“Moans and groans”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

Got home and the more I thought about it the more I felt I had to write it down. The kids didn't notice much but me and my Mum felt we didn't get a great deal. Dull rooms, lumpy old beds and moaning staff (under their breath) at the holiday makers. I saved hard for this week and it wasn't what the girl told me it would be. Ok some of it looks the part and the pool is a good size but all in all there needs to be changes to make it a good holiday village. Not impressed.

This hotel has obviously had a lot of money thrown at it..Although it's clearly not finished, spending money on a refit doesn't make the other problems go away. The room was basic but the problem was the outside noise from the street. Traffic is constant all day and you get some clever twits screaching along at all hours. Then there's the holiday fun noise from people going home at night, not fun when you're trying to ignore the hard bed and get some shut eye. Too hot to have windows closed we were in a no win situation. It's difficult to feel positive when you've had broken sleep.

had an excellent time here, ok the rooms need revamped but really how long do you spend in the room? they are on a par with most spanish hotels ive stayed in anyway.

the hotel looks amazing and the pool areas are also excellent, lots to do with my 3yr old and 1yr old.

went all inclusive, very glad we did, food was fine, it is only a 3star so why expect 5star food, wine and beer are spot on

staff really make this hotel excellent, jack sparrow (robert) and paul the barman from derry both deserve a special mention as they work very hard. and robert is an elvis fan also so he's already a great guy.

will def be back here in next couple of years
ignore the bad reviews i was really pleased with the hotel and staff

We stayed here for two weeks this June, and whilst I wasn't expecting much as I knew the rooms had not been updated during this phase of the revamp, I was still pleased with what we found! Yes the rooms are dated and need to be refurbished to match the high standard of the rest of the complex, but they were clean, spacious, had a tv with decent kiddie channels (as well as bbc etc), and the rooms were cleaned at least every second day (beds made, towels replaced etc)....the pool area is excellent, the slides were a huge hit with our 7yr old whilst the kids club was a god send for our 4yr old who counted down the hours until he could go every day!! The staff were brilliant, the adult entertainment staff encouraged the mammies and daddies to play darts, get involved with aqua aerobics etc and the kids club staff entertained them all day and then put on shows in the evenings! We didn't go all inclusive but if we had decided to we could have paid the hotel directly when we got there (much cheaper than going through the travel agent)...there are loads of lovely restaurants around so we ate out every night and returned for the evening entertainment back at Pirate Village! I would recommend this holiday to my friends and family, and we hope to return again next year!!!

this hotel is so much fun for kids, it have plenty of water slides and challenging pool areas.
they also have good staff thats keeps life going. Its thake 4 minutes to the beach. Its mostly people from england staying here. food was good.
The sleeping moment, was the worst thing with the hotel, the beds was very hard and the road outside was very noisy!

Room Tip: the hotel is like a "U" don't stay in the middle, the road goes true your head.

Having came here with three others we were surprised with the cleanliness of the apt. Having just booked a last minute holiday we were not expecting much.Overall, we had a great experience here, staff were pleasurable to deal with. Pool was lovely. These apts are just outside santa ponsa town but still within a short walk.

Just returned from a week spent at the pirates village. Hotel looks impressive on the outside and the greeting was warm and friendly by reception and hotel manager. i was worried about the apartments after reading previous comments although dated they are a typical holiday apartment do need modernizing but are clean and a good size i'm sure once they have been done out it will make the hotel that bit more special. The pool area is fantastic and we hardly saw our little boy all week as he loved the water slides there was always a sunbed available no matter what time of day. We were all inclusive and have to say the food was ok never expected restaurant quality have had worse but there was always plenty of choice and constantly refreshing what was out. The main disappointment for us was the evening entertainment the best nights were the bird of prey show and the Pirate fancy dress comp night as the kids were entertained all night. The animation team could do a lot more with the kids on an evening it was the worst kids entertainment i have seen, the kids were more interested in running around the pool, and the 2 female singers were like something off phoenix nights two middle aged women singing karaoke. Also found it strange how the animation team all had a Friday off work never heard of an entertainments team having a day off together! The bar staff were all very friendly and helpful and the good looking life guards were a bonus too. All in all we did have a lovely time and once the rooms are done out and if the evening entertainment was improved then we would definitely go back.

Room Tip: i wouldn't recommend a ground floor apartment as you are encased by trees so have no pool view a...
