“Fun but loud”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

A great hotel for the kids, with a lot of fun going on. We were met by pirates and they followed us to the bus when we left. Great consept. Fantastic facade, nice common areas and helpful staff. The pool area was great, with depths for everyone from babies to adults. A lot happening all the time - from children`s club to water aerobic.

We didn`t have all incluse and never tried the food - but it didn`t look very sophisticated.

The rooms were simple but ok. The cleaning wasn`t too good the first week, but much better the next week. The aircondition was placed by the door to the veranda, which made it difficult to cool down the bedroom.

The worst thing about Pirates Village was the noise in the evenings. The shows would go on until 22.30, which made it impossible to enjoy sitting on the balcony - even though our room was as far away from the entertainment as possible. Difficult to understand that the music has to be so loud so late in a family hotel almost every evening.

Room Tip: As far away from the middle as possible. And as high up as possible.

I have just visited pirates village with my family (hubby, six year old daughter and three year old son) and it was brilliant! The food was really tasty with plenty to choose from. We had a full English every morning. The entertainment was brilliant with live shows including fireworks! On the Monday there was a Peter Pan show that the children could star in (they had to go to the kids club and sign up at ten thirty on the Monday morning to sign up which wasn't advertised so watch out for that). There was also quite a bit of competition for sun beds with people getting to the pool before six thirty to put towels on beds or at least save an umbrella! There was plenty of beds but it might be best to buy yourself an umbrella for the stay save yourself the hassle.

This was our second visit to pirates in two years and the improvement from our first trip was vast. We had a great time first time round and were nervous as to whether it would be the same, in fact it was even better.
The staff are great always with a smile and nothing is too much trouble entertainment was improved with better pirate shows and all round family fun. Not enough seating set out but waiters will set out a table if asked
Rooms are very basic but clean apparently having spoken to staff are being revamped for 2015. Themed rooms come with a double bed which would have been nice in the non themed rooms.
Only down side we found was trying to get a sun bed and brolly. Hotel policy says no reserving but towels and placement usually commence from around 6.30 so no chance of a lie in if you want a good spot by the pool.
Check out prices direct as we saved a packet on the package deals, also transfers take around an hour to hour and a half on the bus or 20 mins in a taxi best 38 euros we spent allowed the kids to have an extra hour in bed and breakfast.
We had a great time good value and trying to improve all the time

lovely themed hotel, perfect for familys with young children. clean and tidy and very friendly and helpful staff. the food isn't the best I've had but all in all theres always something to eat and to be fair the breakfast is pretty good. lacking in variety a bit, but you won't starve to death. I'd go again no question

Room Tip: all rooms face the pool. maybe ask to not have a ground floor as you will only have a wall as your v...

Had the snacbar under us, and with " all inclusive " guests, (who had to many drinks, ) we saw too many children crying , and would go to bed........ The room was Ok, but bedroom should have a cooler, it is too warm I think. I missed a coffe-maker... Only for All Inclusive persons, I was not..

Room Tip: Corner suites will be our next

Brilliant place to visit. The apparetments were very spacious we had a 1 bedroom apartment and there was 4 of us, 2 adult and 2 children ages 2 & 5.

The bedroom and bathroom were clean but the kitchen needed a bit of attention but I didn't mind doing it myself then I knew it was done, I'm a bit of a clean freak!!!

The pool was brilliant and my boys, and we too, loved it. Very clean, the slide were great and the life guards were brilliant too.

The entertainment was good especially on our last day on Sunday. We were in the pool and all these pirate started running around trying to find the captain. The life guards cleared the deep pool which is in the middle ready. It all ended with a lot of laughs and the pirates being thrown in the pool. Brilliant fun. The night entertainment goes on until about 9.30/10pm which was fine for us because we all had a siesta then we could enjoy the evening entertainment.

We had an unfortunate incident, which we soon learnt from, so head up everyone!! Our 2 year old went in from the balcony (leaving us all outside) and slammed the door shut all in a matter of seconds!!! Unfortunately there is no way to stop it locking when shut or to open if from the outside so we were stuck out there!! Luckily I managed to get a young boys attention and he went and got the lovely lady manager (sorry can not remember her name ) who came to our rescue along with the doorman!! She was more bothered about keeping our 2 year old who was inside happy and calm whilst they got in the appartment to let us back in :-) Note to self, put a chair in the doorway next time you go on the balcony!! Ha ha.

We were self catering so I can not comment on the food.

The location was perfect. Straight across the road from a big supermarket which was very reasonable and only 5 mins walk to a lovely beach and readtaurants the pizzeria near the beach (and the bus stop) was amazing and do takeaways too. We were just out of the centre of Santa ponsa which was also perfect because it meant it was nice and quiet.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and always smiling.

There is a small arcade there with a few games, air hockey and a pool table which was handy for the boys.

We did not use the kids club so again sorry can not comment on this but if it was run by the entertainment crew I do not doubt that it will have been good.

We were very sad to come home and wishes we had stayed for 2 weeks.

Thanks you for a fabulous holiday Pirate Village Crew ☺️

What a lovely, friendly hotel we had a great family holiday, the staff couldnt do enough and obviously enjoy working for the hotel and the manager is visible daily also very friendly and approachable.
Its a great place for families of all ages lots to do for the children and the kids club is especially good with the children.
Food was very good not loads of choice but enough and aimed at what we would want
and eat in the UK.
We would not hesitate to return
