Friendly staff, nice hotel, clean rooms, good location, food average - selection of hot food could be better. Main gripe; as an inclusive guest it was a pain only being able to get my drinks from the two pool side bars - not any of the other 3 bars inside in the hotel. Not allowed to drink any drinks from the all include bars in any of the bars inside the hotel either. Big inconvenience having to go to the pool bars (even if you aren't out by the pools) all day to get a drink - esp when they are at opposite ends of the hotel. I would suggest making drinks for all inclusive customers available at bars inside the hotel too (ie lobby bar at least). Esp as paid the extra to go all inclusive.

Arrived at 01:30 in the morning to be welcomed by the softly spoken receptionist who checked us (two males) in, smoothly and efficiently, also handed a packed lunch since the kitchen was obviously closed at that hour... packed lunch contained ham and cheese sandwich, bag of crisps, banana, orange and a bottle of water... very pleasant after all the travelling from the UK to Gran Canaria...!!

Doors: Operated by a digital card issued at check in...! Don't keep it in your pocket with your mobile as you will blank the card!!!

Breakfast... Buffet... Most acceptable, good choice of hot, cold food, cereals, different breads, yoghurts, continental options. Fruit juices, water, tea, coffee, all in plentiful supply. Staff very pleasant and clear away finished plates and bowls quickly.

Snacks available through the day, very nice, basic food. Salad, hot dogs, hamburgers (so they are pink as they are not beef!!).

All Inclusive... Alcohol from 11am from Honolulu Bar by pool... Typically large amount of alcohol per drink, but surely its watered down?! Tastes fine!! Self-service soft drinks, water, tea and coffee until 11pm

After 11pm, difficult to get a drink of drinking water... don't drink from the taps its disgusting!!!

Pool: Get up early, towels are on the sun beds and the parasols reserved early... so get there early to reserve your sun bed space with your towel...!!

Dinner... Make sure you follow the dress code... no vest tops or shorts...! So wear a shirt...! Unless you're female as the rules don't seem to apply to women!!!

Free WiFi in Bar Meeting area to the right of reception but its painfully slow and a pain to get connected... Remember the days of 33.3mps dial up?! Well its worse than that!!! HAHA the paid for Wifi all over the hotel is faster as off-peak times... but come peak times (6pm onwards) its equally as poor as the free wifi... and its 6€ (£5) a day...So be warned the WiFi is PAINFUL compared your home service!!!

Wear something on your feet during the day around the pool... the terracotta tiles get very hot in the sun!! And yes... it burns!!!

Animation Team work well with the kids and adults... starts at 11am with the same "Good Morning Good Morning" song... and then activities for a couple of hours including Aqua Gym which is very energetic... and evening activities start at 8:30 with the Kids Disco and the main entertainment, which is different every night, from 9:30. Sometimes the animation team put on the show or professional entertainers come in and entertain you for an hour.

Definitely a decent hotel for the price. Food is edible. Drink is decent amount for all-inclusive.

There was a big fight one evening, the police were called, but that'll be the German's causing trouble during the World Cup... so I would say that was isolated!!

Rooms cleaned daily... to a good standard

What lets this hotel down... No air conditioning in the rooms, so gets a bit stuffy!! TV is typically one English channel (BBC World Service) extra channels you can pay for at 3€ a day, and the safe is 2€ day charge if you want it!! Couple of dead cockroaches around - outside... nothing noticed inside.

Would definitely return to this hotel!! You get what you pay for! It's definitely acceptable for a short holiday... and close to the Yumbo Centre too for the boys night time antics... and the beach is a 10 minute walk away!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet area unless you don't mind being woken up (pool side) by the animation team and...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in June and have just returned.and to be honest we could fault it! From the moment we got there we felt welcome and totally at home.the staff couldn't do enuf for you and the 24h reception was defiantly a strong point! They are 2 pools one for the people who like to relax and the other which has games from 11am till 5pm and the animation team are out of this world! Funny, friendly, helpful, kind and they were a big factor in making our Holliday!
The food was delicious and a wide variety so they is something for everybody and also they is not a time in the day where food is not available to the all inclusive coustmers!
The night time shows were also great and funny and while you are watching them the staff come around and ask what you would like not like in other all inclusive were you are expected to go to the bar!
The hotel was very clean and overall in a good spot swell! The rooms were spacious and clean with a big bathroom and clean bedding and towels everyday the hotel itself was Not far from little Italy were they is a strip of nice quite little bars and restaurant on the beach however also very close is the yumbo and kashbah were you will find chinawhite and pacha if you are wanting a night out!
Overall we loved our stay in playa del ingles and would defiantly come back as they is everything and anything available to do for all age groups and this hotel is for everybody!
Massive thankyou to ifa Buenaventura and the animation team for making our Holliday one to remember :) thankyou

Wasn't sure what to expect from the hotel as I only booked it because my friends were staying here for Gay Pride week. I was pleasantly surprised. I foolishly turned up without a printout of my booking but it wasn't a terrible problem. The staff on duty let me use the computer to access my emails and print one off. The room was very big and would have slept four people easily and it was only me! I upgraded to get wifi, a fridge and welcome pack - very reasonable although the wifi wasn't all that great on the floor I was on. 6th floor with a great view but a bit scary for those scared of heights like me - next time I'll request a lower floor. I ate out the first couple of nights but thought I'd give the hotel restaurant a go on the third day. Excellent value for money even if you haven't gone all inclusive and are paying for it daily using the room card (which can be charged up with money from the front desk and can be used throughout the complex). A wide selection of food and you can have as much as you like which is handy for a greedy man like me.
The hotel has two large pool areas which are very relaxing with jacuzzi areas, free sun beds and poolside bars.
Staff are very friendly and most speak good English which is useful for the usual monoglot Britlish tourist. The location is good, only a short walk to the beach and about a ten minute wander to the delights of the Yumbo centre.
I'll definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you face the main pool you will hear the entertainment rather too loudly in the early evening so...

We stayed here over Gran Canaria pride and we loved it. We got a room on the top floor that overlooked the pool and the ocean. We could even watch the entertainment from our balcony. The rooms are massive and well kept. The restaurants and bars were great and happy hour every afternoon made the already cheap cocktails even more of a bargain and they were really good! I couldn't complain about anything at this hotel for the price we payed. I would recommend it to anyone.
