“Very pleasant stay”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

loved gran canaria & loved this hotel. it did exceed my expectations i must admit. The rooms were very clean and spacious, the pool area was very clean and well looked after. iIdidnt use the animation team as my daughter stayed with us but to be fair, they always seemed to be doing things with them. I had a game of boules the one day which was a good laugh. theres plenty of chances to join in with water polo, darts etc. they just ask but dont nag you which was nice. The food was nice. Good variety to chose from and there was always chips and ice cream for the kids. The beach was superb. waves one after the other and very clean and sandy. it only took 10 minutes on the bus which is free and goes every hour. we found a nice bar called the British Bulldog to watch the football in which we went to a few nights which had wi-fi so our daughter could play on her kindle happily while we watched the sport and the bar staff/waiter was friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The only one thing that i didnt like about this holiday was that it ws very busy with traffic which can be a bit annoying when you have kids but not really a reason to complain. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone. Loved it and would definately go back in a few years. Hope this review helps.

Parque Cristobal is a great complex for adults and children alike. We arrived around 3pm and were greeted by two very friendly and efficient reception staff. They immediately asked if we wanted lunch before we booked into our bungalow. We declined and were given our keys straight away.

We had a Premium bungalow, which meant there was air conditioning, a PS3 in one of the bedrooms (but be warned, no games) and complimentary slippers. We were also in a bungalow which was right by the pool and we could see the bar and restaurant from our patio. The whole complex is on the flat, except if you want to go to the “Theatre” where some of the evening entertainment takes place, however, there is a lift for those who cannot do the stairs.

The bungalow had a well equipped kitchen although we were all-inclusive, so didn’t really use this. The lounge area had a sofa that converted into a bed and a table with 4 chairs. Both bedrooms were similar – 2 very comfortable single beds, ceiling fans and a huge wardrobe and units. There is a digital safe one of the rooms and the cost was 18 euro's a week. There is a TV in the living room - we could only get non-english channels but this didn’t really bother us as we don’t go on holiday to sit inside and watch TV. The bathroom was small but functional. My only complaint was that the design meant the toilet was right behind the door!

Our patio had a roof (very hand on the day it rained!) and had a table and 3 chairs. As there were 4 of us, we requested and extra chair and it was there within the hour. All the bungalows have 2 sun beds on the patio, these are a different colour to those round the pool, and gives you the option of lounging outside your bungalow rather than the pool.

The complex has two pools areas. We only used the one by the main bar/restaurant which had a nice sloping ramp into it, a very shallow kids pool next to it and a bubble pool with “sun loungers under water”! There were a few tiles missing but this did not really affect it. The pool at the other end of the complex also had a bar next to it and a mini-water park with sprays and a slide into the pool.

The bar staff were great – got my hubby’s drink ready when they saw him coming towards them. The soft drinks, beer and hot drinks machines are all self service and there was never more than one of two people in the queue for the alcoholic drinks.

The restaurant had the usual food themes throughout the week, Chinese, Canarian, BBQ etc. You have to join the queue for the meat options but as long as you arrived when the restaurant opened, there was never a long queue. The friendly staff were very efficient in cooking quickly, replenishing the supplies and clearing the plates from the tables. Yes, the food is mass produced but was absolutely fine.

We stayed the first week of the Easter holidays and it was fairly quiet and you could always get a snubbed, even in the early afternoon. However, on the second Saturday of the holidays, there were lots of new arrivals and the towel reservations of sun beds started which was such a shame! The restaurant also became a lot busier too!

The entertainment team work really hard. They provide lots of activities between 10am and 12.30’ish, return between 3pm and 5.30pm and then returned around 8pm for the kids mini-disco and other entertainment. The hotel is very multi-national – Germans, Dutch, French, Scandinavian etc and all the entertainment is described in many languages.

Unlike many places in Playa Del Ingles, there is plenty of free parking right outside the hotel. There are 2 supermarkets within a couple of minutes walk and a very hand alley takes you from Reception directly onto the main road into the town, without going round the block!

We walked to the Beach in Playa Del Ingles in just under 20 minutes and it took slightly longer to walk to the sand dunes in Maspalomas. However, there is a courtesy bus which takes you to the main strip however we didn’t use this.

We had free wifi in our bungalow which was a bonus we didn’t expect. It sometimes ran slow but was fine. If you wanted quicker speeds, you could relax in the reception area on the huge sofas and use the wifi there.

We would happily return to this complex as we had a fantastic time!

Room Tip: Premium Bungalows around the pool are the best. Near to all the facilities but still not too loud wh...

Stayed between April 10th and 17th 2014 with five adults and three children. We had three bungalows which were very clean and had great facilities (microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and hob). The pools were great, the kids club team were fantastic, choice of food was very broad and the shows we saw were very entertaining. The staff were all incredibly friendly and very helpful, even the cleaners smiled and said hola! Great choice of self-service drinks (fizzy drinks, tea, coffee etc, red, white and rosé wine, beer and chilled water) plus a good selection of all-inclusive alcoholic drinks served at the bar. A great venue for a family holiday, all three generations (from 7 to 77) loved it and would go back again. Well done and many thanks.

Just back from a lovely week at Parc Cristobal. Family of 8 we had 2 2 bedroom apartments next to each other. Apartments were clean and functional, beds comfortable, kettle, toaster and filter coffee machine provided. All apartments had 2 additional sunbeds on the terrace so if the pool isn't for you, lounging on the subbed on the grass outside your apartment is more peaceful. Maid service was excellent, tv had a couple of English channels to amuse kids whilst waiting for adults, such as a Disney one and a D max channel, also you could get rid of the Spanish voice over on Paramont to watch a film.. This was discovered one evening spent in room with poorly child!
The pool areas are great, plenty of sun loungers withe parasols and small tables to rest your drinks on, clean and life guard supervision. Loads of fun round the kids pool with water sprays and slide.
We were all inclusive, which for a large family was great! Couldn't fault the food quality or choice, something to please everyone, and the staff were helpful and pleasant at all times.
The only downside for us was the lack of entertainment in English, as all inclusive we didn't venture out much, although courtesy bus to beach was available, the entertainment was mainly German and Eastern European, but the team were great and very friendly!
Would definitely go back to Parc Cristobal, although I can imagine it being a bit more hectic in the summer, especially in the restaurant.

Really enjoyed our stay, lovely bungalows in a spacious and well maintained setting, close to playa del ingles and Maspalomas. We didn't choose all inclusive but if I had a large family, I would. Food was ok, but not great. Good base for cyclists, suitable for wheelchairs and buggys. Staff were very friendly.
