First time staying in this hotel and the area. The hotel was very nice friendly bar staff in the downstairs bar which was nice of the evening to relax. The room was standard what you pay for but the swimming pools were lovely and plenty of sun beds! the weather was poor on the second day but we just went in the indoor heated pool although we had to pay €1.50 for it but it was nice. For children and familys its a good hotel as every eveining there is entertainment for the children. The hotel is situated a perfect 5 minute walk if that to the beach with bars shops arcades and restaurants. The beach is beautiful with plenty of activitys to do! we had a lovely weekend away only downer was paying for the inside pool!

Stayed here for one week with my 16 year old daughter, the only good thing I can say about this hotel was its location, close to all bars, restaurants and amenities. This hotel does not cater for the British, no British entertainment, air conditioning was useless and going for food was like attending a cattle market, completely disorganised. Plenty of sun beds but unfortunately no umbrellas to go with them. Would definitely return to Salou but wouldn't return to this hotel.

Ok, so if you're looking for luxury, freebies and all the added extras you would find at a British hotel then this is most definitely not for you. If however your willing to live without wifi (costs €8 per day per device) and be willing to immerse yourself in a continental environment then you will have a great time. My husband and I booked a week there (got back yesterday) and we were pleasantly surprised by what we got for the relatively low cost if the holiday. A nice clean room with private balcony, hot shower and bath, friendly staff, good quality food and lots and lots of sunshine!. What comes with the low cost of the holiday is the extras that may come as a surprise. Firstly the safe in your room is not free, you will have to pay a deposit and daily fee for its use- we invested in a money belt and took our valuables with us - not a hardship. The tv is small but easily manoeuvred the only English channels are cnn, bbc and a Europe news channel, but this is not a problem if you're there to enjoy the sunshine and don't plan on spending too much time in your room. You won't have remote and need to get one from reception by paying a deposit, although you can just control it from the tv itself instead. You won't find a hair dryer in your room or shampoo/ shower gel although you do get soap so come prepared. Sauna and indoor heated pool costs €2 a time but the outdoor pools and sun loungers are free and much better.
Food: Breakfast is served between 8&10.30 and is fairly busy. You have a buffet choice, so you can grab yourself a massive fry up, go continental or have pancakes or omelettes. It can get busy so come early! Lunch is between 1.30 and 3.30 and again is buffet style with lots of variety, some that sit well with the British palette, but some won't so be prepared to try new things. Dinner is served between 7.30 and 9.30 and is similar to the above. There are base items that are available everyday but there will also be new things swapped in to keep you interested. Just be wary of the puddings- they aren't always the nicest.
People. Overall the mix is predominantly Spanish and French with some Russians, Irish and English thrown in for good measure so it definitely feels a world away from home but variety is the spice of life, just be wary that queuing is not as much of an art form as it is here and can sometimes be ignored-stand your ground!
Noise- big groups of students come by the bus load, but there are 3 massive buildings that make up the hotel so it never feels too overcrowded. Noise can sometimes be an issue, but reception are more than willing to quiet people down if you make them aware. Also note that salou is also a party town with lists of bars and clubs so you will always get people having fun, if you want peace and quiet, try one of the more prestigious hotels that come with the price tag.
Overall the hotel was a great base for exploring and never disappointed in terms of value for money. If you go in eyes wide open and see it for what it is then you will really enjoy your stay. All the extras that you can buy kind of diminish the whole purpose of a holiday and it was nice for a change to be completely cut of from normal life. If you really need wifi all the beach bars and restaurants offer it for free so you can get your fix if necessary. Would thoroughly recommend, don't be out of by the bad reviews unless you want really want all the bells and whistles.

I stayed in this hotel with my sports team as part of IloveTour Saloufest. The hotel was basic and lacked many services which are normally provided free however the service offered was ok.

Reception staff tried their hardest however their level of English was not up to standard as many other hotels in Salou, they also charged a lockout fee of 1 euro for a lockout which I felt was a bit unneccesary as from my experience these have always been free. At the restaurant there was a man making sure that people were dressed appropriately which was fair enough however he didn’t let us bring in alcohol we had purchased in the hotel bar which I felt was rather stupid. This meant that we had to wait to finish our drinks before we able to enter.
The selection of food at dinner was very repetitive however was always cooked to a good standard and you will not struggle to find something that your taste buds would like. Their were many food stations open as well which meant you did not need to queue very long for food which was great after a long days sports playing. It was buffet and meant you could keep filling up.

Breakfast was between 7am-9am which was pretty short considering the hotel was full however not many people made breakfast. There was a wide selection of both continental and cooked options as well as omlet and fried egg stations. Would highly recommend waking up for breakfast.

The main detraction I found with the hotel was the fact that Wifi was charged at 8 Euro per day! This was extortionate and only available on one device. This meant that I had to choose to either use my phone or laptop. Many bars in Salou have wifi for free and would recommend you use this as we did by the end as well.

Room Tip: Go on the higher floors it will be quieter and make sure that you get to the pool early to get a dec...

budget late deal, ok if you are using hotel as a base, nearby town Tarragona very charming and region where wine is made, easily accesable from hotel via bus or train. If you wish to go to Universal Studios Portaventura for the kids it is excellent value and highly reccomend. Train to Barcelona well worth train journey for a great day out sight seeing the beautiful town and cathedral. Got digi camera nicked when going on the bus there, aparently pick pockets operate in pairs, the camera was unclipped from body while paying bus fare on busy cramped bus, lost some very cool photos and put a dampener on the holiday; one of my children has since passed away so even more sad about the theft.
Stayed here a long time ago so just putting up my review now from my experience. Hotel Jaime I is tacky and only good for a cheapy escape. 'Let's get ready to rumble' was blared out of speakers every morning at about 6am as a sort o tacky wake up call, we wanted to find the plug to sever it after a few days! One of the low points was sitting by the pool and seeing a woman remove a soiled 'nappy' off of a severely disabled adult around the pool area and dumping it near where we were sitting. Gross and not nice for children who were around pool, I am not knocking disabled people as my daughter who has since died of Cystic Fibrosis was in essence, disabled, just not v nice or hygenic. I hated this hotel, sorry but was low budget and the food basic too. Stayed 2006 so it may have brushed up since then.

Wouldn't go back here, place looks more like a prison than a hotel, the view from our room was horrendous.

Room was basic, air conditioning was useless.

The bar man at the pool was sleazy and was overly interested in my pregnant fiance!! Nice!!!!!

If you are going on a lads holiday, this place would be fine to put the head down, it's clean enough but for a nice family or couples holiday, avoid, this place is like hell on earth, the food is shocking and it is overly crowded, your chance of getting a seat at the pool in the summer is slim to none.

The standard of guest wasn't up to much either, full of idiots, but thats not the hotels fault!

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel!!
