“Room size for single travellers”
Reviewed 28 October 2011

As a lone 83 year old traveller I had the misfortune to book a week, part board, from 16th to 23rd Oct. this year in Las Arenas. I booked well in advance. I was given a room so small that I could hardly move around not to mention the tiny bathroom. The following day I asked for a change and got a bigger room but it was in the the basement. It had bars on the windows and I could only see peoples legs as they walked by. Everything else was first class. So if your going to the Las Arenas make sure you get the room you deserve. Frank Linehan Cork

Room Tip: Check your room size before accepting it especially if your on your own. Frank Linehan Cork.

Just got back from this hotel, I must say the previous reviews were spot on. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Asked to change room on arrival as we preferred to be higher up and was given one the next day without any hassle at all. The food was excellent and very varied at both breakfast and dinner, so much to choose from. No problem with the air conditioning it worked perfectly in our room. The room itself was great, not small at all and plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe as well. Just across the road from beach and was a beautiful prom to walk along. Would definitely go again.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are great, make sure you are on a higher floor

Stayed in this hotel for 9 days in June and had a lovely stay. The location of the hotel is ideal, just across the road from the beach. The hotel is very well maintained and very clean, lovely plants and trees at the main entrance with comfy chairs to sit and relax. We felt our room on the 6th floor was a bit small and the balcony was just big enough for the two chairs and table. Didn't like the glass partition as you could see all the way to the ground and was maybe a bit too high for me. The restaurant was a good size and always busy, but always managed to get a table and yes the tables are probably a bit too close. The food and staff were excellent. When we were there the weather was very hot but we always managed to get a bed at the pool. The beach is right across the road as well which was lovely. There was always entertainment at night and it always seemed to be busy, drink was expensive. It is about a 20 to 30 minute walk to the Marina, which was a nice way to walk off your dinner. Would return to this hotel but would say it caters for the more mature holidaymaker, nothing for kids that I could see but then its probably couples that it is trying to attract. Think we prefer Torremolinos better as a resort but couldn' fault the hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms have seaview but the rooms facing away from the Marina side have the sun all afternoon and...

Nobody else has made a comment, but the heat in the dining room was wild!!! Lots of people
rushed to get out, it was very hot. Food was good but the tables are very close together so you can hear all the others conversation. We had a week in room 709 which was excellent
but again the air con did not seem to be working. Happy Hour with 2 pints for €3.25
Wine was €2.60 a glass . We got an early breakfast on the last day as we had an early start.
Overall a good hotel but that air con needs to be fixed

Room Tip: Get a room on the highest floor. We had room 709 , excellent

10 wonderful days at this brilliant hotel. Our room overlooked the front entrance, plenty of people watch material!
Our room was cleaned every day. Food was great even though I'm vegetarian there was plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Didn't want to leave.

Room Tip: Room 106, lovely.

Having read lots of reviews about how great this hotel was before booking, we were v disappointed with las arenas. We were out booked on our first night, supposedly because there was a prob with pipes, but on speaking to other guests they were outbooked for 3 nights because the hotel was overbooked. Hotel dated and badly in need of refurb, esp outside. Food average and very much geared to the older generation. Recep area and restaurant small and cramped!
Service in bar and restaurant v good. Pool area was grubby, most sunbeds were broken or v badly sagged and towels not provided. Badly in need of pool bar, as had to walk down large set of steps and into main hotel for a drink. Rooms were very clean and we did get a nice room with sea view because we were out booked. Location very central. Definately more a 2 to 3 star hotel rather than a four.
