“Very Friendly Hotel”
Reviewed 8 September 2009

I have just returned after 5 days at Benalmadena Palce. The Hotel it self is very nice and fantastic for families, we were a group of girls on a hen week end was still made to feel very welcome. Unfortunatly the nightlife at the Hotel is very quiet which is a shame as the bar area is very nice and the bar staff very friendly. I would like to clear something about a lovely young bar man called Simon, in a previous review he was slatted for being a bit of a ladies man and leading girls on..... what a load of rubbish!!! He was your typical cheeky chappy who enjoyed a little BANTER with both males and females, if women see banter as flirting then that's their problem not his. Simon has a lovely family and adores them, he was very helpful and made our stay at the hotel enjoyable as did other members of staff. I would definatly visit again with my Husband and three children.

I have just got spent fiive days at this hotel on a hen party. We thoroughly enjoyed what this hotel offered and would not hesitate in visiting here again. The service was fantastic especially the bar staff and the entertainment staff. Looking at the hotel previous reviews I found it unsettling to hear a bad review on the bartender. What a lovely young lad he was and his helpfulness, attitude and beviour was incredible. We all found him to be very friendly and enjoyed the banter we all had together. Thanks for contributing to our fantastic holiday.

We have just returned from the Banalmadena Palace and loved it, already planning on going next year. We had a 2 bedroomed apartment which also had 2 bathrooms which was a great help when there was 5 of you. The apartments were very spacious and were cleaned everyday and provided with a change of towels. The hill to the front of the hotel is very steep but you can use the hotel car park to access the lift and miss out the second part of the hill or use the back entrance where there is a hill, but nowhere near as steep as round the front. The hill at the back leads down to a very cheap and useful supermarket for those who are self catering - the shop saved us a fortune!. We had teenage kids with us but the all round entertainment for all ages of children was very good with something on all the time. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk and highly recomment Bar 76 and an Indian called Nooh Mahal which is about 25 mins walk away. The only downside to this hotel that we could see was that the food and drinks in the bar were expensive - a portion of chips were 4 euros 80 cent and a pint was 3euros 10 cent but happy hour was between 5pm-6pm and 9pm-10pm for drinks where drinks were buy 1 get 1 free. The pool area was clean but felt that too many beds were fitted in. All in all would highly recommend this hotel to everyone unless you had a walking disability.

Just got back last night from our 10 day half board holiday with husband, teenage daughter and young son. Had a fantastic time, hotel is lovely and the staff could not do enough for you, always helpful. Food was great and a good choice. The hill could be a bit of a killer because of the heat but it helped wear off all the food I had eaten. The pool is fantastic and he lifeguards are quite strict so it does stop little ones running, slipping and hurting themselves. The only let down was price of drinks, it was nearly 5 Euro for a Baileys and the entertainment wasn't that great either so for the sake of walking down the hill and back it was worth it to go to bars that were selling glasses of wine for 1 Euro and bottles of San Miguel for 1 Euro. The bar was always nearly empty. You are not supposed to take your own food and drink around the pool but it was obvious everybody did it so they need to consider lowering prices but as I say it is a great hotel, clean, the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. We will definately go back.

Me and my family think that this hotel is a wonderfull hotel , while we was there we had such a lovley time , no complanits or anything , the staff treated us really good , but one bit off advice and this is to all girls they is a bar man called simon that works at the hotel , he is a ladies man , he likes to flirt about and make you think that he likes you but to be truthful his only gonna break your heart , but apart from that one thing , everything else was Ok , and we would like to go back there but cant at the moment as im hurtin over him, so we are going to give it a miss ,
Bedrooms:- The bedroom is really nice you have two single beds together and a double wardrobe and in the living room there is a sofa which pulls out into a bed , the rooms was cleaned everyday which is really good and the maids leave sweets and fresh towels. theres a steep hill leadin to the hotel which is ok going down but abit hard coming up indoor swimming pool cold not heated. hope you enjoy your stay the food was delicious and somethin different every day. entertainment not to bad a little for everyone

Just back from Benelmadena Palace which we had a very enjoyable time. I would recommend here for a family with kids under 10 as there was plenty of fun arranged for them and they could also be kept entertained up to 11:00pm which gave the adults an extra bit of spare time to themselves. The food served was quite good the entertainment at night was much the same as you would get in any complex in Spain which is average enough and the staff there was very friendly. If I had to make one complaint it would be about the air conditioning although all rooms have it the standard from it was very poor compared to other apartments we stayed in and as for the hill up to the main door you will get used to this very quickly. Overall I would have no hesitation in returning to the Palace and would have no problem in recommending anybody to stay there.

GOOD POINTS:
* Nice Swimming Area
* Excellent facilitles for children

BAD POINTS:
* Definately not a 4 star more like 3 star hotel (based on room stayed which was 1 bed apartment in the roof on 6th floor to which my wife who is only 5ft 4in had to bend to stand in 1/3 of the room)
* Food was very bland and repititive (Wife and Son struggled)
* Staff were ok except for one very rude and discurteous waiter/greeter
* Rooms viewed were all small and extremely basic
* Location is ok a fair old hill to walk up though (Use car park shortcut)
* Rooms are not cleaned to a high standard (found glass over the floor along with old food in the microwave)
* Air Con was not sufficient (saying that it was 37 degrees)

OVERALL: Would not recommend to a friend as there are much better 4* hotels available on the Costa Del Sol coastline, Would not return :(
