Well what can i say. My wife and i decided as we are expecting our first child to get away before the new addition arrives so i searched www.alpharooms.com for a cheap holiday. We have always stayed in hotels before and didn't know what to expect but it was AMAZING. We arrived to the apartments at 12am to be met by a very friendly receptionist who told us what and where to go. (Older bald receptionist man wasn't that friendly - but this never bothered us) got to the room and didn't know what to do as so dark. Room was very clean and all you needed was right there, no tv but you could hire from reception along with AirCon. We got up next morning and down to the pool to be greeted by Agustine the entertainment man, he was excellent go everyone involved in games etc. I never do these activities as all i want to do is chill but this time i did. The range of activities were good. The only downside was the steps.......Going down them to the beach/shops etc was fine but getting up them was a real struggle, we had to stop for a breathe half way up. However you can walk the lovely walk back up if you want up past the Hogan Stand bar. This is a nice walk or you can take a taxi from beach or town back to apartments for €3/3.50 quite reasonable, however try to have the exact change as no taxi drivers seem to like to give any change!! We eat in a number of places the best of which was Mrs Murphys Kitchen, i read about it on here and thought to try, well it was the best food yet. very reasonable. A number of bars to choose from too, a good one we visited each night was Strings Bar, very good live music each night, then the cocktail bar, Dirty Nellys is good, well to be honest they are all good. you will be asked by people to come in for a drink, i would reccommend doing this as you get a good FREE shot with your first drink.

Oh just to let you know when you do some shopping remember that you can buy break, milk, juice, pepsi and water etc from reception so it means you dont have to hike the steps with all these items that you can buy at the apartments.

All in all i booked the holiday including flights, luggage, transfers and apartments all for £188 each. I would definately com back to the Vista Club Apartments and will stay in apartments again. if anyone has any questions just ask.

enjoy your holiday and tell Agustine that Colm and Rachael say hello!

Room Tip: all rooms very good with pool and sea views.

Me & my boyfriend came here for a cheap last minute get away,We got here late at night so was hard to see what it was like until the next morning but when we did wake up & looked out of the balcony we had such amazing views of the beach! The apartments were really big & maid came every 2 days. The beach is only a few minutes walk BUT its the steps that are the problem!!You can only really go down them where all the action is unless you go around the long winding road.we are both young so they weren't that much of a problem but they are not for the faint hearted! There are a few places to eat but by far Mrs Murphys was the best food! They have a menu where you pay for the main course but get starter & dessert for free!!The food is absolutely beautiful! Overall the hotel was basic but its what we got for £69 for both of us for a week so we didnt expect the ritz!! The views compensated for the fact there was no tv in the room =) i would recomend the hotel for a basic cheap holiday.

I stayed at the vista club from thr 2nd to the 9th of september 2010 what a fantastic holiday would definatley go back!
The hotel is clean and tidy with huge room that is cleaned twice a week which were nt a problem to us. The pool area was lovely could relax and chill out lovely there. There was a charge for the sun bed of 2 euro per day.The staff are friendly and really make your holiday. People complain about the steps but they are not that bad and there is another way around that is just a steedy road. the are in which the hotel is at is lovely you could not wish for more bars and restuarants. THere is also a square to the right of the hotel where they do outdoor entertainment for example westlife girlsaloud. they also have parrot shows and there is a mini disco every night in which the children really enjoy.
i will definatley be returning to santa ponsa and the vista club as well.

Stayed here with group of friends male and female. Vista club was taking bookings from families and the obvious party goers mixed together, would never bode well for either sides.
The location was awkward, the 170 odd steps made it a chore to get to anywhere restaurants beach etc
. Rooms were fairly clean, spacious, were not garanteed to get clean sheets and towels every two days
Vista club was making their money by charging extra for everything, sunbeds, airconditioning, which was definetly necesay, safes etc
Was very expensive for a very basic hotel.

