After reading all the negative reviews on here and on other site i was rather concerned about going to the Green Sea Aparthotel in San Augustin. On arrival i was very pleased, all the staff were helpful and friendly the main areas were clean. THe room was lovely, looked like it had been recently renuvaited, new bathroom, everything very clean, comfy beds, spacious with kitchen area and sofa, big balcony. Pools were lovely, enough sun beds providing your not too late up. Entertainment was basic but good no complaints.

Food was good, not much of a selection compared to other hotels I have stayed in, but there wasnt anything to complain about. Always a good selection of salad, fish dish, meat, veg, pasta dish. All cooked well, no tummy upsets.

Hotel isnt really in the middle of a resort, but is only a short walk away from the beach and the local resorts of san augustin and playa de ingeles. Local bus service just down the road, which takes you to local areas - waterpark, palmistos park (zoo type thing), other beaches etc.

We had a fantastic holiday and honestly have no complains, i so desperatly wanted to give me view after all the negative comments from others. Its a lovely hotel for only being a 2 star :) good definatly go again.

The sea hotel has graciously offered family traditions, luxury, and hospitality on an international level. The hotel is located in one of the world's most exclusive beach paradise. It offers its guests exquisite antiques and artwork, comfortable rooms and an outstanding restaurant, and excellent facilities. The restaurant, serves light cuisine, buffet breakfast, lunch, and good dinner every evening with a good wine. The resort also offers A wide range of massages, cosmetic treatments, swim courses, water gymnastics, stretching, yoga, chi gong, fresh fruit juices. The tv was not so good...
A nice spot for a romantic getaway,.

During our 1 week stay we came up with several different names for the hotel none of which I can put on here. The rooms were not clean, we had cockroaches in the bathroom and living areas, constant smell of sewage, but the best was the food - or Bush Tucker as we called it.
One night we were served Weevil Soup - i kid you not, I stirred the soup and tons of weevils floated to the top. The speciality dessert seemed to be Green Snot with fruit chunks, sometimes it was purple, blue, yellow....
Both myself and my partner were ill during our stay, probably due to malnutrition!!!
Maspalomas beach and Playa del Ingles only 4 euros in a taxi.

Stayed here in Feb 2008 for 7 nights.

We went all inclusive and I wouldn't recommend it if you are a fussy eater.
The selection of food on offer was at times bizarre and seemed to be geared towards the large number of Germans staying there.
Lunch and evening meal always included chips and salad, yet nothing that would logically accompany them. A perfect example was the strange boiled pork or the plain pasta with no sauce.
I often found myself just having a chip butty.
It often seemed like the leftover food serve at lunch was reheated for the evening meal. After a few days we didn't even bother and we'd catch a taxi (see why we didn't walk later in this review) into Maspalomas and eat out.
Breakfast was the best food of the day, but again geared towards the Germans. Strange tasting little sausages, soggy wet bacon and long-lasting bread that was always dry. A professional bread toasting machine that would always jam at the back and you'd have to fish out your toast whilst trying not to burn your hand.

The pool area was ample and always clean as was the entire complex, with plenty of sun loungers and enough parasols to go round.
A seperate childrens pool, two main pools, and a third main pool tucked away near the back gate. The two main pools were always freezing cold, but were fine once you got used to the temperate.

The staff were on the whole ok. The chap on the front desk thought was brilliant. Always courteous and happy to help.

An overzealous German hotel entertainment person was constantly buzzing around trying to organise events throughout the day. Evenings involved organised shows in and around the bar area.

Our ground floor apartment overlooked the two main pools and was a stone's throw from the bar, which meant most nights it was pointless trying to sleep before midnight as the noise went on well after the bar closed at 2330.
Inside the room were two single beds with one pillow each. Totally useless and we ended up pushing the beds together and folding up the extra blankets provided and using them as additional pillows. Average size bathroom with sink and vanity mirror, bidet, walk in shower that seemed to run out of hot water after about 10 minutes and no hairdryer.
A small kitchette with fridge and sink, seperate seated area with coffee table, safety deposit box (pay extra for the key), small 14" portable tv which had a selection of English language channels (Sky News, Sky Movies Premiere but the picture quality was rubbish) and a large private patio with two sunlounges and a fold out clothes drying horse (which was hanging off the wall).

The walk to the back gate which leads to the sea front always smelled of the sewers. To get to the sea front promenade you'll need to walk through a small rubble area, then across a motorway slip road (we hardly ever saw any vehicles use it though) and over a large foot bridge.
Once on the sea front, the walk into Maspalomas is picturesque and takes approx 40 mins. You'll have to scale a couple flights of steep stone steps and then try and avoid being accosted by the scatch card bums and the clans of gang-up-on-you-in-great-numbers-West African-friendship-wristband women.

Maspalomas itself is a combination of Skegness style cheap tat-shops, bars, some great restaurants and yet more annoying wristband women.

Yes it was a nice break from the cold of the UK and the weather was great, but overall I won't be returning to this hotel anytime soon. Offically 3star - more like 2star.

I went with a mate on a girly holiday to celebrate our 21st's. The area was fantastic, the sea was gorgeous and we were only a 30min walk from clubs and bars which were really good, bit pricy though.
There were far to many cockroaches for our liking, being two wossy girls we werent that good at getting rid of them niether. there was gaps all round the room and a vent in the bathroom where they were coming from. We also had lizards in the room as well. We felt like we were put in the cellar being quite far away from the main hotel and down a tunnel where there was a vent outside our room with a funny smell coming out of it. We went into another apartment which was in the open and it was more like a house that was much nicer, we were just unlucky.
The food was awful!! Not much choice and some very wierd variations of normal food, not even the salad tasted right. We ended up eating out for half the week as we couldnt stomach any more of thier food.
Apart from that though the entertainment was really good. They had a drag queen show, parrott show etc. which was suitable for everyone.
The staff were ok, the reception staff were a bit miserable. Bar and enertainment staff were a reallg good laugh though. Me and my friend even done a caberet show with some other guests and staff, which really made the holiday.
There are two pools and we found the auxillary pool was empty most of the time so we had it to ourselves.
All in all I wouldnt go back to the hotel, but the area was great.
