“PLAYAMERO falt 212 GERRARD & LAURA - DISHONEST, INCONSIDERATE OWNERS.”
Reviewed 28 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We have stayed in this apartment last year and thought it was brilliant, so booked up again for this year 6/7/17-15/7/17. On the 11th July we were faced with a horrific experience my children will never forget (or us!). As my husband was making breakfast in the open plan kitchen/living room there was loud cracking noise which we did not know where it came from until it got louder, initially happening slowly but before my eyes it seemed like an earthquake was happening the tiles right down the middle of the floor started to split right down, cracking and lifting in an upward direction with pieces of tile blowing out from the floor. As my son stood on the far away side screaming, i will never forget the look in his face i told him to jump and run. all 4 of us ran out the house. contacted the owner immediately and within an hour the maintenance guy arrived speaking no English... so we did not understand what he was saying, as we sat waiting for another few hours for the owners to arrive. Upon their arrival LAURA & GERRARD, they were completely shocked as they had stayed at the apartment the week prior with there kids, so you think they would be genuine. They both convinced me to come into the apartment and i refused to stay they said they could either put us up in another hotel (not knowing where) or get it fixed the next day and give us compensation. The next day we went to theme park and came back to a TEMPORARY fix which consisted of the tiles removed and replaced with MDF and a rubber mat placed over it, they had left a watermelon (of which we gave to the next door neighbor) and cheap bottle of cava in the fridge . During the last 4 days of our holiday my son cut his foot on the tile and we were constantly asking the owners regarding compensation and even on the return, LAURA said she would speak to GERRARD regarding this, and on the day of our deposit refund there was no compensation. upon asking constantly we were just ignored and when they did respond bottom line said they would not compensate.... Paying well over £1000 which we have worked hard for and waited all year for a holiday, the amount of time we have spent trying to contact the owners regarding something they promised and having the full day wasted waiting to find out what was happening on the day of the event has completely ruined my experience and holiday we all as a family waited so long for.

I would recommend Playamero resort to anyone but my advice is to stay in a different apartment not FLAT 212, the next door neighbor could not believe what they were charging us to stay there and the modernization of there apartment was far superior.

Is the building safe... i'm not sure if you speak Spanish you may find out.

“Highly Recommended apartment complex for all”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We travelled with two teenagers and stayed in a second floor apartment, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
Apartment had everything that we needed, including Air Con in both bedrooms.
Two areas to dry clothes if needed (one on the balcony, and one outside a window by the utility room)
The beds are a little firm.
The water in the shower for the double room doesn't drain away very quickly, so you end up having a little paddle.

Long Corridors have timed lights which are economical.
The apartment block has a lift (which is clean and works).
There are three gates between the complex and the beach.

The pictures (we booked via universalholidaycentre) are an exact representation.

The complex itself has two great pools, and the surrounding area is grassed.
There is a lifeguard there from 9-10am until 8-9pm each day. He keeps the pool and surrounding area clean, and checks the quality of the pool water throughout the day. He is has a great relationship with the children, and does a great job of keeping everyone safe. He makes it his business to know who is staying in the complex. As the complex and pool is also right by the beach, he ensures that any only those that are staying at the complex are around and using the pool area.

The adjoining beach has pedalos to hire, and a banana boat.
There are some great snorkelling opportunities also.

The complex is very well situated for walking to supermarkets, a medical centre, bus stop, bars and the larger beach strip of Salou.

It's 15mins in a taxi from Reus airport (around 30euros)

There is no wifi (which is like a recharger for the kids coming back to life) - that has to be bought separately at not an insignificant cost. This is my only grumble, and I'll be taking this up with the company that I rented this out with.
Likely more viable to pay for data from your mobile phone company, as it's probably cheaper per day than renting a wifi dongle in Spain itself.

Keys were collected from the Universalholidaycentre office which is on the way for the airport. We booked for Express Checkin - which doesn't actually open until 16:00 - so if you have an early flight,, beware !.

Dear IoId!
I'm sorry but I believe you have not stayed in our family apartment!
Our apartment has 2 rooms but only 1 bathroom...we have free internet connection...and we are not Universalholidaycentre. We always receive our guests when they arrive and we show them the apartment and we go to the apartment to pick up the keys when they leave, regardless of the hour.
About your comments of the complex, I share your opinions. The lifeguard is lovely and Playamero complex is well located.
We hope that another year you can stay in our apartment!
Best Wishes,
Xavier & Laura. Owners.

“Great time”

The 'goods' The apartment is very spacious, clean & well presented. The view from the balcony where I sat & ate my breakfast every morning will stay with me for ever! It faces right onto the beach & the bay below. In the distance, coastline & a mountain range with lights twinkling in the distance at night. Beautiful! The kitchen is very modern, with a huge fridge/freezer. Dish washing machine & modern cooker. Lots of cupboard space filled with all you'll need. There are 2 showers, very useful.
'Not so goods' Not the most comfortable bed I've slept in, but was ok. It is a long multi corridor walk to get to your apartment once your in, but the view is worth it.
'Not good' Arrangement to pick up keys was a pain in the backside. We only found out a couple of days before we flew we had to pick up the keys at the other end of town. Our transport pre booked. Had we known earlier, we could have picked them up on the way. It cost us 20 euro's in a taxi & around an hour total getting that sorted. There is no one there to greet or help you sort this out. We got help from the laundrette lady next door. You are literally left to fend for yourself on arrival there. Customer service, nil point! :-)
But the apartment has to be recommended, & the holiday too all in all.

What a great apartment! Quiet location but close enough to Salou centre to make it an easy walk to the bars and restaurants. Nice balcony and seaview. The bunk beds are great for kids and there's plenty of room. Great value if you're looking for a seaside holiday, relaxation and the fun of the theme parks. Would definitely return and easy to recommend for a family vacation. Gerard was a great host.

I, my husband and 3 children stayed a the Playamero and I would highly recommend this apartment to any family. It was very clean and well equipped with cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge, kettle etc. There was also large T.V.. Wi-fi was also available Their was a lifeguard at the swimming pool 12 hrs a day which was piece of mind when you have children. Very near shops, Restaurants and also bus stop. We were 1 minute walk from Beach, the photos show a true picture of this fabulous place. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Sheila Smith
