Returned today from a week with husband and our 8 year old.
I was very concerned about going to this hotel after some of the reviews I had read but do not worry.
Check in was quick and staff very polite. Our room was very clean and spacious, with a beautiful sea/pool view.
First choice entertainment team were fantastic, kids clubs and evening entertainment were great, well done guys!
Breakfast and lunch were great, the trip to the beach club for lunch over the bridge is only 5 mins and if you choose to sit outside the view is beautiful.
The evening buffet is very average, food not very warm and and quite tasteless , the Mexican and Italian are not much better (tex mex was best), as we were only there for a week it was bearable.
On the whole a great holiday we all had a great time, if the evening food was better it would have been perfect!

Iv just got back from a week at the holiday village with my partner and 3 year old son.
The great bits about this holiday are:

1) first choice kids club (you guys do an amazing job) my 3year old loved it would go to every session if he could (tips for parents, if you kids go to the 7:30 club book in for the Italian or Mexican at this time so you can have a meal in peace :-) )
2)The first choice entertainment team/reps they are always smiling and happy
3) the artificial grass around the pool area is an amazing idea. No slips at all (only down fall is it's really sticky by the drinks Machine)
4) even tho the hotel was full. We always got sun beds (for those that moan about people putting there towels down the reason a lot of people do this is for their children. So they are close to the kiddies pool which means it's safer)
5) big apartment
6) great view (we was in room 417 facing the mountains we did have the train go by. But we never noticed it. And honestly. I would rather have a view of the mountains than the pool)
7) the people in the resturants. Always smiled even tho they are overworked. Every time (breakfast lunch and dinner) plates would be dropped as they we're run of their feet
Things not so great about the hotel

1) all pools are freezing (I know there is an indoor pool but children are only able to use in the morning and have to wear hats which my 3year old refused to do) so the beach club was wasted and seriously is mega freezing)
2) the rooms are not very clean. There was holes in the sheets. The beds are so hard a squeaky. And the pull out bed is a waste of time
3) in my opinion the food was not good at all. It all was very bland. And pretty much the same most nights. We did eat in the Italian and Mexican (more like American than Mexican tho) the good thing about those is the food was hot. As anothe person said there was only one person doing omelettes in the morning (they are also doing the bacon and fried eggs too. And always had a smile on their face)
4) there is no information at all!!!! This really got on my nerves as most hotels have an information pack in the room letting you know about all the activities, spa prices etc this had none.
5) drinks! The soft drinks are easily attainable. But alcoholic drinks are not so. You don't know what they do? And you don't know which ones are all inclusive or which ones you pay for. There needs to be a drink menu with this on
6) the main pool areas was not always cleaned. There was plastic cups in the same place for 3 days
7) you are not in walking distance to anything. But there are regular busses to most places

Would I go back here? No. But I would defiantly go back to other better holiday villages. This one is the worst I have been too. In he sence of the hotel. They only thing that made this HOLIDAY good was first choice team.

Room Tip: Don't panic if you are facing the rail way. You have a great view. Also we was right next to the...

Dear Guest,

We appreciate your review regarding our hotel as they are sometimes useful for seeing where we can improve our services.

In your review you mention several times a lack of information. We hand out the Hotel information sheet on arrival and this has all the Hotel run activities and their timetables. With regards to First Choice activities, there are notice boards all over the floor where we have our shop, bars, restaurants and pools.

In all Food and Beverage outlets, we have menus that point out all our products and there is a Holiday World symbol next to the products that are All Inclusive.

We are sorry there were aspects you were not happy with and will always try our best to keep improving.

This is our second visit to the village in 3yrs and it was still as good as the 1st time.Having read the recent reviews,we were a bit worried but any worries we had soon vanished. The hotel reception was 1st class, very helpfull the whole time we were there.I must say it is a pity that most Brits who come to Spain always seem to complain about the food, but our 4 very fussy grand kids never complained once during the whole week.the bedrooms are very spacious ,very clean and have large bathrooms, and have british TV on the tele.If I have any complaints it is the hotels location,it is a bit isolated but it does say so in the brochure ,there are buses outside if you feel the need for a change of scenery.would I come back yes I would.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 5th floor, lower floors can be a little noisy,or a room in the other block away...

