It was my first time in the Costa del Sol and I thought Las Arenas was excellent. Yeah, its alittle quiet but all customers and staff were friendly. Its not the place you'd go if you wanted to go out on the lash every night as the other punters wouldn't appeciate rowdy guests heading to bed in small hours. The location is still excellent with beach across the road and pubs/bars etc nearby.

It may not have the biggest of pools but excellent for jumping in to cool off or do afew lengths. You can blag your perfect spot on the sun terrrace or around the pool if you're up at 9am to get your towels down. The food was absoluteyl brilliant!!! Its not michelin star rated but i've never eaten better in my life. Lots & lots of variety. All food was freshly cooked and a real mix of Spanish and British food. The chefs and serving staff deserve a mention for doing a great job.

The place was spotless and my room was perfect. Yeah it wasn't massive but ideal for somewhere to sleep. The decor of the room and bathroom was modern.

Overall a cracking wee hotel

Room Tip: It appears from some of the reviews that not all rooms have a balcony. When booking the room I'd...

Just returned from a lovely holiday staying at this hotel. The hotel its self is absolutely spotless, the food is amazing with so much variety, the staff are all so friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, directly opposite a beautiful beach and an amazing promonade that takes you right down to the Marina which is absolutely beautiful. Spoke to lots of guests who constantly told me that they were returning guests for as long as 10 years. I was sad to miss the festival which is on the 23rd June, I left on the 22nd June :( I will definitely be returning to this hotel as it had everything that I needed and the location was just perfect. If you're looking for a decnt cuppa and a really good cheap meal, once out of the hotel head right along a strip of bars and next door to mcdonalds you'll find a small eatery called 'Horizon' which is run by a Scottish chap who was very friendly and offered great bites and drinks at great prices, which is ideal if you're on a budget. The Beach bar opposite the hotel which is located directly on the beach is fabulous, great atmosphere and great service but this was the most expensive bar drinks wise so we usually stooped off there on the way back from the hotel just for a cheeky drink or 2. The Marina is a must, fabulous shops and bars in such a beautiful setting. Benalmadena is such a great spot to stay, it isn't rowdy, it is such a clean and beautiful area, it had everything you needed in one spot. The only warning I could give you is with reference to the street sellers, they are relentless and everywhere, they come into restaurants and stop you in the street or on the beach, I did purchase a couple of lovely handbags and some lovely sunglasses but do not be tempted by the replica designer watches, they look good but are poor quality from China, if you buy anything from them you must haggle hard, like I said I did buy a few good items from them which I love, the problem is you are constantly stopped by them, if you're not interested just say no and ignore them, they don't cause you any problems at all, it's just annoying after a while. Another tip is don't buy your gifts in shops until you've had a good look around as you often find the same thing cheaper in another shop, lokk around all the shops first then buy your gifts. You can take some great day trips from Benalmadena and I would recommend you did this from the hotel, or one of the nearby shops as opposed to street touts. All in all I cannot wait to go back, the weather was absolutely amazing....

Room Tip: I had a left side balcony room with a lovely sea view, this is the sunny side of the hotel, I would...

Just back from a fantastic week at Las Arenas. Location is excellent (beach just across the road). Lovely hotel, food was excellent - so much to choose from you could never be hungry.Free Wi-Fi available. Good bar with happy hour 5-6pm (B1G1F) and good entertainment in the evening. Spacious room and bathroom (lets face it you don't go on holiday to spend time in the bedrooms) and a balcony with a great view of the sea. Just a quick stroll to bus stop on same side of hotel - a must have is the 121 to Mijas 1.50 euro (public transport is so cheap, it is only a few euros to get the train from the airport to Arroya de Meil).
Would recommend (have done already to close friends and family) and I will definateley return next year (would be this year if I could fit in another holiday)

Just retured from the las arenas,We have stayed here before but didn't realise there was rooms with no balcony. The room was also very small. We did request a room that we had stayed in before but didn't get it.I spoke to other people and they wasn't happy with their rooms. We did get moved when a room was vacant but we paid for a room with a balcony not a tiny room with no balcony. This has put us off returning to this hotel. Also the food was hot and other times just warm.Would not return again as there are alot of rooms with no balcony and who wants to keep unpacking to change rooms.

Room Tip: All the floors have some rooms with no balcony's

Just returned from a long weekend break at las arenas, our second trip to the hotel within as many months. Myself and my husband thoroughly enjoyed our stay, everything was perfect as expected, apart from one rude member of staff front of house. Weather was fantastic, perfect beach weather. Lovely to see that the bar staff remembered us, and were asking about the children who we left at home this time (not on their own!) will be back in summer with children in tow, keep up the good work!
