“Great Hotel - Excellent Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014

We stayed here mid March 2014.

Hotel is well situated, with handy free shuttles to Playa del Ingles Beach. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, with a small kitchenette. Food was good, although the variety was not huge. Drinks, especially the cocktails on the all-inclusive package were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially AMPARO behind the bar and INGER on reception. Hotel is quiet, being adults only. As previously stated, the vast majority of the guests are middle aged Scandanavians. We were initially allocated room 117 ( which is not a particularly good room, with a view of a wall ! ) but were quickly moved to room 104 the following day. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to others without hesitation.

Room Tip: The majority of the rooms are fine, but try and avoid rooms 17, 16, and those above them, i.e. 117,1...

This is officially a 2 star hotel, largely because of the relatively basic amenities, but I'd recommend it to anyone.
Pros are: yoga/abs/gym classes, good size rooms, cleanliness, good food, very helpful staff, decent entertainment and 90% of guests are (very civilised) middle aged Scandinavians.
Negatives are: 15 mins walk from beach/dunes, limited choice of food for all inclusive, limited amenities.
We got a great deal through Travel Republic, but it now looks to be available only through Thomas Cook, at £200 a week more.

Excellent hotel and staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The furniture in the bar could do with updating, but I understand the hotel is to be closed for refurbishment at the end of May. Would benefit from an outside bar area for night-time use as not everyone wants to sit in the bar. Would recommend taking the all inclusive option as the cocktails are very "moreish".The hotel caters mostly for Scandinavians but met some lovely people and was nice that it was an adult only hotel so no children running around! Although the hotel is well away from the beach there is a free bus service 4 times a day and if staying round the pool area, there are plenty of sunbeds.

We stayed here one week in March, I emailed the hotel before and asked for a ground floor room and I had a reply that there was no guarantee but when we arrived we got it so very pleased with that. The hotel is in a very good and quiet location with a free bus to the beach. We walked there and back and it took about half an hour, otherwise taxi is really cheap and easy.
Most of the guests were older Scandinavians which was fine. We had all inclusive and the food was fab. I think it's the best I've had in an all inclusive in Europe. Drinks were really strong and the staff was brilliant. Everyone working there always had a smile on their face and seemed to enjoy working there.
We had three pools to choose from and there was always plenty of beds available.
In the evening they had someone singing every night except Wednesdays and the quality was varied to say the least. You can always go out if you want bars and clubs, it took about 15 minutes to walk to the Yumbo centre.
The only negative I can think of is that there was no outside bar by the pools, everything else was fine and I would go back again.

We stayed at this adults only hotel for 14 days in late February, on an all Thomas Cook inclusive package costing £1,263 each. As usual, the flight was cramped, with not enough leg room. The weather was mainly sunny, with a few cloudy/ partially cloudy days, with a maximum temperature of 20C and not too windy.
The hotel is situated on the Northern outskirts of Playa Del Ingles, and like all hotels in this area has fairly small, but pleasant grounds. There are 3 swimming pools and plenty of sun beds, of which a few are reserved from 7.15 a.m. onwards. The pool area was wonderfully quiet, with no music whatsoever, apart from that used for water aerobics. You could hear some traffic especially police and ambulance sirens and voices from a nearby school, where children were playing. The guests are mainly Scandinavian, with some Germans, and very few British. There were a number of gay couples, as this appears to be a resort which is gay friendly.
Our room was a disappointment. The bedroom was the smallest in which we have ever stayed. There was adequate storage space, but some of the shelving did not have a door, so your clothes were on display. The so called double bed, consisted of 2 single beds pushed together, which were only moderately comfortable. The sitting area had a cooker, microwave, refrigerator, and sink, plus crockery and cutlery. Not much use for all inclusive! There was a sofa and a reasonable flat screen television. The balcony/patio was enormous, only 25% smaller than the bedroom. The smallish bathroom had toilet, washbasin and a double shower. A combined shampoo/ shower gel is the only extra provided. The air conditioning is effective and reasonably quiet. You are also given a pool towel which can be exchanged for a clean one at a cost E2.50, but as the bath towels are exactly the same, you can get a fresh one every day if you want. We were woken up on several mornings by what we believe was a road sweeper at around 4.00 a.m.
The dining room was light and pleasant, with transparent awnings acting as windows. The food was standard buffet style, with plentiful, adequate choice. Some dishes could become lukewarm if not replenished soon enough. There were 2 theme evenings, the Mexican being mediocre, but the Asian was good. Indifferent wine and beer, plus water, were available on a self service basis. Water was also provided by the glass from a machine in the in-house supermarket, but you were prohibited from refilling plastic bottles. If you wanted water in your room, you could buy it from the supermarket at E1.35 for 5 litres.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The best part of the all inclusive package were the cocktails, with over 30 available, plus some reasonable Cava. Live entertainment was provided every night, except Wednesday, consisting of either a solo singer or a duo, playing old pop and some country using a variety of instruments, with some Karaoke style backing. There was a small area for dancing, but not enough seating. What a pleasant change from the usual drivel produced at some hotels by the so called Animation Team.
A leisurely return walk to the sand dunes at Playa Del Ingles, or beach at Playa De Maspalomas takes 90 to 120 minutes. Whilst on the island, it is worth hiring a car. The highlights are the West coast, the Botanical gardens, the various gorges or Barrancos, and especially the National Parks in the interior. But be warned it is not for the faint hearted as many of the roads are narrow and twisty, and there are a lot of cyclists. The hotel will provide you with a very adequate free packed lunch, with water included!

Room Tip: Don't have rooms 016 or 017. They are quite dark .

Just back from a two week stay! Had a pleasant time! Nice with no children! Just can't justify the amount of money we spent to stay here....supposed to be a 4 star rating....furniture in bar and lounge area need replacing along with the ripped carpet on the raised areas!!! Only one lot of entertainment was good the rest was very poor!!! Overall good food nice choice of cocktails and excellent staff! For a 4 star the restaurant manager could have been dressed smarter and table cloths on tables for dinner would have been nice!!! very clean place. spent my birthday there and was given a nice bottle of red wine in our room on arrival! wouldn't stay there again as never stay at same hotel twice from past experiences!!!!

Room Tip: We had room 242 which was in good position....

We stayed here for a week last August with my husband, teenage daughter and her boyfriend. We booked two rooms. They were situated away from the main building in the garden. Being ground floor we had a patio area which led onto the garden and beach pool. The rooms were large with a kitchenette although we were all inclusive. These rooms had obviously been self catering apartments in a former life.
The food was good as were the cocktails. You weren't supposed to take drinks back to your room but no one took any notice.
The hotel is set towards the back of the resort. Most evenings we walked to the seafront or the Yumbo centre and took a taxi back. We hired a car for the week so the hotel position was not a problem for us.
The hotel was very peaceful being adults only. The entertainment was low key which suited us.
We had a good holiday and would return here.
