Stayed for 11 nights at the beginning of may all inclusive. Very aprehensive after reading other reviews but pleasantly surprised. Yes the food can be basic sometimes but plenty of choice and yes meal times are hectic at the start of service....so eat a little later, its a very busy family hotel.
Plenty of sunbeds to go around but not enough umbrellas. The life guards of which ther are two are excellent and very much on the ball at all times.
Some rooms have been refurbished some not, this i understand will be rectified next year. We had a none re furbished room but it was clean and after all we only slept there and did not spend our holiday locked away in our room.
As people have previously said the entertainment area does get noisy at night but everything is wrapped up for 10.30-11.00PM. Didnt come accross any drunken and unpleasant louts just familys having fun.
Now the entertainment team....THE BEST i have ever encountered at a holiday hotel they really are something special and work very hard, the Pirate entertainment is EXCELLENT kids will love it.
So theres nothing flash about the rooms in this hotel but the entertainment, its situation and the care taken by the staff and the kids facilities are great.
We hope to return next year

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the stage if you want afternoon/evening sun on your balcony

Excellent pool area with various slides for the kids. Family shows on every night but Saturday. Rooms are clean and well kept (basic but how long are you actually in it). Upgraded to all inclusive on arrival which is good value overall and saves having to carry money when at the pool. Sometimes the buffet lacked variety but overall it was decent. Great fun for all the family, and plenty to do in the kids club. Would definitely return

I don't know how people can give a bad review on the Pirate village. It is advertised as a 3 key accommodation, and when you get there, it's that and more.
I stayed there for a week in May 2013, with partner and 2 year old. The weather wasn't the best but that didn't stop us having a good time. The Pirates (Entertainers) were around all day organising different activities such as darts, shooting target, yoga, poolside games, limbo dancing, chess and loads more. I can't comment much about the mini-club but kids there seemed to be having a great time with the pirates. I reckon that the weather, not being so good, restricted a lot of activities that the pirates would have planned.
Night entertainment is very good, with something on every night. We went AI and thought it was well worth it. There was a great selection available with fresh fruit and salad every time. Bear in mind, you are in Spain so things are done the Spanish way, so the salad may have olive oil on it and the sausages are not Irish/British. The Paella there is superb! There is different meat and fish on every day.
Plenty to eat and drink there all day. The beer you get when AI is Cruz Campo...It's beer. The spirits are local but same effect!
The rooms are spacious. I did put a comment that there should be Double beds in the apartments, thats the only fault I'ld have.
Its about a 5-7 minute walk from the main strip of Santa Ponsa, which is just perfect. It's nice and quiet at night and away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Ponsa.
Bar staff there are A1. The Manager, Stef, is great and very approachable. The guys at reception are very helpful and speak good English.
The pool area is amazing. Pirate attacks happen few times a week and is very enjoyable.
There are lifeguards there all day...needless to say that's no excuse for a parent to let their child out of their sight.
We were never woken by sea gulls or beer barrels and the staff and maintenance guys there are quick to respond to any complaint you may have should you have a problem with anything.
Overall, a fantastic holiday, and looking forward to returning there in 2014.

Room Tip: For a nice pool view, ask for room on 2nd or 3rd floor. There are lifts so don't worry about push chairs

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff @ PiratesVillage for an excellent holiday. Just arrived back today and had a wonderful time on my grandchildrens first every holiday. From been meet on arrival by a pirate (the kids loved this) to leaving we had a wonderful time. The rooms are large enough bright and airy. The pools are great for the kids and adults. The food was excellent with an enough of a choice to keep everyone happy and plenty of fresh salads and fruit, snacks during the day and ice cream for the kids. Drinks where help yourself for all inclusive guest's except spirits (which you can understand). The staff where helpful and we had leave our buggy at the airport and when I spoke to reception about it they are arranged for us to hire a buggy for the week which was a great help and a lot of hotels could follow their example. Entertainment is geared towards children (which you would expect) and it was great, mini disco on every night for them and a other shows. On Wednesday night there was a pirate show and I think even the adults enjoyed that. Thanks to Captain Shadow (my grandsons new hero) and his crew for putting on a wonderful nights entertainment. Last but not least, a big thank you to Christian (spelling?) his family own the hotels and having spent sometime taking to him you can see that they want to do their very best for their guest's so they will keep coming back year after year.

We have just returned from pirates village and we are missing it already .we stayed in room 227 it overlooked the pool like all the apartments it was basic but clean the air con was fab could do with some new beds but apart from that the apartment was good.we stayed all inclusive and we thought the food was very good especially breakfast , wine , beer, juice ,soft drinks and coffee and tea on tap you just help yourself which was great also ice cream too , the snack bar was good too serving chips burgers hot dogs and toasties which were good too. Our son loved the hotel run kids club that ran from 10.30-5pm he went most days. Pool was good but a bit cold and entertainment was really good for the kids, all in all this is a great place to stay if you have children it's a stroll into Santa ponsa which is beautiful and has many shops bars and restaurants and a lovely beach there is a supermarket across the road from pirates or a larger one on the same side just turn right out of pirates and it's a 2 min walk . We would defiantly return here our son can't wait to go back ...thank you for such a lovely holiday

Stayed for 1 week with my two sons. They are Pirate mad and the idea of seeing Pirates on holiday was off the wall for them. Arrived to a guy dressed up and the boys were loving it. Shame the reception couldn't handle the number of people waiting to check in, it took ages. The room was a bit of a shocker - small, bit past it and the bed was not from Dreams!! Like people have mentioned before the pool area and the shows for the kids are just what they want, need to give the adults some more comfort. Disappointing for grown ups.
