“A quiet beach area.”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Nice quiet beach area at the eastern edge of Fuengirola. The Carvajal beach is ample and not too overcrowded.

“Spotlessly Clean Playa”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

We park as close to the roundabout at the end of the Fuengirola Paseo Maritimo as possible so access to the car is easy. Carvajal is a favourite for Spanish families, weekends are very busy making it difficult to find a parking space. There is a wall which is about 3 - 4' high, there are about six metal steps which take you over the wall from Fuengirola to Benalmadena. On the Benalmadena side there is a fabulous wooden chiringuito, perfect for a spot of lunch, a cool drink and some shade. There is a sign next to the roundabout stating the start / end of the Fuengirola Paseo Maritimo, at 7km this is a great run which I regularly completed in August, the Spanish appear to cope with the heat and are still running at midday, there is a lovely mix of nationalities of runners and walkers early in the morning, it's great to take in the changing landscape from one end to the other. There are two great places for coffee once the run is complete. The first, a lovely cafe next door to the Blackberry Cafe, which I do not know the name of, there is always a real mix of nationalities and lots of outdoor seating, it is certainly not a full english type establishment and serves the most fantastic strong coffee. The second is Antonio Canon on Avenida Santa Amalia, popular with the locals, full of Spanish, the coffee is as it should be, a great place to absorb the atmosphere and improve the 'holiday Spanish'.

“Caravajal Beach”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Spent a week recently in Caravajal and spent some time on this Beach. Beach used by a mix of nationalities but mainly Spanish people. Very Clean and well maintained with about 4 /5 Beach side Chiringuitos and 4 or 5 beach bed hire areas who normally price at 4 euros per day per bed. Water is clean but there is a bit of an edge at the water which is a bit stoney and steep so you may need to be a bit careful with children. Overall a really pleasant , beach which I recommend.

“OKish beach”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We stayed at the nearby (10-20 min walk) hotel Polynesia so this was the nearest beach.
OK for sea, suntanning (sunbeds 4 euros per day), swim in the sea - not too much going on otherwise (mind we went in September).
The sand is ok but there are pebbles in areas of sea entry.
Have been to better beaches but this does the trick really.
