As I write this we are just over a week away from our 5th visit to this wonderful establishment which is a real credit to the Salou tourist industry and doesnt deserve to be ranked 3rd this year on Trip Advisor. They more than deserve to be back at the top.
The staff are this hotels greatest asset and many folk fail to take this into consideration when booking a holiday as its very rarely talked about until after they return. I think it should be made very clear from the outset that year after year the same staff are seen working happily at this hotel and it is these familiar faces that help us to relax and enjoy the whole holiday.
We traveled last May 2013, there were 5 of us (plus a bump, now 8 months old). This stay lasted two weeks. The weather while we were their was the worst they had seen in 20 years, but we still managed to get a nice tan at the end of it all!
The food, as always, was excellent. It also worth noting that little changes that are made each year which improve the overall experience - last year they brought out 3 different varieties of icecream and left scoops for you to take as you wished. Aswell as that, a chocolate fountain was set up and marshmallows and other sweets were available for dipping. Another evening fresh crepes were made at the show cooking station, whipped cream, chocolate, strawberrys and icecream were available. It was all lovely and certainly I never heard any complaints from other guests about the food, other than that they will need to go on a diet on their return home!
Tables were cleared quickly and professionally and we never waited more than 5 minutes to be seated.
Our bedrooms were excellent, 3rd floor, facing the pool. We had two family rooms, which were very spacious, and had the large flat screen TV on the wall. Always kept spotlessly clean by the cleaning staff, a lovely group of ladies who take pride in their work and for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Entertainment was great too, aside from us being tired in the evenings and having two small children who were long past their bedtime, we managed to stay up for a couple of the shows. Good variety and engaging (aside from the parrots - although that was more about the noise they made!)
Pool, beautiful as always. Not too busy and space for adults and children alike to swim or play without disturbing each other. Spotlessly cleaned each morning this whole area of the hotel is a lovely addition and we never struggled to get a sunbed, even on the busy weekends.
The hotel itself had been given a freshen up with the reception now painted a cool white and new furniture outside in the casual sitting areas.
The Daisy club was again excellent and Sara and Desi were both brilliant with the kids. Lots of fun each night at the mini disco make this a must for any family.
If you are travelling to any of the H10 group it is worth joining the Club H10 loyalty program. From the first day of joining you get nice little benefits such as free cocktails for two and a little chocolate box in your room on your arrival. Its a lovely touch, not normally found in resort hotels and worth filling out the forms with Esmeralda in reception at the club desk if you have not done so before travel.
All in all, it was a another wonderful stay at the H10 Salauris Palace. Just 8 more days and we will be there once again - we cant wait!
