“great hotel and holiday”
Reviewed 17 September 2010

Arrived at the las vegas hotel on the 8th september, first impresion was good as entering the hotel, clean and tidy, when checking in the reception staff were friendly and smiling, the room is on the small side i thought, but everything you need is there, there is a fridge to rent, but try the patio dooor key it opened our fridge but not sure if this worked for everyone.the location is on a slight hill, but there is a bottom door you can use by the childrens pool, which lets you in and out and cuts out alot of the hill, 2 min walk from shops and beach and bars, the food i thought was great, we went full board, breakfast which was basicly the same from english breakfasts to continental, cerials and fruit etc. dinner was at 13.00 and the evening meal was split for 19.15 and 20.30, the main meals where allways well prepared and a good variaty. puddings where allso great with alot off vareity, i heard some rumblings about the food, but i honestly dont know where they are coming from, i suppose you cant please everyone, i certanly would come back to this hotel, one off the best i have been to. and the weather was hot hot hot.

Stayed here 27th Aug to 10th Sep with my boyfriend for two weeks both 21. hotel was beautiful very large lobby with plenty of sofas to relax on. 2 main swimming pools 1 childrens pool and a whirlpool and jacuzzi. rooms were excellent with large plasma screens on the wall. Staff friendly and helpfully.Fantastic location across the road from the beach and the main strip of bars and restaurants is just a few minutes walk. There is also a short cut past the back of the hotel to the main bars and nighclubs. There is a supermarket across the road as well as the bus station We went full board plenty to choose from we never went hungry salad bar, steak, chicken, pork, turkey, veg, chips, potatoes etc. A few nights we ate out just to have varitey Dannys Boys is a must for food and in the evening they have live bands and after that try kiss, bus stop and 007 these are good bars to start out the night (good drink promos) then get the snoppey wagan (an open top jeep) that takes you right to the door of a great club and you get free entry and drink promos. Kiss is another good bar/club with good drink promos but if your going in sep or later dont go here to after 1am as its quite empty till then, also try the underground disco its good and gets a big crowd. Very nice beach also very big, can get very busy but definately worth going to even if its just at night. If booking day trips book through the plana stand which is situated across the road as they are far cheaper. Salou was a great Holiday and i would def stay in hotel las vegas again. Loved salou and would have stayed longer.

In general this is a very good hotel. Spotlessy clean, fantastic location right in the centre and overlooking the beach although email the hotel and request a pool and sea view, if you're out the back the view is of some not so pretty apartment blocks. Rooms are tiny but clean, walls however are paper thin, you can hear every conversation from the next room.

Food- no issues here at all- the quality was excellent.

Staff- helpful and courteous very nice girls in the restaurant- always had a smile.

Entertainment- Didn't sit through much but what we did see was pretty cheesy, it's predominately for the Dutch ( lovely) and Russian ( not so lovely ) guests.

Nice pool deck area at the front- getting a sunbed was never a problem.

Would I go back - yes I would.

Just come back from a 2 week holiday here. Location couldnt be better. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels provided everyday. Our rooms were located at the back of the hotel, there were a few hotels behind us which had late night entertainment which could be very noisy, I would request rooms at front of hotel if i were to go again. Hotel is spotless. I did not enjoy the food only went down to breakfast once., although all the reviews on here are good as regards to food the people we spoke to did not like it. When we arrived at the hotel the thomson rep said on coach there would be a welcome meeting the following morning and welcome packs in the rooms, then promtly got us off the coach and went not friendly or welcoming at all. We had no welcome meeting and no welcombe pack and never saw the rep again until departure. The thomas cook rep there were extreamly helpful and asked us if we would like to go to there welcome meeting. With the odd exception i did not find the staff friendly although this is not an issue for me. the facilities are great 2 poolsand a kids pool, pool and table tennis tables, computers. Drinks are very resonable at the bar. I would go back to this hotel buit on a self catering basis.

We have been in Salou two weeks ago. Have read reviews here before making a booking, thank you everyone for their coments, we did the right choice. Las Vegas looks like the niceest hotel on a sea shore. Location is perfect, very close to the beach. The beach is begining in this place and not as wide as in the middle, so it is cosier here and it has shade for longer than other places, which is the good thing from my point of view.
Hotel has nice swiming pools. Evening entertainment. Very clean. Although I didn't like holiday in Salou, too crowded..., Hotel maked our stay in there berable.

My Husband & I stayed here with our friends another couple for 2 weeks from the 30th of July. Location Fab 2 mins to the main beach. Hotel it's self was spotless the staff seemed to be cleaning from Dawn to Dusk.. We were on the 4th floor over looking the pool at the front of the hotel so the view was lovely you can just see the sea between the buildings infront... We were on H/B Basis.. Great selection of food, Breakfast served til 10am.. Evening meal you were allocated a time for dinner either 7.30 - 8.30 or 8.30 til 9.30 (We got the second time thought this was going to seem quite late but instead it worked out well - gives you time to spend your day on the beach etc and you do not have to feel rushed when you get back.. Also allows time for a relaxing drink in the bar area before dinner), Again a great selection of food for dinner and there bottles of house white wine were only €7.70 (Thought this was quite reasonable) - If you do not finish it they will hold it chilled for you for the next evening - Great if there is only one wine drinker...
All in all a great hotel, a great location, good food choices (Tip!! Take the food from the bottom of the trays it is alway that bit hotter), Waiting staff very friendly - a small tip and you will never have to walk to the bar. Pools were lovely and clean, plenty of sun loungers. One small Gripe - If you want the use of a fridge in your room you had to pay €27.00 per week for the privilage.. (With no deposit refund or anything) - We thought it was a bit steep... Didn't bother hiring one ourselves as it was cheaper to pop out to the shop and buy your chilled water and drinks when you needed them.
One last tip Air Con was not the coolest - so we paid €1.00 for an extra room key card and left it in the elec slot in the room meant that the room was lovely and cool all the time...

Hotel was very nice and very clean. Maid service was very good and the restaurant staff were great. Good range of food, a lot of it was quite nice, enough stuff to suit english tastes, the 7.30 sitting was a good time. Great location, only a 2 minute walk at most from beach, shops, supermarkets, clubs and bars. If you're young then check out kiss, 007, bus stop, underground and charlie chaplins! if you're under 18 you'll have no problem getting in and getting served. Lots of cheap supermarkets around with cheap food and alcohol, including english stuff. Reception staff were a bit moody and would have been better if they could speak more english. (Don't try to bring other people back to the hotel!) Both pools were clean and nice and a good size with plenty of sunloungers around them. Port aventura was only a short bus ride away, can buy a card for 10 euros which gives you 10 journeys from supermarkets. Thomas cook reps were nice and helpful. Overall a great hotel and area to go on holiday too, however the hotel may be better suited to older people and families as young people would not spend much time there as they're out into the early hours each night and at the beach all day so would advise somewhere less pricey if you're young and going for the nightlife.
