This review is a bit belated as we were there over the Christmas/new year period 6 months ago.
To qualify our opinion, we have been visiting GC for over 30 years and have had a succession of nice places to eat, some of which have sadly disappeared since! We travel extensively including lots of visits to France so we know what to expect and what to compare. I agree with all the good reviews this place received here but surprised that there were negative ones as well.
In general, if you compare this place to a corresponding bistro in any of the tourist areas of France from Paris to Cannes, it is as good as they come at this price.
We had around 10 visits during our months stay and kept returning because the food was always good. We are fussy eaters as ex athletes and were always pleased with the quality of the food and presentation.
I will not specifically recommend any dishes, but we eat of the fixed 3 course menu and everything we had was excellent, we have our own preferences but they might not be yours.
Yes, the location is a bit off beat but that's ok with me.
Contrary to some comments we liked the under stated non rushed service and the waiter was excellent both in service and non intrusiveness.
We liked the idea of seeing our food cooked in full view - who wouldn't - especially in a holiday resort!
It can be a little quiet some nights but I prefer to get good food to screaming kids.
We rate this place the best in Maspalomas , based on value for money, great food, excellent service and always have left happy with our dining experience.
Try it yourself and see what I mean.
We are going back in December for a months and intend to spend many happy evenings there again and meeting the staff and owners.

We – 5 adults and a child – visited the place on a Friday evening. At 8 o’clock, we were second guests to arrive, so we were given plenty of time to go through the menu. Service was friendly, but not intrusive: not the over-the-top-best-friends-for-life kind of service you might encounter in some other local places, but in no way rude or inattentive as some of the previous comments suggest.

Food was very good, almost excellent. I chose fried duck liver as a starter, mustard rabbit for the main and tarte tatin for dessert.

Duck liver was served on two pieces of toast with plenty of fried onions and a dollop of raspberry coulis. Liver: 5 out of 5. The toast was a bit too crunchy and crumbly and fell apart when trying to cut into it, but the sharpness of the coulis cut through the fat nicely and onions added another texture. All in all, lovely.

Rabbit in a mustard sauce: meat was sweet, succulent and there was plenty of it, the pure underneath could have used a bit of parmesan or salt and there was no salad or vegetables (which I missed a bit). But it was absolutely delicious nevertheless.

Tarte tatin was oh-so-sweet-but-oh-so-wonderful, accompanied with a ball of vanilla ice cream.

Portions are small or medium in size, so it does make sense to have more than one course.
One small negative: as the food is cooked at the bar, they don't have the capacity to serve a larger table all at once and plates arrive at different speed.

All combined, we had 6 starters, 6 mains, 5 desserts, 4 bottles of water, 2 coffees, 1 glass of calvados, 2 bottles of wine and an extra set of fries – our bill came to a 225 € (+ tip).
Certainly pricier than most places around Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles, but money well spent. Definitely going back!

I do eat out at a lot of restaurants with family, friends. I like different food, and a I like to be able to enjoy new experiences.
The location of this restaurant is in a quiet area not far away from Cita Center, The Riu Palace and opposite a Night Club.
We were attracted by the French style and the menu. The restaurant was not very busy.
Our first visit was during the first few months of them opening few years ago.
The food was excellent with a great warm welcome with a good price.
BUT it was before...
Me and my Wife decided to visited again this French restaurant after reading the Review on Tripadvisor.
We do not normally write "Terrible" reviews but after 2 years there is a huge increase of the prices...for a poor quality.
If you like "Pesto", Basil and Garlic this is the place to go !
If your are French you will enjoy a warm welcome...but if your are not French...you will enjoy a very poor customer service.
Perhaps that's why the Best review on Tripadvisor are posted from French Clients (friends?)
The service was absolutely disappointing with a bad mood waiter.
And last but not least : Do not search for a Kitchen in this Restaurant !!
There is NO kitchen... The "Chef" cooks behind a BAR without Fume Extractor...
This restaurant is overrated and overpriced!
Never again.

Incredible service. Sublime food. Wonderful atmosphere - and family-run. Could not have spent a more pleasant evening. And EXTREMELY good value. Lovely touches a welcoming bubbly and sorbet between courses. Cannot rate highly enough

Visited the Bistro with some friends by previous recomendations.
Starters - snails in garlic butter, salmon tartar, mussels in basilic sauce were all excellent.
We asked for later a cheese plate, where they did cut 3 cheese in pieces and served it like this....
no fruits or jam or biscuits.
We were extremely disappointed on the French wine selection offered. The lady offered us a Bordeaux 2 euro wine without any hesitation, the best one of French wine was a 5 eur (purchase price) bottle of Chapoutier and then there was a big Merlot bottle, they poured to every table asking...(would have expected more, with all the French menu and etc...)
And they had only 1 Creme brullet left...
The only thing corresponding to French restaurant was the bill we got....

Would not recommend,
If it were situated on mainland, not on the Island, would not visit again, but having a very poor selection of places here, I probably will visit it again...
