We chose the hotel from reviews as first time to PDI. The hotel is in a very good location, we walked quite alot and on viewing other hotels they all have lots of steps, and due to height of most, the pool areas miss a lot of sun, Barcelo, does have areas that were a sun trap so very nice. PDI is very built up. The rooms here were lovely, cleaned well and furnished nicely.
Meal times: we felt the meals very very good and great choice. The disappointment was the water, wine, beer and soft drinks all on tap!, this was not good and the white wine was never cold. This way of serving drinks to me is a let down. Reception staff were extremely helpful. Entertainment staff were very good, and we felt a little sorry for them as it was too cold for most people to go outside at night, so maybe in the winter months the hotel should think of moving this inside. Bus runs from outside and is free to the beach, nice gesture. All in all a good hotel.

From the time of arrival to the point of leaving this hotel and it's staff provided excellent facilities, service and value for money. After reading a previous review I was a little apprehensive as to the location but this was totally unfounded. A free bus is available if staying on an all inclusive basis and the local buses and taxi's are easy to use, and both are reasonably priced.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days for my wife's 50th from 31/01 to 02/02/2014 the hotel rooms are very clean and modern The food is of good quality and the all inclusive is good standard has they have two separate areas at each bars where you can help yourself I would agree that meal times can be busy but you simply need to wait as it was nearly always early on when it was most busy The hotel staff are good and although the hotel is a little outside the area there is a good bus service We were both impressed and would come back The only let down is the entertainment which is of poor standard compared with other hotels we have stayed at

Beautiful hotel. Very clean, daily maid service, excellent food and great staff. Choice of two bars and pools x only negative not a lot within walking distance out with hotel. Courtesy bus to and from the beach and Massapolomas. Very restricting.

Many reviewers here mention the dining hall as disappointing. We were not unhappy but if you are demanding diner, beware that places like this which feed 900 people three times a day tend to be run on an industrial scale. We thought the choice was good, some dishes much better than others.
Apparently some people like sprouts at breakfast (we have photos). Hmmm.
The location is excellent - quiet enough but a short walk to Playa del Ingles (lively and hassley) and the lighthouse area (much more relaxed). People seemed happy with the buses; local taxis are cheap and have meters.
We stayed in the apartment block, which we liked. By contrast the main block seemed densely packed in with a shadowy pool area full of constant noise.
The naturist sunbathing balcony is an embarrassment: a dozen battered sunbeds on the roof, carpet ripped, paint battered. Great views from there though (outwards, as it were).
We met many people who were returning several times to this hotel.

This was also the holiday where I realised for the first time that All Inclusive attracts heavy drinkers.

Room Tip: High up gets noise, low down there's less light. Fourth was recommended to us.
