“Great hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff, convenient location and lovely pool area. Had a problem with the safe which was resolved immediately. Had a lovely holiday! Aircon nosiy but if you leave the balcony door open it shuts off if you need to charge camera or phone overnight, not ideal when travelling with children. British bar in the back lovely and quiet if you want to be away from the poolside entertainment.

Stayed here for ten days with our teenage daughter we had a lovely holiday. Met some very nice people. The food is great. We loved the breakfast. Couldn't fault this hotel. The reception staff were helpful and Thank you Nadia for printing up our boarding passes! Would love to go back again.

Room Tip: Go for the pool view

Very very small, definitely not a 4 star, bare minimun supplied have to request towels or room cleaning, tiny bathroom gets soaked with the combi bath/shower, dangerous as no safety bath/shower bath in shower, tiny bedrooms, very very noisey, popular with locals so predominantly Spanish orientated, no kids club just limited kids entertainment, cheap food, done reasonsbly well, but good salad bar, lot of pork & fish dishes, all entertainment finishes early if there is an on, just as well as the outside entertainment is very noisy, never more than 2 hours in duration. Overall very disappointed !!

Lovely hotel but... very small area by the pool.On the back of bar with tables and chairs which could remove for the day and put more sunbeds. Pool small and difficult when many people too swim. Before breakfast need to take towels to sun beds to take the place. Like the spa and hot tub. The food is pretty monotonous by the end of the second week we get sick of food. Queue for breakfast we did not expect it from a 4 star hotel.n Not impressed with children's entertainment. All basically designed for Spanish children. Cleaning rooms not a very good they finishing cleaning only before dinner time. In the bathrooms no small packages of soap and shampoo, soap you will find on the wall but there was paper tissues and black sponge for polishing shoes. At the reception I can allocate only two employees who were really nice, Russian girl with short hair and a Spaniard also with short hair. Others even did not look at us, asked to put a battery in my sons toy we ignored ignored other small requests was ignored as well. Very bad internet only in the reception area. Check email at night impossible.Port Aventura 10-15 minute walk. Beach 15-20 minutes.Overall the hotel is ok if you've been in worse hotels before but compared to the other where wee been I am not impressed.

Room Tip: In advance ask for a room away from the evening entertainment as it is very noisy.

We arrived back from this hotel yesterday and we really enjoyed our stay. We asked for a road view room as we had been warned that the pool view is very loud in the evening. This was not a problem and were given the room we wanted. The road view is great as there are the mountains and the sun sets on this side, very beautiful and highly suggest. The hotel was so clean and cleaning staff could be seen every day cleaning everywhere and given how hot it was, this was very impressive.

Be warned that if you have booked transfers the journey takes around an hour and a half, possibly longer depending on where your hotel is. It took two hours to travel back to the airport on the way home, longest transfer ever!!! Another couple said they had got a taxi to the hotel and it took only half an hour, not sure how that works out but may want to consider as it does take a while.

My husband and I loved the pool especially in the morning as it was peaceful and quiet. Obviously this is family hotel and therefore the pool area was busy which was expected. There are plenty of sun loungers but not enough parasols so it was a typical early wake up to put towels down etc to get a good spot. We really liked the pool bar and didn't find it over expensive, we didn't eat there as the food selection was limited,

The breakfast was great with a wide selection, it definitely our favourite meal of the day. We made the mistake of paying for lunch on the first day which was 30 euros and not worth it. The lunch and evening meal is good, a wide range of things but some things were a little bland. However there were some beautiful dishes and loved the selection of desserts. We were very glad we had half board as we would have become fed up at the end of the week as it does get a little repetitive.

Salou is a 15 minute walk away. It is a very very busy beach, beautiful but busy. We managed to find a few areas at the end of the beach where it was slightly quieter which was nice, we discovered too late that you can book a sun lounger the night before to save rushing in the morning so good thing to do as it does get very busy after 11.00. There are a wide selection of great food places at the beach and because we were on half board we took full advantage especially in the evening as the sun sets, beautiful. The cocktails are to die for, expensive for some but well worth it!

We visited Tarragona which is stunning and well worth a visit, travel there is really easy as there are buses there every 30 minutes.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Room Tip: Choose the road view for quiet, pool view to hear the evening entertainment.

Stayed for a week half board and there are lots of positives about this hotel.

Very clean rooms and hotel grounds. Staff very friendly and helpful throughout. We went as a party of 8 (2 adults 2 children aged 4 & 1 and the grandparents) and were very happy with our choice of hotel. We had adjoining rooms with one set of grandparents which was really handy and road view which mad great because it was quieter and we could watch the fireworks at the theme park at 11.30pm every night! There was a fridge in the room but that is it. Air con was very good. Ask for a second key card but put it in the air con after the cleaner has been as it keeps room nice and cool but I read that the cleaners remove them so we didn't risk it.

The restaurant was quite repetitive but was easy to use with the children and gave us the flexibility of having lunch instead of dinner when we wanted. Lots of choice and breakfast was great. Don't forget to check the back as there was always something being cooked fresh there. Our particular favourite was the pancakes.

The hotel sits in between Salou and port aventura with plenty of transport options although it was a nice walk. We made the most of the baby sitters and went to Barcelona for a night.

My 4 year old loved the mini disco (but I found that it started far too late for her at 9pm) and the entertainers were good fun. The daytime programme wasn't up to much and they didn't encourage her to get involved. The youngest is 16 months and unfortunately the pool was the only thing on offer for him and the buggy access to that was through the dinning room which was problematic when trying to return to the hotel because the door was often not answered.

Overall, I would return here, especially when the children are older and we can make the most of the proximity to port aventura. I would prefer a b&b option though.

What a wonderful hotel, a extremely clean hotel with fantastic facilities, food was spot on and they catered for everyone with polite staff, pool area very clean my only only problem is people putting towels on sun beds then not coming down till nearly dinner it states on your sign that this must not be done, I think it sould be charged or beds chained up sounds trivial but there are not just families who need sun beds and umbrellas
