“Veggie chilli”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

I was wandering along looking for somewhere to have some (veggie) food and watch some football. Wandering just off the main route I spotted a claim of homemade veggie chilli/curry/lasagne/ er, something else. So I wandered in and was sorted out with the chilli and rice (I was puzzled to be offered half and half - half rice/half chips it turned out: I guess it is an ethnic English thing ;-) ). I did think, "is that it?" at first but it turns out that the plate was much bigger than I thought. Tasty and spicy and the nicest rice I've had for a while.

14 Euros for dinner and three pints, not bad. Estrella Galicia on draught, friendly staff, fair size area in front (inside and covered terrace), big screen soaps through the back if that's your thing.

“Good Home Cooking at very reasonable prices.”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

We have spent the last three months in Benalmadena and ate many enjoyable meals at The Jolly Pirate. Home cooking at its best and at very reasonable prices. Sunday Lunch for example is E5.75 with a choice of chicken, beef or pork, and all the trimmings. Absolutely delicious! Drinks prices are also good. All the staff are very friendly in particular Kate who was on duty on most afternoons when we were there. If you want a tasty meal from a very varied menu then Pirates is the place to go.