3 of us travelled out on the 22nd May - 2 adults and 1 eleven year old - on arrival to reception, staff friendly, hotel spacious . Advised our room was 203 - and that if we were not happy with it we could upgrade to a front facing room at cost of 29euros per night, on being advised this, its like we were being set up for a fall... how right we were! on being told this, we knew our room was not in a good position.. the room was in a corner elevation, no sun and backed straight onto a railway line, as soon as we entered, the train went by... so we were straight back to the reception, with money 149 euros to move rooms.... not ideal but when staying a week, you want a nice room, so worth considering pool view option/sea view prior to booking this hotel...

We were offered another room, which we were able to view so we had a look and took this room, advised the room was ready, however on inspection, the room was dirty... the tv was, shelfs were all thick with dust and i mean thick with dust, ther floor was really grubby, so advised reception happy to take the room but on the basis that we had just paid another 149 euros, we wanted the room cleaned thouroughly the next day.
The room was spacious wiht bath and separate shower and two sinks, lovely size as was the room with separate bedroom and sofa that turned into a double bed... nice kitchen with fridge, which was really handy.
Beware mattresses in bedrooms thin and uncomfortable..
The hotel is large and spacious, plenty of sun beds, was a bit of a trek across the road to the main lunchtime restaurant, not ideal for elderly or people with disabilities, have no idea why they cant just put a small bridge across, instead of a double winding bridge... ?? makes no sense at all... the pools were freezing , but the kids seem to enjoy them and once the wind dropped the pools didnt seem so bad!
The food quality at breakast, lunch and dinner were plentiful, the restaurants are very large and well managed and such a good choice and variety of hot good quality food, so much choice for everyone - and all.
The staff were at times rushed and not very happy as were the bar staff in the main piano bar very miserable staff... what a shame ... drinks ok , quequing for drinks at piano bar and snack bar ridiculous especially in evenings, when queues sometimes 20 deep... (get more staff ) shame the hoterl dont offer bottled water, only cups of water .. should be bottles of water in rooms every day... especially for families with young children.
they had bunjee jumps and trampoline for kids in the evening at 3 euros per go, which is ridiculous, its a holiday village, these facilities should be free , also had to pay for the big rings for the water slides, which should also be free.. yes pay a deposit for the rings but not to have to pay 6 euros for the ring!!! why >????

No access from hotel to the beach, all locked up, you have to walk the roadside down to the beach, not accessible from hotel, in fact didnt look safe, so possibly why all padlocked up...

In all a great week, but having to pay the extra to upgrade to a nicer room was unfair.... would go back again, but would book sea view room in advance, hoping we wouldnt get stung..almost immediately on check in... felt like we were being conned... and how many others like us got shown to a dull room initially with the option of upgrading at a cost.. would do the same???

Room Tip: make sure you investigate option of sea /pool view as sunny side and worth paying a little extra...

We are back from our second stay at Holiday Village Costa Del Sol and can’t wait to return, it really annoys me seeing bad reports on trip advisor as we cannot fault this hotel, it is fantastic.

On arrival we had a pleasant trip to the hotel and we were welcomed by Ian on the Coach, who gave the low down of what to expect while here, we were so excited as we knew what we had to look forward to for the next 2 weeks.

The reception staff were very efficient and helpful on check in and throughout our stay, always friendly.

The rooms are perfect for what you use them for, to be honest we leave the room at 9am and don’t return till 6pm get showered and then out again until 11pm ish or sometimes 2am lol. Rooms are cleaned daily and they do a fantastic job of keeping a hotel of this size clean and tidy. You always see cleaners tidying the bar areas/ sofa areas and cleaning the glass all around the hotel – no wonder Paige walked into that glass door it was so clean lol.

