“Room for Improvement”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2010

We found the hotel had gone downhill this year - the food was edible but very repetative at night - breakfast was good and great choice. The rooms have been refurbished, and I agree with an other review, there is no privacy as all the furniture have not drawers or doors. The reception staff and the cleaners were very pleasant but we found the staff in the restaurant could have been more pleasant.

A lot of the bars and shops have closed down and the resort looked a bit tired!!!

The entertainment team were excellent at organising games during the day and they put on great shows at night, although we went out most nights as the price of drinks was very expensive.

Think we will give somewhere else a try next year

It could be a decent hotel. The rooms require upgrading and the walls seem paper thin, especially when you have a pretty active couple next door who every night would decide to try and wake the world with their antics!

The location is great, really close to the beach and market.

The pool could be better, the battle in the morning for space/chairs is an absolute joke.

Food was average at best.

Entertainment for young children was ok, nothing special and we've certainly seen better. The main guy, I can't remember his name, but he's nothing more than a hyper active muppet.

Poor hotel for what it costs. Very basic rooms and very noisy. Food is horrendous and inedible. We ate out every night so that was more money we had to spend. They even charged us for a kettle!
Not impressed at all. We were very excited about returning back to SP as we have many friends out there and this was a let down.

Firstly and most importantly, I am not a fussy, hard to please person far from it so please take my comments on the understanding that I only went expecting what I had seen in the brochure and from the positive comments I read on here and on the Thomson website before I booked.
Main problems: Hotel is located opposite the locals football training ground, with outer buildings still being built, so not only do you get the noise from the football matches which seem to be daily but the building work too. At night if you are located at the front of the hotel you get dance music and a very giddy DJ from 8pm till 1am and with a 2 year old this was a nightmare, I asked to move rooms and was told no !
The rooms are VERY basic, not even any drawers to give you some privacy with your underwear, so everything is on show for the cleaners. You have to pay extra for fridges, remote control, kettle, iron, safety deposit box - all per day !! £70 was stumped up front for these usual basics.
Food: Breakfast alright to be honest, however evening meal was appauling. We called it the slop house, as you were greated everyday by cold potatoes and veg, meat in some kind of liquid gravy and lots of cold food i.e. ham, cheese etc which simply does not satisfy you after a long day by the pool. This ruined our holiday and we had to spend even more money going out for meals.
Please do not pay nearly 3k like we did and end up coming home early (we came back today instead of 6 days time). Spend your money elsewhere !!!

our arrival coincided with the end of the Spanish pensioners holiday and everything including food and entertainment seemed to be cut to the minimum. Certainly not 4T rating.
Things improved after a couple of days(start of the season) but waiter service in the evening was sporadic at best.
The hotel itself is very clean but basic, it appears recently refurbished as all the decor and furniture looked new
Food was ok, breakfast was pretty good ,but evening meals varied, often the food looked dried up and unappetising although there was freshly cooked roast meat every day.
Pool ok but always freezing. Plenty of space and sun beds and plenty of entertainment.
The same team entertained in the evenings as well from around 8.30pm
The hotel is quite disabled friendly although there is only one lift suitable for wheelchairs and this is quite a tight fit. I don't think it will take electric wheelchairs. These are left to charge up in the reception area.
From reception, the pool area and the restaurant are all on the same level so are easily accessible.
Access to the beach, shops, cafes etc is good, there are plenty of dropped kerbs and ramps although there are a couple of banks to climb further into the resort. Electric scooters though are easily available and relatively cheap to hire (compared to Canaries)
Overall this is quite a nice hotel but it needs some tweaking before it merits a 4T rating.

I read a few bad reviews on this hotel before going and was not sure what to expect.

The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.

The food was good with lots of choice, just not always the same standard you would get in the UK.

All in all we had a fab holiday and I would definately recommend this hotel. The only thing I would have maybe changed was the evening entertainment and made some of it a little more child friendly, but this may have been just because it was the beginning of the season and there was not loads of kids there.

immaculate, spacious hotel complex with all of the facilities you would expect including large outdoor pool ( no fighting for sunbeds), indoor pool which was quite small, good choice of food on a daily basis if a little bland. The chef will however cook to order if your child isnt keen on the choices. Rooms were a good size although a tripple room wasnt any bigger than a double, just an added bed. The maid service was excellent.
We asked to move room after 2 nights due to noise from the bar, this wasnt a problem & we moved the following day with no fuss. The proximity of the hotel was close to the beach ( 100m), & this was beautifully clean!. The hotel was within a 5-10 min walking distance of supermarkets, shops, pubs & taverna's & bus stops.
The BIGGEST credit has to go to the amazing entertainment team ( MAX, OLLIE & ROSH), these guy's were fantsatic & totally made my son's holiday, nothing was too much trouble, they made him feel very special & involved him in everything, it got to the point where he didnt want to leave the complex for fear of missing a game or the evening shows. They have brought a shy reserved 5 year old out of his skin & filled him with confidence, smiles & happiness.
A holiday we wont forget ! thankyou very much to the 3 of you !
