“NOT FOR US.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014

Luckily our room was away from the stage and the bar so we didn't have to hear the noise but the number of drunk people gathering everywhere with plastic cups of drink and shouting and getting drunk was unbearable. Our room was very dark and the windows were tiny like the size of my car windows. The food was poor most nights and I think I only actually ate a proper meal once due to the lack of things that looked edible. My kids said they thought it was boring and found the big groups of rowdy kids too much, so we kept away from the pool most days. The beach was nice in the resort and there are restaurants within walking distance, which saved our holiday a bit, but overall this was not a good experience for us.

just back from 1 week all inclusive, the kids didn't want to leave! entertainment for them is fantastic they were never bored and the pool was the best we have ever been too although at this time of year a bit cold, but that didn't stop them. we have lots of praise for Robert (entertainment staff) he is lovely and great with everyone, he even shouted on us on his day off to say goodbye and get a photo before we left (couldn't meet a nicer person)! pirates are fab and its fun for the kids when they are there. pirates got talent was great fun for all. being all inclusive we can say that we arrived first day of the season and to start with the eggs were under cooked along with some other things, but we did speak to the chefs and staff about this and by the third day they really turned it around and breakfast was great, theres plenty of selection at lunch and dinner with something for everyone (unless you are really picky), one night there were chicken nuggets that were fab then they didn't have them again but we mentioned this to staff and that evening there were nuggets for the kids. the staff listen and really take things on board and try to sort anything that's wrong. lastly our apartment was ideal, very clean with regular maid service and all things you need if you were self catering (kitchen with microwave and cooker hobs, fridge etc). overall we had a great holiday and would return anytime to pirates village!!

Room Tip: we had no problems with our rooms on the third floor (320,321 and 324) above the slides

We have just returned from 5 night self catering and I must say that the Hotel is great for all ages. The staff are very good and helpful when needed. There is activities every day on the hour for the children including table-tennis, football, gymnastics, rifle shooting. There is also a kids club with numerous more activities available during the day except Saturday. Kids disco is 8-9 pm and this is followed by more entertainment each night at 9.30pm. we had the pleasure of Peter Pan, Pirates Got Talent, Pirate Quiz. (missed the other shows). Room was very tidy and cleaned 5 days a week. Basic kitchen, including fridge. TV has numerous channels in English including the kids channels. Noise was a problem after the evening show had finished with holiday makers staying outside and talking loudly, but to be fair they are on holiday as well. Try to get a room as far away from the stage as possible and you should be okay. I must mention that this hotel appears very suitable for disabled children as well. It has level - access in nearly all the area's and the staff are extremely helpful. If you want a safe and friendly environment, that is also warm and welcoming for children then this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Rear of hotel is best

Me and my daughter and grandaugter stayed at the hotel for five nights ( wish we had booked longer ) Staff are very friendly and helpful. We had fun from the minute we arrived. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anybody with children.

Hotel was great, exactly what we expected .

Ask for a room away from the entertainment , we paid a premium for a pirate themed room which unfortunately put us right in front of the entertainment which was a racked from 8-11 but that's ok , problem came once I took the kiddo to bed - the noise from the adults at the bar was like trying to sleep in grand central station

( I'd also say the windows out onto the walkways need to be double glazed ( or at least close, ours didn't ...) And you would be surprised at the racket everyone makes going past your window at 2/3/4 an then again at 7am going to 'claim sunloungers '

Good wee holiday but holly mother of god don't expect to get any sleep, ever

We had stayed at Pirates when it was called Gran Santa Ponsa hotel in 2009 and back then it was good and lot's of fun and based on that we booked to go back in September. The price had suddenly gone up loads but due to the pictures we paid and went and chose the all inclusive. The food was not what you would expect and we only ate there because we had paid for it otherwise we would have never gone to eat there as it was a mess. Kids that put their hands into the food and no one to supervise or clean up. The rooms were good but the bathrooms had a lot of black grouting in between the tiles which we did not appreciate and they need doing up. The entertainers are great but the theme is a bit tiring with the same old same, time after time. Bit of a let down compared to last time.