We spent the first week over the Beach club, the kids loved the Lazy River and pirate ship, again very clean and tidy in all areas. Second week we spent hotel side and got involved in poolside activities, we had such a great time as a family and the Reps make you feel part of their big family. We used the indoor swimming pool & Jacuzzi one day.

We took a trip to the Bioparc and had a great morning out, the kids loved the Lemur enclosure. We were planning on doing more trips but were having so much fun with the reps by the pool that we never got round to it.

The kids club staff are always happy to help, In the whole 2 weeks both our children only used the kids club once, because they met so many new friends and played in the pools and got involved in the family activities.

The I five Live Entertainment with Charley, Paige, Emma, Ben & Rich (not forgetting Jack a the hut) was brilliant every night!!! We didn’t watch when indoors but loved the outdoor stage as that’s what we were used to from our trip before. The team put so much hard work into all of their acts. The panto was fantastic and you can see the team work very well together.

The holiday advisors we saw more of this visit as we were in the 2nd block and walked through reception regularly, Our favourite was Jake he always made us smile. Sean & Danny always chatted to the kids and were all so friendly. The only one we didn’t get to meet was Charmaine, but we may be back before the end of season.

All in all we have had a FANTASTIC holiday, which we have said was made by getting involved with all the reps, they all made us feel very welcome and part of their big family 

Miss you guys and hope to get back for a cheeky week in August

Love Moody Boy, Barbs & the Rugrats xxxx

The hotel has great facilities but very hard uncomfortable beds! The restaurants provide great food choices and are very accomodating for families. The best part about the whole holiday was the First Choice team based in the hotel. The activities and entertainment provided were fantastic, varied and always completed with lots of enthusiasm from the First Choice team.

We booked this as a break but not as our main holiday.after mainly been lucky enough to do annual cruises then we knew this type of holiday wouldn't be 5 star all the way.
Also couple of other reviews were off putting but if you look on here at the best holiday you've ever had then somebody will moan about it so didn't take much notice.
What they do here they do well. We have a 3 year old and the pool area, depth and surrounding artificial grass area were spot on.yesbthe pool was cold but they are in most hotels in Spain.
The first choice staff and the hotel staff were always about and polite. The drinks on all inclusive were plentiful and decent, been a beer man I found it very nice.
The complex is large and very safe.entertainment limited but for kids great and with a 3 year old we were not looking for midnight adult type stuff anyway.
It was very busy as half term but always got a sunbed.
Rooms were large with lots of storage.beds were hard and only other moan was when I had a shower my feet were filthy just walking to bedroom. Obviously floors not mopped.
Now the downside for us was def the food. The main dining room resembled a zoo to be honest. Food everywhere on floor if you didn't eat at start of night.not much choice really. Tables dirty etc.
I didn't like the way plates were cleared in front of your table, scraped into a large bin, again with food all over it, found that off putting.the other 2 restaurants were a lot quieter, table service, fresh hot food and drinks in a glass, not plastic.but you can only eat there once during your week stay.
Once again I will say we are fortunate to have a few hold a year so for some people this will be a great hol and the food ok.
So would I go again?. Mmm well yes in a way but would eat out again which we did 3 nights but defeats the all inclusive tag.
One other thing was breakfast. You can get freshly cooked omelettes but only one person cooks and as I didn't want stuff been left out for ages I patiently waited 40 mins in queue.
This place does what it says on the tin, perhaps we are snobby who knows but our little boy ate well, and loved it do that's why I'd give this place a go

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for taking the time and giving us your feedback.

We appreciate all feedback as it can show us where improvements can be made.

With regards to the food and restaurants, we aim to meet all guests tastes but as we cater for over 1000 people per service, not all tastes are the same and people have different opinions.

As we have many younger children in the hotel at present, there is the odd occasion where food can be found on the floor but we conciously clean it regularly.

Many thanks and we hope that you consider us for your future holidays.
