After reading several reviews about the Hotel rooms, I was dreading being in a room overlooking the car park and especially the road noise - I had a lovely room, overlooking the carpark but also had great views out to sea, the traffic noise was NOT as bad as some people were making out, my room number was 614 so I was smack bang in the middle.

Upon arrival, we were greeted at the reception and were told to go straight down for dinner as we got their at roughly 8:30pm.

The room was clean and tidy, carpets weren't all that bad - few stains here and there. I do agree that the Hotel is looking a bit dated, but it wasn't a problem at all.

The food was outstanding; quality wise and choice wise - there was something different on every night and the show cooking meat was to die for, red meats melted in your mouth. Also, a big choice for dessert too! Ice cream, cakes etc. At breakfast there was a massive choice toochoose from - full english, crispy bacon, spanish bacon, sausage, egg, scrambled egg and so on. There was also many different bread buns you could have too and cereal.

I couldn't fault at the Hotel at all, I came here with my girlfriend, mum and dad, brother and sister law and uncle and his girlfriend - a family group. The Hotel does have a lot of 60+ people but they're all lovely, they always spoke - even in the lift when it felt awkward being in there. I think the only thing the 60+ could complain about is how many steps there are, my calfs were burning some days!

Also on one occasion, two cleaners shouted at my girlfriend in Spanish because she'd spilt some nail glue on the bed side table, which ended up upsetting my girlfriend. One of the cleaners was very rude when confronted so Reception was rang, the man who came up was very pleasant and diffused the situation, although I still think she was quite rude towards us.

Overall, a fantastic holiday, lovely weather and lovely views - we will be coming back.

Friendly hard working hotel staff, dining room was 400 seater but minimal waiting for a table on one busy night. Prompt, efficient friendly service. Wide variety of food so could always find something we liked. Bonus of this hotel was it was child free so quiet pool and no tantrums or screaming brats. Room very clean and comfortable. Air con could have been a bit more efficient but temp was in the high 20s. Hotel was between the main promenade and main street with great views over the marina. close to bars restaurants shops etc. Evening entertainment could be a bit hit and miss but good pubs nearby - Buddy's and Bar Ole both worth seeking out in Plaza Ole. Only one gripe - very difficult to get a sunbed unless you get up before 8am. Hotel mamagement had put up notices threatening to remove towels from beds but this was never done. Didn't spoil our holiday - went to Paloma Park for peace & tranquility - Bliss!

Stayed here for a week mid July with family and a friend.
Was put off at the start that all of the guests were over the age of 65 but further into the week/summer younger people started arriving.
Fantastic location, on the beach, 5 mins from marina, 5 mins from 24hr square which is amazing for nightlife and open until about 10am the next morning!
Had to move rooms because we were on the ground floor and didn't feel safe/heard about stealing happening there. But was moved to 7th floor and had great room/view of the sea
Food was excellent! Good choice for everyone everynight.
Staff were all very helpful
Overall excellent holiday/hotel. The location made it

Room Tip: Don't go on ground or 1st floor. Get a sea view

Riviera Hotel Benalmandena Costa Del Sol is an adult only hotel but what the brochure does not say is that most customers are over 60 years old. That said it is a very nice hotel to stay in. All the guests were very friendly and welcoming to others.

I booked this because it said it had a gym. Nah it is a couple of no good machines. However, there is the hpysique gym 120 metres fromt eh hotel which is amazing and only 15 Euros for the week.

The staff are fantastic and happy to help with any request. The rooms are dated but very clean. One tip if you are a solo traveller watch out for the single rooms with a single bed not good.

The Restaurant food is top quality and lots of choices; you can find something you like every night without doubling up.

The entertainment; well this is what you would expect for a Spanish resort enjoyable but not the variety show.

The local area is amazing with a brand new marina five minutes’ walk away which is full of shops and entertainment. You have the 24 Hour Square is full of pubs, clubs and restaurants however this is a very violent area someone got stabbed one night while I was on holiday and muggings are rife for those out on their own.

I managed to find a bar 100 yards away from the hotel called “Buzby’s” with live entertainment every night 10pm to midnight followed with Karaoke midnight to 3am and food till closing time. The English owners Julie and Mad Terry (stage name) were fantastic welcoming all who entered with a smile and good quality drink. The Karaoke is hosted by the “Karaoke King” Tommy who does an amazing job you cannot give song a title he cannot find.

The beach is clean and well maintained.

There is a nudist beach (Benalnatura) only a six Euro taxi ride away if that is your choice. A quiet little cove 200 metres long, with a single good quality beach bar. You can take a shower have a massage it has a very friendly atmosphere.

That is about all except I will be visiting the hotel and the area again I had a great holiday.

Room Tip: do not book a single room is contains a single bed and is right next to the air shaft for the restau...

Positives- close to airport-20min transfer; excellent choice of food and restaurant service: good standard of cleanliness throughout; good availability of sunbeds all day;
superb views on floor 7 with view facing harbour;no children; good size pool;on the right side of the busy, noisy road;well priced at less than £450 half board for 7 nights peak time; lovely stroll to the harbour: plenty of bars in vicinity.
Negatives-rather dated; stained carpet in bedroom; surrounded by tacky shops;pigeon's nest complete with egg on our bedroom balcony on arrival; the Thomson rep.
