For the price I paid I would say this place is decent value. It is trying to punch above its weight a little, which is to be applauded but cheap attempts at beds and loungers made from wooden pallets give it away.

The 2015 renovation still gives the place a fresh feel and the light and bright decor is pleasant. A few let downs are little things like the external painting on the balconies, a little tired and need a lick of paint.

The location is marvellous, 5 minutes walk to the beach and start of restaurants and bars and, excuse the snob in me, far enough away from 'the square' for it not be part of your holiday.

I loved Santa Ponsa, first time and I will be back and yes to the Plazamar too, if the price is right!

Just back from a fantastic week all inclusive stay at this little gem of a hotel. This place has a fantastic atmosphere and is excellent for family’s and couples alike. The kids entertainers Elva and Anton are truly amazing and were loved by all the kids and adults - they do a fantastic job at keeping everyone entertained and are a real asset to the hotel. All the staff were friendly and very hard working.

There is plenty of choice for food, breakfast - large choice of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts, large gluten free choice, bread, rolls, baguettes, cold meats and cheeses, sausages, bacon, scrambled & boiled eggs, beans and freshly made pancakes & fried eggs to order. Lunch & dinner there is always pizza and chips, fresh cooking station where they cook chicken/fish/steak etc, carved meat station, and 3-4 hot dishes stews, bolognaise etc. Also lovely fresh salad. Something for everyone.

The rooms are well equipped, cleaned with fresh towels daily.

It was Halloween while we were there and wow what an effort the hotel go to with decorations, and prizes for fancy dress are amazing - my daughter won a massive candy cake full of sweets.

We will definitely return to this fantastic place. Thank you for an amazing week.

We travelled as a family with 3 kids (8,5 and 6 months) all inclusive and after getting a cheap deal and reading some of the reviews we were worried. Thankfully we had absolutely nothing to worry about.

When we arrived at 12pm we weren't able to get our room keys until 2 and this was a bit of a pain but we didn't let it ruin things as we are would expect that this is how things work in Britain so no different in Majorca. We just went for lunch in the restaurant while we waited.

Our room was spacious with cooker etc... all you would need if you were self catering. We were on the bottom floor next to the speakers at the entertainment stage. This was not an issue for us and we appreciated where we were because if the kids were tired and wanted to go to bed after the kids disco then we could sit on our balcony and listen to the entertainment and all music went off at 11 and the hotel was very quiet unlike other places we have visited. The only thing with the room was that we had an ajoining door, that was locked, to the next room and we could hear everything but we didn't spend much time in our room anyway so once again it wasn't a problem for us. The shower wasn't great and as others have said the floor would get really wet but a couple of towels down and it was fine it certainly wasn't an issue for us and a 3 star accomodation we wouldn't expect power showers and shower cubicles anyway. We were given a baby bath for our 6 month old and thought that was a nice touch.

The hotel was really nice and clean and the maids work tirelessly all day to keep it that way. The food was exceptional for a 3 star with different kinds of meat on offer each night and loads of different choices including potato dishes, rice dishes, pizza, chips, salad bar, breads, cheese, cold meats etc... We had a fussy eater and she always managed to eat something and loved the pancakes for breakfast where you could also have a cooked breakfast, breads, toast, cereals and there was always an abundance of fruit available all day. Seemingly you could order hotdogs, burgers and chips as a snack during the day on all inclusive but we never done that as we ate in the restaraunt and were always full. The drinks available on all inclusive were good too with pepsi, good Rose wine, slushes and icecreams for the kids and my hubby said the beer was good too. There were also some cocktails available on all inclusive and it was an added bonus that you could have a pint glass and wine glass rather that the ususual plastic cups at most AI places.

The pool area was great with a small pool and big pool with slides. It was a small area and I can imagine it would get busy in the height of summer but for us it was great as the hotel was quiet and we never had to fight over sunbeds. The entertainment is what really makes this hotel, especially if you have kids and don't venture out much. There was a kids disco at 8:30 then Bingo and then a show. We had a parrot show, funny acrobatic show, serious acrobatic show, magician, Brazilian dancers and were really very impressed. Our kids loved it and it was really geared up for families. We had a couple of days of rain that isn't ideal and decided to put our two oldest kids in to the kids club with Elva. She deserves special mention as my kids loved her so much. We wouldn't normally use the kids club but after going once, they were desperate to go every morning and made t-shirts, pizza's, coloured in, had picture contest, painted sand, made clay and painted them and so much more. Anton was great too and was always out and about at the pool and evening entertainment where he got people involved and was really enthusiastic. There was always loads going on at the pool like zumba, water Gym and entertainers who would come and juggle, make the kids balloons and they had darts competitions etc too.

I read a few reviews that this hotel was up and down hills and 10-15 mins from the beach which is just rubbish. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from shops and the beach and a 10 minute walk from the main bit with bars etc up by McDonalds and Burger king. Yes, there is a slight hill/ramp that you can use for buggies/wheelchair accesss at the hotel but it's definitely not the huge hill I expected when I arrived! I can only imagine that some maybe tried to go to the shops another way!

Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for somewhere quiet and smaller than the usual big resorts. Santa Ponsa itself is lovely with a lovely beach and we would love to come back to the Plazamar Serenity Resort. I have actually been quite disappointed to look up Jet 2 to book for next year only to find it is unavailable :( Keep up the good work Plazamar and for anyone thinking of going the negative reviews are rubbish, if you are a family looking for a good, chilled out holiday with lovely food and good choice on all inclusive then this is the place for you.

We visited here for a week at the beginning of October. Cannot fault the hotel one bit, the rooms were spacious, and very clean. You have your own cooker, fridge etc and also balcony which is good to sit out at late at night. The staff are unbelievably helpful, they all work so hard and it really does show. We went all inclusive so we got drinks and food available at all times, food was brill. There are a few negative reviews about the food but we loved it. For a 3 star hotel you get a brill buffet, there is something different every night. Lunch is a bit repetitive but I still can’t complain. Bar staff are also brilliant. They are there every time willing to help with choice of drink between cocktails etc. I advise anyone coming here to either choose all inclusive or upgrade to it, you’ll save a fortune and won’t be disappointed. Every day our room was cleaned, the hotel in general is very clean. Spacious pool, plenty of sun loungers. Entertainment at night is top class! And very good for the kids. The main entertainers are very good at their job and welcome everyone to take part in it, only thing is they don’t do entertainment on a Saturday night. Overall I would visit this hotel again, it’s everything you look for and more from a 3 star hotel! Also very close to shops and beaches!
