Absolutely fantastic hotel, great staff, especially the lads who do the entertainment, just loads of nice touches to this hotel, few points to improve on are meat at evening meal seems to be on the bone alot and having young kids makes it tricky, no kettles in the rooms, and no irons to hire, will definitely recommend this hotel, and will return

We have just returned from a 2 week stay and have to say the hotel was fantastic. We are a family of 4 ( kids aged 15 & 8) and there was always something for everyone wether it be food or the entertainment. We paid extra for a suite but it wasn't a big difference from the standard room. The pool area is kept very clean and the lifeguards keep everyone safe and the rowdy kids in check. A great holiday and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Already writing a review and I just left this morning!! Such a lovely hotel with great staff. Only a 10 minute walk from the beach. I'd request a high floor we were in 5215 and we were delighted with the views.

Only down side was the reception stay when we arrived didn't really try to communicate. However that's nothing to judge this hotel by!

Returned today from this hotel, stayed here with my partner, two children aged 16 & 7. Had read previous reviews and was unsure of what to expect. Arrived after an early morning flight and room wasn't going to be ready until 1.30pm, but left our luggage in the secure room and went for food. Tried our luck at 12.45 and our room was ready. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean with lovely white towels which were constantly changed, fridge was a great bonus to keep cold drinks, milk etc. We took our own kettle and tea bags etc for the room as there isn't one there. Rooms cleaned daily. Only a 10 minute walk to the beach and theme/water park. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, my son always looked forward to evening meals to see one of the staff dressed up as various characters and he always made a fuss of the children. The entertainment staff were permanently on the go from games, foam party, darts in the morning, to pool aerobics, inflatable slides, water polo etc in the afternoon to the shows in the evening. All activities aimed at adults as well as children. Even when activities were in the pool you still had room to swim if you didn't want to take part. Can't comment on the kids club as we didn't try it, although if the rest of the activities they organised are anything to go by, it should have been great. You have to get up early for a sun bed, we had an early flight back and saw towels out at 6am, we never had a problem finding a spare bed in the afternoon to put our towels whilst we went in the pool. We had a room on 4th floor of block 1, facing the pool, fab view and right opposite the stage which meant we could watch all the entertainment from our balcony, only one thing with these rooms, music goes on until at least midnight, then you have a member of staff dragging all the sun beds out ready for the morning, so an early night is definitely out of the question, if you want one. Food was lovely with various themed nights with the children bring given pop corn and candy floss and a red rose for the ladies. Also free wifi in the rooms and air conditioning. If we go back to Salou, I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would highly recommend it. Thank you for having us and making our stay so enjoyable.

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms have the sun from mid afternoon and are very warm on the balcony, although they ar...

Myself and my partner (20 & 19) stayed at VilaRomana from the 5th to the 12th July 2014 half board.

Food: We always managed to find something we liked at breakfast and dinner, we particularly enjoyed the themed nights and the added touch of roses and candyfloss being given out on occasion. My partner particularly enjoyed the fresh omelette and pancakes. One evening we had to wait a while for the fresh chicken to be cooked (we didn't mind the wait) but once we came back to our table we found it had been cleared and a new set of people were in our seats, once we spoke to a member of staff she apologised and arranged a new table and fresh drinks for us so it wasn't much of an issue in the end. We also took advantage of swapping a meal to a picnic lunch one day. I'd recommend sitting outside to eat if you prefer to eat where it is quieter and cooler.

Room: Our room was perfectly fine, we particularly liked the fridge as it came in handy. We were a little disappointed to not get a pool view room that we had requested as I think we would have spent a lot more time on the balcony if we had. The room as a whole could probably do with a little revamp but that is really the only complaint. If you stay in a room at the front of the hotel, note that you do here the hotel opposite's entertainment quite clearly.

Location: The location of the hotel is perfect, near to everything you could need. If you get stuck with anything I would recommend visiting the information center a few minutes walk away from the hotel, they helped us out a lot, particularly with train times to barcelona.

The entertainment staff around the pool in the day were fantastic, we only spent two days around the pool but we were impressed with them, the music around the pool was also a nice touch. It was my partners birthday whilst we were there and I thought it would be nice to have some kind of recollection from the hotel for him but not a big deal.
I'd recommend the hotel, but if you are young, the nightlife in salou wasn't as lively as we expected.

Room Tip: Outside eating area at dinner is quieter.

Me and my fiancé stayed here in May for a week. We had been to Salou before, and found that this hotel and the area it's in was better than the one we stayed in before. It's quieter and not in the "English" part of Salou. The hotel itself looks great and was extremely clean. The room we had was a good size for 2 people, with a bed, sofa, TV and fridge. The bathroom was large with a bath/shower combi and a hair dryer. Our room was front facing so could look over to PortAventura. Again our rooms were well cleaned and regularly. We had a slight issue with the air con as it seemed to be blowing out warm air, and there was no thermostat to change the temperature (this had been taken off the wall and replaced with a sticker), but we just opened our balcony doors and this cooled down the room. I would say if you could pick a room then don't opt for a front facing one as there seemed to be so much going on out the front at really early times in the morning that it woke us up every day (I.e bin men, deliveries, people shouting).
We stayed half board so got breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The times of food being served were really good as sometimes breakfast can be too early. Breakfast was always loaded with fried food, but there were a lot of breads to choose from for toast and cereal/fruit were also available. Dinner was really excellent, they had a different paella every night, different meats and fish, a variety of potatoes, rice, vegetables and other side dishes. Soft drinks in the restaurant were about €2.80.
The outside pool was really big and there were plenty of sun beds to go around. It was constantly cleaned throughout out the day, in and around. The umbrellas are drilled into the floor so need to be moved/put up by a staff member who is happy to do it, it's just inconvenient if you are next to someone who wants it up and you don't as they are massive.
From the hotel PortAventura is a 10-15 minute walk away and also the beach is about the same in the other direction.

This has to be one of the best family hotels we stayed in with our 3 children. The kids loved the poolside entertainment, the staff were great fun!

We were half board and enjoyed the variety of the evening meals, particularly the themed nights.

Rooms were clean and functional.

Only a short walk into town or theme park.
