“Overall excellent hotel”

This hotel is ultra modern and very clean throughout. The facilities and services are definitely 4 star. It was our first time as All Inclusive guests and we didn't expect the food to be quite so lovely. As vegetarians there was enough choice - but much more for meat eaters. I always like to travel to new places so I will definitely look up any other Barcelo hotels around the world, based on the professional management of this hotel and their general attention to detail.

Stayed at this hotel from 14-21april, after arriving joining a very long queue to check in, offered 1st floor room, I stated I booked high floor months ago, rather rude man on reception, he hummed and Arrhed gave us a room on 3rd floor, my friend and I checked this out, not very clean and massive trees within touching distance of room and very dark. Phoned reception and spoke to different man and told him problems with room. No problem changed to 6 the floor-ideal.
Finally unpacked went to bar area for drink and a les Dawson kind of piano player playing bang bang bang! Food repetitive, bland and warm, salads strange as well. Lots of Germans Italians very few English voices around.nighttime entertainment dreadful, lots of steps so immobile foe some. Terrace for sunbathing ok, but toilets and drinks a distance away.
Wouldn't stay here again, air con broke hotel fixed it with insulating tape cistern broke, quickly fixed tho, no kettle etc in rooms, bathroom door sliding frosted glass door, ok if with family, spouses, embarrassing if with friends, hear every little noise! This is only 3star very over rated.sorry but truth hurts.

We stayed on an all inclusive basis for a week during the Easter Holidays - arrived 10th April. Check in was quick and the rooms were comfortable. The hotel was not at full capacity when we arrived so we had no initial issues with mealtimes. However, towards the end of our stay it began to get busier. On our last day we had to que for 15 minutes OUTSIDE the restaurant for breakfast and on the last few evenings the 'dining experience' was more like a school dinner hall. With this said, the restaurant staff worked their socks off to ensure tables were cleared and a lovely touch was real tablecloths and napkins at every sitting not just dinner. Food was good (much as you could expect for all inclusive) but think if we had been there any longer than a week it would have got repetitive.

There are 2 pool areas and in my opinion the large pool beside the apartment block is the nicest, cleanest and had the best staff who were always courteous. The bar by the smaller pool where the entertainment happens seems a bit grubby by comparison but this might be because the area is smaller and feels like everyone is sitting on top of each other.

I don't get the tradition of reserving sunbeds - there are plenty for everybody !!!!

Didn't think much of the entertainment but this could be down to lack of budget (??). The kids club seemed OK with lots of smiley faces.

The lobby bar is too small for the number of guests and the seating area is uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

The shop in the hotel is very reasonable for anything you have forgotten.

The biggest gripe I have is having to pay extra for Wifi, security boxes and pool towels in a 4* hotel - in my opinion this should be included. All of the small bars, cafes and restaurants offer free wifi so I don't understand how they can justify £22 / week for 1 device???

The free bus to the beach was good and very punctual.

Not sure if we would go back 'all inclusive' again as the resort is very reasonable for eating out.

Fab hotel, excellent food and good entertainment. Travelled with my husband two children my mum sister and my grandparents- hotel suitable for all age groups. Children loved kids club and the mini disco staff very friendly and good with children. Excellent choice of food we all thought the quality was great too. Would recommend this holiday to all age groups we will definitely be returning in the future.

I stayed here just recently from 9th - 16th April 2014 and found this hotel to be one of the best I have stayed in.

The hotel is split into two - the hotel room side and the apartment side (which are both in easy walking distance to one another). We stayed in the apartments as we had a 2 year old and wanted the flexibility of using the fridge and having the kitchenette.

The balcony was a good size and secure and the apartment was cleaned every day.

The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with such a vast choice of food you just don't know what to choose - the only downfall is that I think the chef is a little too generous with the salt.

We went half board and found this to be great as there are many restaurants and tapas bars nearby which makes for a great lunchtime explore (if staying in the hotel all day is not for you of course!) The beach is a little further away than I expected as you have to walk across the sand dunes to actually get to the sea!

The kids entertainment was really good and the numerous swimming pools kept in great condition (salt water).

All in all, our holiday was one of the best we've had and it makes such a difference to stay in such a well kept and well maintained hotel. Full marks and many thanks to all the staff involved at Barcelo Margaritas. :-)

Room Tip: The apartment rooms are located in a separate hotel which doesn't border the main entertainment...

The availability of the quiet gardens & pool area in the adjacent Barcello apartments grounds are the icing on the cake. Both pools and outdoor area are scrupulously clean and the staff unfailingly friendly.
