“Lovely hotel, ideal location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2011

We stayed at The Las Vegas Hotel in July/August 2009 and again in July/August this year, and we had another fabulous holiday! I went to Salou with my husband and two sons - almost 18yrs and 21yrs.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, I was very impressed. Most of the staff are very nice and helpful, although the reception staff could be more friendly and approachable, as I felt like I was being a nuisance when I went I went to the reception desk. The bar staff are nice and pleasant, especially Adrian, who is very nice, happy and friendly. Pepe, the restaurant manager, is very nice and helpful, and the rest of the staff work very hard and are pleasant enough. The chambermaids work hard and keep the bedrooms spotlessly clean.
The pools, and the pool areas are clean and tidy, and getting sun beds in the mornings wasn't too bad.

The Las Vegas Hotel is in an ideal location for the local (Plana) busses and the busses run regularly, plus there's a Plana employee on every bus to help tourists book their tickets, and they are very good, friendly and helpful. The tickets are reasonably priced.
Lovely places to visit are Barcelona, Tarragona, Rues, Sitges, Montserrat, La Pindea, Cambrils, and the water park in La Pineda. We went to all these places on Plana busses. We went to Cambrils twice on the Plana bus, and we walked back, which is a lovely walk all along the promonade, but it does take quite a while!

PortAdventaura is expensive, but it's well worth a visit. If you go after 7pm it's a lot cheaper - 22 euros I think.

My sons found bars and liked the Bus Stop, Kiss and 007.

The one thing I didn't like about this hotel is the fact their was very few British people staying there, which is fine, but nearly all the other guests were Russians, and they are ignorant and arragant to other guests and rude to the hotel staff. In the two weeks we were at the Las Vegas hotel, we met five other British families / couples, the rest were Russians, Dutch and Spanish.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday!

we booked the package trip through thomas cooks
3 adults and a five year old.waiters and dining room staff fantastic .
our grandson thought they were all great and waants to go again.
everything was spotless and the food was great.we booked it as a three star but i think it was 4 star.if we go again it will be to the las vegas.
but we only had 1 gripe and that was 2 siitings for the evening meal so i dont think 8.30pm is ideal for a 5 year old.but that apart it was good.

Myself and my boyfriend have just arrived home from a fabulous fortnights stay in the Hotel Las Vegas in Salou, We loved everything about the place but most especially the location. By far the closest hotel to the beach, the hotel is also only a stones throw from all the main shops, restaurants and bus stops to bring you to
Barcelona and Portaventura. As a couple in our early thirties the inhouse entertainment was ok but mostly we headed out for dinner. Any nights we stayed in the hotel did a lovely buffet for eleven euro each as guests. Grand for any days we'd been busy sightseeing and just arrived in.
We had breakfast included in our package but being honest we only managed to make the ten deadline a few mornings. very wide selection and something for everyone. Cleaners were so accomodating also!!! Room spotless every evenine we got back from beach. We especially found the bar staff so friendly, whether ordering a tea or a wine it was very attentive and helpful.
Bit of a pain having to pay to rent safe and fridge but well worth it. On our departure only discovered you can rent a kettle for twelve euros a week for your room
Like other posters on here, definitely try and get a front facing room- we had a lovely pool and seaview with full view of evening entertainment as requested via email prior to departure. Hotel is a bit noisy- thats whats comes from having a wide variety of clientele and being close to the centre of things. You soon get used to it however and we slept v well in comfortable beds. Would have been lovely to have a wider variety of english tv channels but we understand the hotel has to cater for everyone.
Recommended bars for eating are Danny Boys, The Temple Bar and Guiness Tavern just up the road. Reasonable prices and lovely food.
Hate being back, will defo be recommending to our friends..a great place to stay :-)

Room Tip: Ask for front facing view if possible

The Hotel we stayed in was lovely, it was the best hotel looks wise in salou, and inside was gorgeous too, it was clean the staff were friendly and very helpfull.
For food, breakfast you had a range of hot food, bacon, eggs that sort of thing. Dounuts and croissants, fruit, yoghurt, toast, ceareal.
I stuck to hot breakfast mainly because im not keen on natural yoghurt and the milk for the ceareal was slightly sweet tasting. Dinner was fab too, there was a massive selection and different everyday, and the puddings!! YUM YUM YUM!!

