Stayed in April over Easter, It was our first trip to Spain as a family, our daughters were aged 14 and 19. We arrived at the airport and had not booked a transfer, we had decided either to get a taxi or a train to the resort. We left the airport and took a taxi, deciding it was easier with 3 cases, journey took about 20 mins and cost 23 Euros which I thought was good value.

We arrived early at the hotel and the room was not ready so we were given drinks vouchers to use in the snack bar. We had booked a one bedroom apartment but I had sent over a couple of emails about a 2 bedroomed apartment that I know they had got, when I enquired about an upgrade he said that they had given us a 2 bedroomed apartment. (what was not mentioned was that we only had 4 days in it before we had to change rooms, as people were coming in who had already booked the room, if we had known this we would have stuck with the one bedroomed apartment). That was the only downside to the holiday.

Staff were very helpful and well mannered, all areas were kept clean and tidy and my daughters loved the towel animals and sweets that were laid out. If you stay over Easter try to get to one of the Easter parades that are on, not to be missed, the reception have details of them on the computer..

We visited the Selwo Marina Delfinarium which was a great show and even at a price gave you the opportunity to get in the pool with them. The Paloma Park was good there a 3 cafe's in the park where you can get Tapas and can even ride a bike or segway around the lake. The park has a large children’s playground and a lake. It makes a great/free day out for all the family. A beautiful place for a picnic too. We had one day of rain and decided to visit the Cocodrilos Park. Parque de cocodrilos en Torremolinos ...again a nice experience, to start with thought this is not worth the money, but the talk and paying 1 euro to hold a baby croc was worth it (I think). On a couple of occasions we walked along the beach to the harbour, which is a lovely walk and took about 40 mins, walking back along the restaurants and shops. The Sealife centre in the harbour area is worth a visit but if you can book tickets online while at the hotel you can save about a third on the price. The hotel will always print it out for you if you ask, you can send it to their email address.

The hill at the front of the hotel is not that bad, not as bad as people make out, and there is always the short cut through the garage as well. The supermarket near burger king has all you will need if you find the hotel shop a bit expensive, we found a nice plastic litre bottle of sangria for 1 euro, plenty of bread, ham and cheese, you can get to it via the gate at the side of the paddle tennis court.

We stayed half board and the staff always had a welcome for us when we entered the restaurant, no complaints with the food at all, always plenty of it and good quality, salad, fish and meats, we used to eat early when it had just opened so not sure what it was like later.

Other amenities we used were the indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym, paddle tennis court, Benny's bar and of course the outdoor pool which although very cold in April was great to just jump in.

The evening entertainment although on the line of a holiday camp was fun, but it did go downhill when Patrice was not around.

If I were to make any comments it would be that the paddle tennis was very rarely used and this I think might have been due to the price of the court and that we did not really know if the rules were the same as tennis or not. Maybe the inclusion of some local bands might help the entertainment or a local amateur singer.

Overall a very nice relaxing holiday will certainly come here again, hopefully next Easter.

Many Thanks to Trevor and all the staff.

Lovely hotel extremely friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic kids club and nightly entertainment to suit everyone ,would definitely stay here again . The hill is a little steep but no where near as bad as we had been led to believe in other reviews.

This was our second stay at the Benalmadena Palace - we stayed in June 2013 too. We love it due to the good facilities for children (3 pools including indoor, and a well stocked and staffed kids club including playground). We weren't disappointed at all. The food was lovely too - a good selection and always hot. The staff throughout the hotel were always very attentive and helpful, and the room was clean. The hill to the hotel isn't too bad if you cut through the car park. We'll be returning again soon.

I went here for a short break with my wife. I did feel the hotel was more suited for families.

The staff were fantastic, very friendly, from the reception to the maids. All went out of their way to say hello and make you feel welcome.

The rooms were , nice and clean, but didn't feel quite as nice as some of the other four star hotels I've stayed in.

The food was nice , but a little bit repetitive , and we were only there for four nights.

I would, stay again but would maybe opt for a more adult orientated hotel.

Stayed here on a self-catering basis so can't comment on the food but heed the warnings about the very steep hill, it's hard work if you've walked back from the town then have to face 'THE HILL'! The hotel was nice enough but our room wasn't good due to the sloping roof above our bed. We were on the 7th floor on the side where the roof slopes and you can't get to the other side of the bed without bending over (I'm 5ft 4in) or crawling over the bed (not good if you have to get up in the middle of the night). Nor can you stand at the wardrobe next to it without bending or sitting on the bed. When I asked the receptionist about it he said they were all like that which I later found wasn't true. Also our room was right next to the air outlet/generator thing on the roof which was noisy all the time and chucked out cooking smells much of the time. SO AVOID ROOM 705, it's probably the worst they have! I would not go back!

Dear family,
First of all, we thank you for staying in our Hotel. We appreciate your feedback, it is most important for us! Our studios come with sloping ceiling, as they are all on the top floor, all our studios are the same. Our one bedroom apartments are larger, have a larger terrace and don´t have a sloping ceiling and are indeed more suitable for taller people. The hotel offers this information clearly on the website in order to avoid missunderstandings. We are sorry, that the studio did not meet your expectations.
Regarding the hill: we offer free Minibus service daily from 10.00 am till 17.00 pm. It runs every 30 minutes. Also the rear entrance (to the supermarket) is less steap and a good option for people with little children (prams). The third way to easy the way up is to enter through our garage, which is half way up. We wish you a good summer and hope we can still rebuild your confidence for a future stay in Benalmadena Palace. Kind regards.

Just back from a long weekend staying in the Benalmadena Palace. The hotel was great value for money and would definitely go back.

Check in was quick and painless - 37 euros for a late check out, for those with a late flight this is totally worth it.

The room was spotless, we stayed in one of the self catering apartments on the 7th floor. We have a good view and the room and clean and comfortable.

The pool was a great size with plenty of loungers it was quite busy in the afternoons so to guarantee a good spot get down early.

The snack bar was always busy but for those that are self catering its very pricey. Almost 7 euros for a sandwich. Much better off walking for 5 mins to one of the cafes facing the beach.

The hotels location was great, apart from the hill! Lots of pubs/restaurants and cafes near by. Also there is a massive supermarket just behind burger king which is ideal for those who are self catering.

All in all a really good hotel.

Most of the staff was friendly. Plenty of food at the buffet, tasty, but not no woow factor here like showcooking, light variation only. The pool is quite cool and needs some time to get warmed up. The nearest ATM is about 500m at the McDonald. The room was ok. You can ask for a quiet room, because the english residents can make a lot of noice, even at 11 PM or later. There is a very nice kids club. The bar beny's is nice, although managemet favors Spanish football, so no customer minded attitude. The indoor pool is good for fun with small kids but it is 1,5m deep and you cannot have to much fun of the lifeguard. The area is great. I can advise the paseo maritimo place Tragatapas. Taxis are cheap and needed to tackle the very steep hill to the hotel. I also liked the fitness area, but there is no airco ;-)

Room Tip: room 413 was a good corner room, but if the wind comes up, even at night, it can be loud
