“The best hotel room I've stayed in, hidden gem in salou!”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

Stayed for 6 nights at the end of may, booked room only in one of the superior double rooms. Can't fault the room in any way, it was so spacious, massive bed, sofa, tv, jacuzzi bath tub, open shower, excellent service from the cleaners as well. The heated swimming pool on the roof was great as well, especially with al other pools in salou and the sea being too cold for anyone to go in. Didn't get any food from the hotel though as we wanted to try all the local restaurants but the restaurant looked very modern. Considering we stayed in another hotel for 2 nights in the top 10 for salou on tripadvisor, this hotel was much better and if travelling to salou in the future I would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: Superior double room was superb

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is very modern and immaculate throughout. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and kept spotless throughout our stay by excellent housekeeping staff. It had a nice bathroom and balcony with sea views. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and sun terrace very much. Breakfast was good value with extensive variety. Reception staff were outstandingly helpful and went to great lengths to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Excellent location at the quieter end of Salou, near to train station, shops and beach. It exceeded our expectations.

Spent two nights in one of the family rooms, it is basically a largish double room with a partition wall to make another small corridor like room. The two singles were laid out in a row.The room was really clean and nicely decorated, the view was non-existent but that didn't really bother us as we were out nearly all the time. We have two teenage daughters so two nights were enough (no real privacy). Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, a huge selection of pastries, breads, meats, cereal as well usual attempt at scrambled egg, bacon and sausages (which to be fair wasn't great) the rest however was lovely. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Salou again.

Stayed there 4 nights in February. Very well located near train station to go to Barcelona or Valencia, 2 minutes walk to the beach and nearby atractions in Salou. Spottles hotel, very nice staff, amazing breakfast and very comfy rooms. The coffee bar only opens from 6pm, but they make nice food (a bit salty for my taste) and the girl serving is specially nice. Will go back definitely.

Room Tip: Make sure they don't give you the room near the lifts!

We were told upon arrival that we had been "upgraded". The room itself was clean with a double bed and a sofa bed that had been made up to accommodate our 14 year old son. On first impressions, all looked OK. Beautiful large terrace which you could just see the sea from, but also overlooking a large patch of waste ground that will (eventually) be developed, and also the dustbins in the street below.
Then we noticed that the sofa bed was actually broken and could not be folded away. Also our son caught his leg on one of the sharp broken metal edges. Then we realised that our bed's head board was directly on the lift shaft wall. Each time the lift went up and down, we could hear the mechanical whiring and clanking.
I asked to be moved to another room, only to be told no other rooms were available apart from a small room overlooking the centre of the building that was dark, no balcony and wouldn't be available until the next day. Clearly this was not suitable. Asked if there were any further alternatives, we were told that an executive room would be available later in the week but we would be charged a further 25euro per night!!.
The bathroom was large, but had no natural light. Unfortunately, there was a constant smell of sewage that emerged from the plug holes and the toilet and bidet. We tried to keep the seats down to stop this, but the smell constantly lingered. Again, I mentioned this to the reception staff who to their credit were very nice and tried to be amenable. However, once again we were told that there were no alternative rooms. I find this hard to believe as the hotel was far from busy.
The breakfasts were great. Large choice every day, plentiful and well stocked.
The room was cleaned every day and the beds made up if we wanted. Clean towels and bed linen every day too.
May be we had a bad experience with the room because overall the hotel was spotless and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
However, this is certainly not what I would class as 4*, maybe 3* at a push.
The rooms could do with a quick overhall and a bit of modernisation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony/terrace. Otherwise you will be overlooking the centre of the hotel wi...

Well located hotel (both sides are quiet), which you may find a little bit old but clean, comfortable and cosy. Very good breakfasts in a nice breakfast-room. Actually - nothing to complain about, but standard was closer to 3+ rather than 4* hotel. We had "standard" dbl - maybe superiors are more sophisticated? Kind and helpful staff. I would be happy to stay there once again.
ps. Instead of buying garrage (additionally paid) I would recommend parking car in one of small streets near to the hotel. The closest are paid ( during high season: h10 - 14 and h17 - 22), however after few metres you can leave your car for free.

Stayed here on two seperate occasions, came back the second time because we had such a nice experience the first. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, the rooms are clean and even the standard double room is very nice for the price you are paying, the only real difference is it doesn't have a balcony like the superior does however with fantastic air con you don't even need the windows or door open. Pool area is fantastic, up on the roof with great views and is deep, clean and sunny with an opening ceiling. Would stay here again happily.

Room Tip: If you're on a budget just choose the standard rooms as they are very nice if not nicer than the...