There are three pools to choose from the small lonely one round the back great in the morning gets lots of sun the other two near the front good for the afternoon, mind the trees there are birds and they do poo.

The rooms were clean, the beds if you only have the main two were comfy enough, quite firm matresses. But if you had a third bed well that was like rock according to my mother.

Salou is a party place so if you want to go to bed at 10pm everynight stay at cap salou (its quieter) most nights there was outside noise, and the walls at the hotel are paper thin. The lads next to us went out at half 11 and then rolled in at half 5/half 6 in the morning. But if you have had a busy day and are nakkered you should be fine. I was only woken up on the last two nights, a kind bash on the wall seamed to do the trick and they quietened down.

If you want things to do then here is a list
House of Illusion FANTASTIC!!
Decades FANTASTIC
Catamaran boat trip NOT GOOD FOR PEOPLE WHO SUFFER ON WATER
Barcelona VISIT THE FOUNTAINS (thursday, friday, saturday evenings starts at 9pm get there for 8pm)
Port Aventura Good day out, first rollercoaster near entrance is fab very fast and very jolty.
Jeep Safari/Aventura AMAZING!!!! Drive through catalonian mountains, visit little villages, take a dip in the resevoir, off roading, The best excursion of the holiday.

Think thats about it.

Oh I met Daniel Evans from Xfactor at Decades, (he was singing) Got a signed photo from him at the end! Lovely bloke!

Lovely clean hotel. The maids do a good job and are pleasant. Reception staff are very off hand and look on the defensive before you even open your mouth to ask them anything. If you get a room at the rear of the hotel then you will find yourselves overlooking the pool and balconys of another hotel, also a nightclub. Unfortunately this is what we got. There are gangs of youngsters who sit and party on the balconys all night and although we wore earplugs it was a nightmare trying to sleep. They only seem to stay a couple of nights and then another lot move in. If anyone trys to say that once your doors are closed you hardly hear them then they are talking rubbish. IT IS NOISY! If you try and have a nap in the afternoon, forget it as they are then by the pool with loud music. The smoking ban in Spain has created the problem with the noise from nightclubs as the doors are continually being opened for people going in and out to smoke and so the music is blaring out all night.
We found the food to be good in the hotel. Could have been hotter but thats the same in most of Spain and Europe. The meal times with sittings are a pain. No flexability. We asked for the later sitting twice but got no where. Lucky we had a lovely couple sharing our table so we left well alone. We found ourselves trying to kill time between dinner and evening entertainment around the resort as there is not much going on till around 11 at night. There are alot of bars in the resort but not many with English entertainment. Mainly cafe bars where people just sit and watch the world go by and a few karaoke places. The Victoria club was very good with entertainment and had a nice atmosphere.
The 3 pools at the hotel were really nice if you managed to get a sunbed. There was plenty of space but not enough beds. The drinks at the hotel were very reasonabley priced compared to some bars in salou.
We were glad to get home to get some sleep. We have never encountered so much noise before. If they could sort out better sound proofing for the rear rooms and have more flexable meal times then the hotel would be really good. We would never go again as Salou and this hotel were not for us.

Room Tip: Make sure you dont get a room at the back overlooking the pool from the other hotel!

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Las Vegas, Salou, first impression was the location, although a bit hilly, was no problem for us, as we could use the gate at bottom of the hill. The hotel is very central for everything i.e. shops (which suited my wife), pubs & the beach (which suited me). The hotel itself was great; the room that we stayed in was larger than expected which is always welcome, and they catered for everyone (all nationalities). There was one minor problem, the catering had a set time allocated for everyone, the first serving was at 7pm, the second serving was at 8:30pm. We got the 7pm slot, and had to share a table with another couple (Steve and Rosie), fortunately we got on really well with them throughout the 2 week stay. All the staff within the hotel, from the reception to the cleaners, were very helpful. We met another couple (Dave and Pauline) which we though were incredibly pleasant, although a bit wild haha. If you are taking kids on your holiday there is plenty of stuff to keep them entertained, such as pool tables, games and 3 swimming pools. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Can't wait to go back next year!

Room Tip: If you book a back room you will get noise all night long because of the nighclubs opposite. For the...
