Was not originally booked into this hotel but was moved here due to an overbooking. This hotel is specifically for families, especially ones with small children. If you are a couple looking for a relaxing holiday then this is definitely not for you. The noise starts early in the morning and goes on all day. I found the constant noise extremely annoying and even keeping your apartment door closed does not keep it out. The rooms are very compact and very basic, definitely not what you'd expect from a 4 star rating. However if you are the type of person who books a holiday just to stay by the pool all day with your kids then this hotel is ideal.

I stayed for 5 nights at the Benalmadena Palace in a one bedroom apartment. I was staying for business, which this hotel isn't set up for but I did know that when booking (no wi-fi in rooms but this is being updated).

The hotel is of a really good standard, and definitely catered for families with young children. The facilities were spot on, the staff friendly and the hotel clean.

I ate breakfast and a couple of evening meals in the hotel. Both had plenty of choice.

As for the hill, it's not that bad if you're able and you can walk through the garage to get to floor zero.

Very disappointed with our appartment. When we arrived we were given a 0ne bed appt with a twin bed in the bedrrom. We requested a double bed which we were refused. The lady at reception was not very nice. She looks like she didnt want to be there. No smile or nothing. Had problem with bathroom taps but was fixed immediately. My husband and I ended sleeping on twp separate beds for the entire trip. Even though we join the beds together it was always end up apart. Food was ok some nights. Life gaurds by the pool alway walk around with a long face. Kids are not allowed to play with any kind of pool toys. But we tried to make it a fantastic family holiday. Even went to Gibraltar, which was an experiance. Weather was fab all 7 days.

We have just returned from an All Inclusive week at this hotel. Some of the reviews on here are very harsh. The hill up to the hotel is nothing!! So what? A little walk big deal. The hotel staff were really friendly and accommodating and the hotel itself was very clean. The pool area was excellent and the lifeguard was very vigilant. He noticed straight away when me daughter wandered over to the big pool and was there to stop her. He was very visible all day and worked hard.
The food was fine. Fresh meat, pasta and fish....a typical Spanish menu and paella. Don't know what that reviewer was on about with soggy pizza.....nothing of the sort! The breakfast was particularly good.
My kids loved the entertainment and it is all geared toward kids. And if your children are happy....that's all that matters.
The room was fine, just somewhere to base all our stuff.
All in all a great relaxing holiday. I felt my kids were very safe there and everybody looked out for one another.

Stayed here for 2 weeks All Inclusive and couldn't fault the hotel. Arrived at 12 and the room was ready which we didn't expect. We had a lovely one bed room apartment with pool view. Really clean with everything you could need - even fruit and tea on arrival. Beds made and towels changed if required daily. Breakfast was fantastic - they offered full cooked, cereals, bread/toast, pancakes, pastries, meats, cheeses and a wide variety of teas. We didn't have lunch as the breakfast filled us up. Again in the evening there was always something to choose and the soup was very tasty. I didn't see any limp salad. I must admit the childrens section didn't look up to much though.
We never had a problem getting a sun lounger, yes the best spots do get reserved early but there were always spare ones around.
On the down side the Hotel is expensive, the safe is 2.80 euros a day, a game of pool is 2 euros and there are various other games in the games room at 1 euro a time. Also the non all inclusive ice creams can cost between 1.50 & 2.95 each.
Tip - you can leave any type of card in the electric/air con slot to return to a cool room. We used a library card. - also hold your nose if you go through the garage.
In all we had a fantastic time, all the staff work so hard and the kids have a ball - the handy man must be a magician because he's at your door before you return from reporting any issues!

Lovely hotel very clean lovely food we were half board and the food was really nice lots of choice dont know where some people went when i read some reviews on here they must be very fussy! My 3 kids loved it they had things to do all day only bad thing was our card key never worked and we had to change it every day which was a joke ,but apart from that lovely holiday . If you want a sandy beach go 10 mins to torromolinos much nicer beach.

We stayed here for 2 weeks just returning last Thursday 25/08/11, we loved it, all the staff were so friendly and helpful from the early morning staff cleaning the pool area to Patrice who made the water polo sooo funny to the staff at the disco bar. We were self catering and used the back entrance which took us to a brill supermarket which had everything at very reasonable prices. The room was always spotless and we even had tea/coffee left for us when we arrived, we had a room overlooking the disco bar and were very concerned initially at the noise level, but we did not hear any noise for the 2 weeks we were there, its a beautiful spot and for those people who fear the hill, there are loads of taxis at very reasonable rates.
