the bar showing different programmes and big football matches etc.

The bathroom was clean and had all the basics plus a hairdryer. The cleaners were also very friendly and happy to chat away as they worked and carry out any extra cleaning you needed.

The rooms have safes but not fridges -which I beleive you can hire - we decided not to.

My only gripe about this hotel was the steep hill up from the main road and the beach which WAS NOT STATED in the Thomson brochure.

We ended up going up the other way to Arroyo de Miel to avoid it and only going up and down the hill once a day when possible. Most of our excursions were picked up at the Riviera hotel so we double checked we had everything before leaving.

AND OUR LOVELY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOURS (or rather not so lovely) who kicked my door and shouted obscenities at me through the door because my baby girl didn't want to go to sleep and cried.

thank goodness for the lovely reception staff and security who sorted out the problem immediately.

Luckily everyone else staying at the hotel was lovely (Spanish and British and other nationalities) and treated myself and my daughter very kindly.

Definitely a holiday to remember and I would use the Bali as a base to travel the south of Spain again if the price was right.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay at the Hote Bali

We are sorry that you found reason for disappointment in the selection of food available. The hotel Bali do their utmost to provide varied and appetising menus in the dining room, as well as the snacks which are available in the bar area.

The hotel is a popular choice for British customers with many returning year after year because of the standards of food and service in the hotel.

We are sorry that they did not meet with your expectations on this ocassion.
