Just spent another fantastic holiday at this hotel. Very friendly staff including Management team. Very clean. Great pool area with gym. Food was of good standard. Highly recommend. This is now our third holiday at this hotel and every time they deliver a great experience.

Just returned from the Riu Don Miguel, Found the hotel to be spotlessly clean, all public areas and rooms well maintained, Rooms were cleaned everyday, most staff were really friendly and helpful.

The food was really good, a large choice for both breakfast and evening meal, with loads of fresh meats and fish being cooked in front of you, also a variety of potatoes, pasta and pizzas.

Also ate at the hotel for lunch which was really good and quick service.

Pool area was well laid out and relaxing, always sunbeds available.

Location was great, around 5 minutes to the Yumbo Centre, The hotel also has free shuttle bus to the beach.

Would definitely recommend this hotel and would return.

This hotel was in my opinion very well tailored for a specific audience. The audience is without question adults only although do not mistake this for some sort of indication of inappropriate behaviour, if there was, I didnt see it.
I have put this review into several parts going through the day to give an indication of breakfast pool evening meal. I will not comment on the location as others have done so very well, suffice it to say it is as close to Yumbo as you need without the noise.

Pool
So rush down in the morning to place your towel out before breakfast, no, not here. If you place your towel before 09:00 it will be removed by staff unless you are with it. The system is organised, place you and your towel on a sunbed of your choice, and at 09:00 the pool attendant will signal its now ok to leave your towel. This saves the 06:00 dash to the pool.
Its a nice swimming pool with no kids splashing around nosily (sorry kids) and thus is a relaxing environment with sunbeds actuall in the pool.

Breakfast
Not ideal as the egg and bacon cooking is way below standard. Despite mentioning this to the manager it remained unchanged.
Cold meats, cheese and cereals are fine, although the servers were so varied, from very friendly to one who was borderline impolite, perhaps we upset him in some way, its possible as we do have good and bad mornings.

The system is grab a table where you want and then its a buffet serve yourself system.
Things were better when the Manager and Manageress were in attendance (she works very long hours and he too, he is just not as visible in his quiet and unassuming way although he is very attentive too).

No lunch in the restaurant but bar food, which you pay for, and boy what a difference, they must have realised without making an effort on this food people will not pay for the food and therefore go out more. Some people do use the supermarket over the road for cans of beer and sandwiches though.

Evening dinner, two sittings either 18:00 or 20:00, you choose and are given a fixed table. We had paid for all of our dinners for the week but only used the restaurant three times. My wife a fan, I not.

The evening entertainment was from 19:30 and to be fair was adequate but not good.
Later there was other entertainment but it was not for us.

The rooms are fine although dont expect a pool view and do be prepared to find your way through the maze. No heating at all and in the evening / night this can be an issue.

Reception staff excellent they could not do enough.

I would stay again.

Room Tip: This is not easy but try to be near reception if you dont get a pool view.

Went for another week in February as last year's experience was so good and such good value for money. Last year cost approximately £500, this year approximately £580 with Thomson for the same week. Will only stay in adult only hotels now, with the exception of the Riu Palace down the road, where we stayed in the summer, which is virtually adult only anyway.

All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food is excellent and lots of choice at breakfast and dinner. Drinks are very reasonably priced. As others have said, tables can be a bit too close for comfort in the dining room. Rooms are spacious and clean with extremely comfortable beds. We have listened to reviews for both years and have requested high floors with pool views as a result. These were definitely the best so we are glad we have taken heed of other people's advice. Showers are still a bit of a let down with a shower curtain and sachets of shower gels. A walk in shower or glass screen with gel in a dispenser would be much better.

Would still pay the extra to stay in more luxurious surroundings for a fortnight, as we did in the summer in the Riu Palace. They wanted £950 for the week in February compared to £1300 for a fortnight in August, so would go there for a fortnight in August instead. As for the Don Miguel, a great hotel for a week and for the price, you can't go wrong............a 4 hour flight, half board with excellent food, no screaming kids, comfortable, quiet rooms and sunshine in February for £580 each, not bad!

Room Tip: High floor, pool view

Considering it was my first holiday away with my partner, we were quite anxious about what to expect. On arrival however, all of our worries disappeared. All of the staff were polite, kind, friendly, helpful and hardworking. They made our stay enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. Even when we asked to be sat with friends, who had joined us half way through our holiday, the staff quickly arranged this for us. At the hotel, there is also two sittings for dinner. We had the later time, which suited us perfectly, as it meant we didn't have to rush back from exploring the local area. Our friends however, decided to ask for the earlier seating after our departure, which the hotel were happy to change. The rooms were always left extremely clean and tidy and were very nicely decorated. The pool and jacuzzi were fab and everyone seemed to be having a great time. A gym was also available for guests and although we did not use it, it appeared impressive. It was a great first holiday and we would definately recommend staying here to anyone!! This hotel should be 4*, not 3.

Room Tip: We requested a top-floor, pool facing room, which was lovely! The room was a great size and the balc...

Having returned for the third time and 1st time after their "light" refurbishment, I must say that Hotel has really been improved in room comfort.
+Bed was extremely comfortable compared to last visit
+Pool & Poolbar Area was much more inviting than at last visit

Things remaining equally good were:
+Superfriendly staff all over
+Good choices of salads at Dinner Service

Points needed attention:
-Reservations didn't even bother to respond to 2 Emails regarding Room request, not a word received!
This is really a shame on such a nice brand to have such uncustomerfriendly reservation service-Shape up!!!

Room Tip: Poolside=Afternoon Sun
