The hotel staff are polite and helpful, the hotel is in a good position for transport and it is about 60 meters from the massive well kept beach.
The bus station is only around the corner along with the taxi rank and shops.
The selection of food in the hotel is very good along with the entertainment and facilities. The drinks are Not watered down like some other hotels and are good quality. The hotel staff work hard and keep the hotel running smoothly unlike Cyprus where the staff cannot be bothered.

Room Tip: We read reviews about the best rooms and requested above 5 floor, we were facing the sea, the view w...

I can appreciate where some people on here are coming from re: the hotel, and i think its really easy to focus on the little things that didnt stack up to their expectations rather than all the fantastic points that this hotel and resort has, seriously, who cares if the hotel paints the odd wall green?

Me and my Fiancee booked for a winter one week getaway for his birthday on the 14th October this year, so we spent all in all around 600 each to go all inclusive. We arrived in early evening and were immediately checked in and as I had emailed a couple of weeks before requesting a fifth floor sea view room the guy behind the reception desk was more than happy to oblige and gave me brilliant service with a smile. As we had arrived after dinner time, we had a pre prepped meal waiting for us before we went to bed which was lovely.

The drinks on are local spirits and beers including Amstell on draft which is fairly standard on an all inclusive. However if you fancied a cocktail or something different you could have that for a couple of euros.

The no towels on sunbeds rule was fab and meant that no matter what time you went down to the pool there were always sunbeds, and considering it rarely dipped below 30 degrees was fab for us. Also please note that for dinner men must wear long pants however jeans are acceptable so i don't know what people on here make all the fuss about for, its not like you have to get suited up!

The entertainment during the day was fabulous and kept my otherwise fidgety fiancee busy whilst i read and sunbathed! Olga and Attila were fantastic as well as Edu the lady that cleaned our room so spotlessly every day. You can tell they are big on customer service at this hotel, from the reception staff to the servers and even the chefs behind the hotplate every service comes with a smile. We also got a surprise bottle of champagne and a letter from the hotel manager for my other halfs birthday which was brilliant!

Food wise you would never go hungry, even if you are a fussy eater the variety is so vast when it comes to meal times even catering for vegetarians and children on top of the usual menu.

I would recommend getting a room safe for 2 euros a day we found this invaluable when wanting to go to the beach etc to just pop all valuables in there. I wouldn't say air con was required to be honest most nights it was 25-28 degrees and we didn't have any bother sleeping. I wouldnt recommend either renting towels, air con or tv remotes, to buy a cheap towel from the hotel shop in 4 euros and you can use the buttons on the side of the tv if you want to pop anything on, there are really only 2 channels in english other than Sky news and both are subtitled in arabian but show blockbuster films etc on channels 29 and 30 i believe.

The beach is practically around the corner and the views from the hotel are amazing, to go into central playa del ingles come out of the hotel look right and follow that until you hit all the shopping centres around ten minutes walk away at most. Or if you want to taxi in its about 3 euros.

I highly recommend going to Palmitos Park and Aqualand. However i would buy the dual ticket for both attractions to save 15% like we did. We had the amazing experience of swimming with both dolphins at Palmitos (need to prebook) and sealions at aqualand just arrive half an hour before the show at 1PM and its something that we'll never forget! If you get taxis up there Palmitos is around 20 euros and aqualand about 10.

One of the best things about the hotel is value for money, its definately a 4* and for 600 each that we paid, we more than got our moneys worth with drinks, food, free champagne, service and entertainment and more importantly the hotel itself is SPOTLESS.

The pool area is fab, and as a couple without any children we relished in the fact that no inflatables are allowed in the pool so no trying to dodge lilos and rubber rings in order to get from one side to the other.

Evening entertainment was fantastic some nights and average others but to be honest there was different entertainment on EVERY night and they have to cater for everyone so its only natural that everything isn't going to be to your taste.

All in all an amazing and relaxing break in a clean hotel close to a beach and the shops with amazing service we will definately be returning here

Thank you to all the staff

Shelley and Alex :-)

Room Tip: any room that starts with 52 i.e we stayed in room 525 has a lovely sea view

just got back from this hotel. lovely clean and tidy place, bar shut at 11pm, then you have to pay.
could of catered more for the English in regards to food, but overall good, entertainment was poor which was a same as there was so much that could of been done to get the guests going and up and dancing and getting the guests talking to each other, inter acting with each other.
it seemed very quiet in the room.

Room Tip: drink till 11pm then go down to town cheap taxi ride

Just got back from 1 week all inclusive at this hotel. Everything about this hotel is great, the cleaners were amazing and everything was spotless. The toilets and all public areas were always fresh the waiters were very efficient and removed plates almost as soon as you finished your meals. The choice of food was great and always plenty of it. Everyone which worked their was friendly and very helpful. Self service bar was also a good idea and there was hardly any waiting to use them. The hotel is situated very close to the beach, bus station, shops and restaurants. There are small issues with the hotel but they are not worth mentioning because the positives really out weigh the negatives. I will definetly return here.

Back about two weeks now and thought I would share my view.
Food was very very good, great choice of mains salads fruit everything you need.
Drinks [ all inclusive ] local sprits.
Rooms clean but basic but maid service every day.
Hotel is very tired and requires a major facelift the corridors are very dated carpets are bare in the corridors and in the restaurant.
The resort is very tatty in places it also needs a major facelift.
Also if you are young go elsewhere I am 52 and felt very young to be staying here although this was October, but the staff are very nice and the place is relaxed and we did have a great break, even though there is no air con in any of the rooms.

Whilst the rooms and landings seem a little tired the public areas are modern looking and the whole place is clean. Good quality buffet, we stayed half board not AI, most the guests seemed to be AI. We found that some days the buffet choices were a bit limited and it wasn't always clear if it was a theme night and what the theme was, but there was always plenty of good quality, tasty food on offer.
Staff always friendly, polite and helpful.
The pools and pool areas were very pleasant and well maintained. Lots of activities available through the day for those who wanted to take part. Evening entertainment available 6 days out of 7, we didn't see much of it ourselves but it always seemed well attended.
The hotel is very well located, close to beach, shopping, bus station. Walking distance to San Agustin one way and Maspalomas the other, bus station across the road and round the corner if you want further afield or don't like to walk.
The area (and hotel) has a relatively high proportion of German holiday makers, if you're a bigoted Brit you might not like it! We had no problems what so ever with any of our fellow guests, whatever their nationality.
The quality of the hotel, to us, was such that it was hard to believe it wasn't a four star. Earlier this year we were at another 3 star hotel in Playa Del Ingles, within walking distance of this one, we loved it, it was great - The Ifa Continental was better!!!!!

Room Tip: The rooms don't have air conditioning - It's not a secret, it's made very clear by the h...

just got back from a 2 week stay at the ifa continental well what can I say the staff were all so friendly but young Roberto certainly made our holiday he always had a smile on his face and worked so hard I think a promotion for this young man is on the cards a lot of people have commented about the entertainment but I think it was quite good we had parrot /reptile shows acrobats dancers singers and a magic man the entertainment didn't repeate itself the second week as in some hotels. The hotel was spotlessly clean rooms a bit dated but you only sleep in them food was really good the choices were great its quite a strict hotel and the trouser thing was a bit of a problem as my partner didn't pack any but reception offered to lend him a pair and after dinner he simply put his shorts on again simple