I stayed at the vista club with my partner and two friends (seperates rooms next door to each other). On arrival I wasnt inmpressed with the outside of the hotel as it didnt look the best and reception wast much better, it was very old and basic but nevertheless the stff were very friendly and not a bother. The room key was a bit unpractical as it had a block of wood attached to it but that wasnt a problem, was actually quite funny. Be aware that there is an additional deposit of 50euro to be paid on arrival per room but this is returned when checking out (extra money to spend it duty free). In reception there are two computers with internet access for a small charge.
When entering the room, i personally wasnt impressed. It was a bit dated and the kitchen area and bathroom were a lot to be desired. On the plus, the rooms were very spacious and our balcony had a great view of the pool and beach.
The pool area was lovely, large pool with sunloungers(be warned you have to pay 2euros for a lounger per day). Bar beside pool serves lovely food and all staff here ar lovely. Very simple "games" area that includes pool table, and a few other games machines. Nothing to write home about.
The location of the hotel itself is great, minus the load of steps leading to the strip of many bars and restaurants and excellent beach. (There is a taxi that bypasses the steps if you find them too duanting).
Other must do and see places include: the beach, absolutely gorgeous however you have to pay 5euros for a sun lounger on the beach per day ... the shamrock bar, amazing! Great craic, fun and late nights to be had here, really made the holiday in my opinion... the spanish square, simply a 2min walk when you turn left coming out of the hotel, lots of bars and restaurants and outdoor entertainment and tribute acts to be seen all free of charge!
Overall i loved the resort but would not return to the vista club as it was a bit too basic for me. Ideal for somebody looking for "somewhere simply to put thei heads down" and not spending much time in the room.

These were nice apartments. clean and spacious. However on arrival we had some hidden expenses. we had to give 50 euro refundable deposit (returned on checkout). With 2 babies under two we ideally needed 2 cots which we were told would be in the apartment. However we had to pay 5 euro per night for a cot so we only hired one cot. These I really felt should come as standard! Asides from these we hired a television for 30 euro and 20 deposit and we got air conditioning for 30 euro. although these were optional we found they were pretty essential with 2 babies. The quick way down to strip that only took a few mins was to go down nearly 200 steps or with buggies it was 10- fifteen min walk down a long incline. way up for both ways not much fun!! staff in poolside restaraunt not child friendly either. Overall, I would not go back here with kids. Not a bad option for a couple but would not recommend to anyone who can't handle steps! hope this helps someone. fabulous views from apartments bt not worth the awkward location!

I stayed at Vista Club with my friend from 9th to 16th Sept 2010. The studio apartment we stayed in was quite nice and clean and the towels changed every couple of days. The details given about the apartments on various holiday company sites are very misleading, for instance, It reads as though Vista Club provide a fully equipped kitchenette in the studio apartment complete with an oven, hairdryer, iron and board and on some sites you could be lead to believe that there is a safe in your room but this is not the case. We did not have an oven, just 2 hob rings and there was a charge of 30 Euro per week to hire a microwave, and a charge of 11 Euro per week for a hairdryer. In fact the only things that were not charged for was the kettle (which we had to have 2 replacements for as they didn't work) and the toaster. The sunbeds by the pool are charged at 2 E per day and the pool bar drinks are very expensive. We paid 1.20 E for a very small bottle of water, but they did throw in a paper cup and some ice, so I suppose we should think ourselves lucky!!!!! Pretty much everthing you might need to use on a holiday comes with a charge and this is on top of the 50E deposit you have to leave with reception on arrival. In short if you are staying at Vista club you will need to factor in all of the aditional costs involved and take extra cash!! or a better idea would be to look elsewhere for apartments that don't rip you off or are at least honest about their charges before you get there!! Our apartment was surrounded by groups of young people coming back in the very early hours of the morning very drunk and very noisy so there was very little sleep to be had, I can't complain about that because they are just kids having a good time and doing what teenagers do and good on em!!, however, again this is the sort of information that should provided by Vista club owners and all of the holiday companies that promote it, so that people looking for a bit of peace and quiet and relaxation can at least make an informed decision on their holiday choice.
The route into the main town is via a steep set of steps, ok going down but coming up can be a bit of a mission so I would not reccommend it for older people, or anyone with any walking difficulties or families with small children and puschairs.
Overall, I would not recommend these apartments unless you are a hen party, stag party or a group of young party animals with plenty of spare cash!!! Its quite good for night life if you like the Irish scene as there are lots of Irish pubs.
