After reading very favourable reviews on this website I booked a midweek beak from which we have just returned.
All looks so lovely from the photographs in real life so different, the drains smelt so bad some times it made you feel sick. The food was ok, don't really fancy carrots and peas with my breakfast though or orange squash instead of orange juice.
The room we were given was like a garage with french doors at one end, I asked to be moved and offered to pay more this I was told was not possible as the hotel was full.
It was full with French Pensioners who took over the whole hotel, it was like having a holiday in a nursing home they were extremely bad mannered pushing you out of the way in the dinning room and made so much noice it was terrible. Such a shame lovely location. We checked out before before the end of our holiday and stayed at a hotel down the road which was 200% better.

Having read all the reviews on this hotel, my husband and I decided to stay for a 10 day break. The staff are excellent specially in the dining room. When we were there all of the french population seemed to staying there as well. All very good humoured and only too pleased to talk and chat even the language barrier didn't matter. The position of the hotel is great always something to watch in the bay. The sunsets didn't disappoint. The rooms are adequate although no hair driers and anything extra is charged. The TV was a welcome extra nearly all the english channels shown. The walk into the centre of Santa Ponsa isn't too far. The evenings turned very cold so outside entertainment in the square didn't happen. The food is plenty and a good choice particularly for breakfast. All the waiters are a good advert for the island they seemed to know just the places to visit, and their english is extremely good. The reception was also good in fact there was nothing you could find fault with considering it is only a 3star. Majorca seems to have been hit badly by the recession, plenty of restaurants closed and also hotels. Would go back to the hotel again if we decided to return to Majorca.

This was our 4th stay at the punta del mar and look forward to returning next year. We stayed in an apartment half board as there were 4 of us. .These consist of 2 rooms. Bedroom with 2 single beds, nice bathroom and very large balcony approx 16ft in length. the other room is the living area with bathroom, kitchen, 2 sofas and 2 single beds and another large balcony.both extending out over the sea. The food is excellent, plenty of choice and always a carvery every night. Lovely bar lounge and terrace overlooking 2 pools with beautiful views of the bay of santa ponsa. A short walk down the hill (10mins) takes you down to plenty of bars.

The views are wonderful. The hotel was full when I visited, with tour groups from France. This meant breakfast and dinner were chaos - no tables available (French and Dutch travellers shared with me some evenings), tables were not laid. At breakfast there were no glasses, cups or bowls. At dinner all the wine glasses were hot as they had just come out of the dishwasher. They really need to buy some more crockery! Otherwise it was a wonderful stay. The indoor pool was closed but I guess this was because the weather was much better than usual for October. All the rooms have great sea views, majority with a balcony and it is hard to drag yourself away. Snacks are available at the bar. The evening entertainment was geared towards the French whilst I was there. The pool area is spacious with loads of sunbeds available.

ifirst impressions made me wish we had booked for two weeks. room 308 - beautiful views - and you could hear the waves lapping on to the shore below. (makes a change from traffic noise etc). maid service excellent; all staff we met very friendly. restaurant lovely and airy - no mad queues at breakfast or dinner. we enjoyed the food and looked forward to dinner each night. went to the square and santa ponsa in evenings.the auld triangle and seans place both very enjoyable. we thought the bar closed early at hotel - so much for a nightcap. chatted to some lovely people from all over the place. a great hotel - very comfortable - very clean - and very friendly atmosphere/ we"ll be back!

Hotel beautiful with sea views from all rooms, reception and dining room, Located just 10 minute walk from Jardin Square with a range of bars and cafes with evening entertainment; 15 minutes walk from the main Santa Ponsa beach and sea front restaurants, bars etc.. Wide range of buffet style contental and English breakfast. Evening meal consisted of a range of buffet style salads, fish, meat, veg, fruit and various puddings which varied slightly each day. Our only negative comments are petty really but there was no hairdryer in the room so do take your own. Also you have to pay 2 Euros per day to hire a remote control from reception so that you can watch tv. There are only 2 computers for internet access internet which are located not very privately near the main door in the reception area. Do not try to book online for your flight home as we were advised by one receptionist that we could email the booking voucher to them to print off but when we tried another receptionist said we could not so we had to book in at the airport anyway. In all, a totally brilliant holiday which you must try.
