The locals eat there that tells you it all. It was recommended to us as the best tapas in salou - and they were right. Great food- great variety. Soooo tasty. Actually getting hungry thinking about it. Well worth the money - definitely worth a visit.

Petit Bar was kindly recommended to us by a Spanish local and what a delight! Although we were advised to book, we were lucky enough to get an early table at short notice. The service was efficient and welcoming, the food arriving within minutes! And what great food it was, great salads of succulent chicken, piles of fried cuttlefish and masses of potatoes bravas. So much so in fact, that we ended taking a doggy bag home. All that with two drinks and some mushrooms came to less then 20 euros, so a real steal too.

Go! Enjoy!

We ate at this place for the 2nd year running and as per last time the food was excellent with large portions. Recommend you order no more than four dishes to share as the portions are massive and the Rioja house wine is really good. Service good but you will need a reservation to get a table. Will be going back again next time

We stayed at apartments on this street and this week we have walked miles to find a good Spanish meal. Tonight we tried here on our street and its the best ever! Authentic food Tapas for 2 glasses of wine and coffee and Tia Maria to finish - beautiful! 28 euros! No wonder this is where the locals eat! We ordered 4 dishes (patatas bravas, chicken wings, mushrooms in garlic and parsley, and Parma ham) plus the tomato toasted bread. Waiters were friendly and smiled to everyone. We had an early meal 7 30 ish so didn't have to book and they accommodated us. We were not rushed in any way (but we were conscious that they start to get busy from 9pm onwards). However, we were on our way before 845pm. Would highly recommend for authentic Spanish tapas.

I really struggled to find great, typically Spanish food in Salou until I found this place, unfortunately for us, on our last night.

Desperate for real tapas after a string of failures we popped into Petit Bar without a reservation on a Friday night, not expecting to get in. However, the staff (who spoke a little bit of English) really worked hard to slot us in and thankfully we were given a table for 2 hours until it was time for us to leave. (Go early if you haven't got a reservation as I find the Spanish eat later in the evening).

We ordered our drinks, they came quickly, along with a bowl of yellowy olives which were the nicest I had had all holiday.

The menu, as I find in most Spanish restaurants, was limited, but the choice was great.

We ordered chicken wings, mushrooms, bread with garlic and tomato, patatas bravas and prawns and squid in a huge skillet. All was absolutely lovely! Seafood cooked perfectly and everything tasted so fresh and fragrant with garlic.

1 thing, we did order too much, admittedly, we were so full after, but I wouldn't change a thing.

The staff we lovely, they didn't speak a great deal of English which I partly think was the reason we were just a couple of the tourists in there, but they still made an effort to talk to us, asking if we liked the food, were full and happy with our meal. They seemed very friendly, entering conversations with other tables so a credit to them!

Overall the service, food and experience was excellent. If you are after good, real Spanish food, visit this place. It's one of the only reasons I would return to Salou.
