We were 3 adults and a child of 1.5 years who were in Los Arcos in January 2014. Our bungalow was an old and dilapidated, poorly refurbished building. It was cold and moist, without air-conditioning / heater. You would see quite a lot of cockroaches everywhere . Our biggest challenge was to get the child away from them !
The bathroom was terrible! The door was strangely almost covered by some stuff (maybe gumtrees? or fungi?) The tub was almost unwashed ! And many other things you could see in photos..
About the food: I would recommand not to order food in this hotel, as there are many quality restaurants around.. We had ordered the half-board menu containing buffet breakfast and "À la carte" dinner. We experienced a poor quality of food at the restaurant, with quite a few starters and desserts to choose from ( The breakfast was somehow good tough ) .

We would never recommend this hotel to anyone .

We stayed here for a week in october and saw a total of 3 cockroaches. Hardly an infestation. The maid was excellent. The location is great for the yumbo. We used the pool bar once. Very comfortable with good service. The shop on site is small, fine just to grab water. The bungalows are dated but more than adequate. There was a good supply of hot water and the reception staff are great. We will definately be back. Just dont pay for the tv.

Firstly I must say for location, this complex is ideal, and secondly, the staff were brilliant. But, and this is a very BIG but, there was a serious issue with cockroaches there during our stay. Our bungalow (which was basic, but perfectly adequate for a 1 week stay) was unfortunately infested with the little beasts, which only became apparent one evening after returning 'home' from dinner elsewhere. We reported this to reception immediately, and they offered us a further 5 bungalows, all of which were infested. The complex is very tired, in need of TLC and a coat of paint. We ended up moving to a hotel complex (review to follow) the next morning.

Room Tip: The entire park is mixed occupancy with some of the bungalows being privately owned (and occupied on a near permanent basis). This means that the noise levels are quite high from neighbours, as the complex was not designed for continual occupancy.

Los Arcos Apartments is a large area with lots of bungalows, where each bungalow has a small garden of its own, containing table, four chairs and two sunbeds. The bungalows were initially built in 1973, and that explains the feeling of a place that has passed its best-before date.
It has its ups and downs, as follows:

Positive:
+1) If you are in Playa del Inglés to just relax and eat good food the location is terrific. It's just 300 meters to Yumbo Shopping Center and only 100 meters to Avenida Tirajana, where many of the best restaurants are situated.
+2) The facilities includes four large pools, whereof one is heated from November, which means lots of space and always free sunbeds, no matter how late you get to the pool.
+3) The staff at the reception is efficient, friendly and service-minded.
+4) Wifi for 20€ a week is good. You can connect both laptop and mobile phones and save a lot of roaming expenses.
+5) If you like cats, there is a lot of them, though not very social. We like cats.

Negative:
-1) Many of the bungalows seems to be owned by retired Scandinavian people, and most visitors is 60+. Not many children, and the ones who are there is quiet. No floating devices at all allowed in the pools. Not much fun in the pool bar.
-2) The apartment we rented was very basically equipped, and too small for three people. The extra bed was a rock hard sofa, and the ordinary beds were just marginally softer. After two nights you started longing for your bed at home.
-3) The cleaning was as basic as the apartment. The cleaner did her job, just barely.
-4) if you don't like spiders and cochroaches there is quite a few around. We don't like.
-5) The supermarket is over-prized and small. Use the GAMA supermarket or the SPAR supermarket close by instead.

Room Tip: Bungalows 1-8 is located close to a street where the traffic sometimes is heavy. On the other hand you don't have neighbours on one side...

We got our trip with really cheap price due to last minute booking, we paid only 350,-E / person, so we didn't except luxury. With this price the hotel was really nice, surroundings were pretty, garden was beautiful and pools were clean and nice. The bungalows with own yard were really nice compared to the high hotel buildings near the beach. The apartments/bungalows were old and you could see that they were worn, but they were clean and everything was working; cleaning, water and electricity. Own yard was really nice and location of our bungalow was peacefull and quiet. Hotel personnel was nice and helpful and the reception was open 24h. Beach located couple of kilometers away, but taxi to beach costs only 2,5 Eur or you could walk to beach in 15 minutes. The Yumbo shópping center is one of the biggest in Ingles and it located only couple blocks away. The children's playground was not high-level, but we didn't spent much time there, instead we went to Yumbo's playground or to beach. Los Arcos is really good choice if you don't need luxury but a reasonable apartment with reasonable price.
