“Great Location”
Reviewed 14 June 2011

This was a beautiful hotel, we stayed here on a girlie weekend. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. There was a great selection in the restaurant we went half board so the usual cereals, fry ups, fresh fruit for breakfast and then different themed evening meals. There was a good mix of people but the over 50's were the biggest crowd and a lovely group of people too. The had a kiddie disco followed by some entertainer but we ventured out a night . We love how central this hotel was. The rooms were spotless and roomservice was a nice luxury (even though we only used it once) The spa was nice too. We went whale watching one afternoon we booked it through a guy at a stand just left to the hotel it was brilliant we seen dolphins and pilot whales. Then we drove up to mount tiede and went up to the top by cable car whoooo what a view ( very chilly take a cardi) there was frozen snow at the top amazing

All in all we really enjoyed our stay and this hotel was a great base. They did have the usaul

arrived 31st May 2011 stayed in Alexander Suite 3rd Floor very good views of pool and slight sea view. This hotel is in a good location not too far away from the sea, but here we go even though its very clean and has quite a lot going on, i found it strange that the animation team is just one person , also the kids club is big and spacious but no animation team there u have to sit with ur child on ur own hence it being free. The food isnt good im not one for complaining about food but breakfast was awfull and we ate out alot and spent a fortune .Tenerife IS DEARER THAN ENGLAND and even though eating out was nice theres not much going on at nightime for families unless ur 21 and want to go to strip clubs and veronicas.i personally found the waiter staff quite ignorant and in other countries there quite pleasant and have a laugh with u not here.We payed for alexander suite meaning free one day access to gym and spa but there where no staff on so anyone could go seriously.Just one last thing they charge all drinks to ur room and u pay at end of stay keep receipts with price on so u dont get done,Oh forgeot to say i had a cheese and ham toastie at the pool bar and the bread was green , the reception refunded me but the chef couldnt care less,Oh the weather had sunny days out of seven arrived back on 7th june 2011Hope u enjoy ur stay

we stayed here in may 2011 for 2 weeks after reading some of the reviews we were abit worried but had a fantastic holiday.

The rooms were spotlessly clean maid came everyday

Pool area gorgeous and brill kids pool. Plenty of sunbeds different activities each day.

Food quiet good choice had different themes every night lots of fresh fruit and veg

Entertainment good at night kids disco 8.30 till 9. Then different shows each night

Good location close to everything, beach 5min walk

The only thing that i didnt like about this hotel was drink prices! you cant pay cash and have to put it on your room each time you buy one. They are very expensive.
Would definatly go back to this hotel though and recommend it

We have stayed in the Noelia 4 times , Jacaranda also out at Fanabe , but thought we would try the refurbished La Siesta this year

we enjoyed our stay but we had a couple of comments /niggles

The plus points
1)staff were all very pleasant to deal with from reception to restaurant and to the spa also
2)the spa upgrade was worth getting and we had good rooms with daily use of the spa

3)ocation is ideal for beach , shopping and many bars /cafes etc

Restaurant : bit of a hit and miss
1) no vegetarian hot food option each night ; some hotels have more than one vegetarian meal on offer each night ;
2) no maitre d at the door - to show you to a clear table ; it was a muddle trying to get a table at times ;
3) i also saw people with mobility problems being left to struggle & find a table -i think some tables should be set aside nearest entrances to help them as i have seen in other hotels ; also high chairs had to be hunted out
4) food was ok other wise : just what you expect in large scale catering hotel of this size

entertainment
we went out most nights but stayed in hotel for their BBQ night with music by ABBA Fever tribute band ; was a good night

Pool area
1 not enough sun shades /umbrellas ; i have never subscribed to the get up early and put towels down , but by day four i gave in as there were not enough shaded areas

2 excessive noise from Coast radio FM in afternoon from pool bar : far too loud; many people complaining about this while we were there ; noise bounces round the pool area partly due of the deisign layout amplifying the sounds

3 childrens pool and sloping pool were very good for families ; there was a childrens club which parents said they were very happy with

4 pool area spotless

Overall i preferred the Noelia and am not sure I would rush back to La Siesta

Our holiday at La Siesta was in May 2011 for 12 days. My wife and I are mid-twenties and our son is nearly 4. Please find some useful information below.....

Room: -
- Stayed in a Club Alexandre suite on 2nd floor viewing the pool
- Spacious room
- Very clean upon arrival (+ free bottle of wine) and cleaned to a high standard everyday
- Comfortable beds (son slept on a pull-out bed settee)
- Paid 25 Euros for fridge for our stay (this is very small and only really allows you to fill with canned drinks although included in the cost is X 2 coke, X 2 fanta, X 2 san miguel, X2 Sprite x 2 tonic water and X2 water)
- Fellow guests who'd stayed in standard rooms complained about views, maintenance and cleanliness but none of this was an issue throughout our stay
- Flat screen Tv but only News channels in English

Pool and Area:
- Always loungers available
- Large pool and good sized childrens splash pool
- Saltwater and always warm enough to swim from 11am -6pm
- Exceptional sun throughout our stay (blue skies all the time!)

Food:
- Most disappointing aspect of this hotel
- Breakfasts acceptable if you are happy with pastries, cereal, toast and fresh fruit. Very poor hot breakfast - uncooked cheap sausages, wet bacon, inconsistent eggs, cheap beans
- Dinners were equally disappointing with the hot selection. Never more than X 1 vegetable offering, sloppy mash + chips every night, lots of average paella and fish, always a poor meat selection
- Take the 'theme nights' with a pinch of salt........please don't expect Italian, Chinese or Mexican food.....you will be disappointed
- Brighter note was the extensive salad, fresh fruit and fresh bread offerings
- Drinks paid for unless you opt for the free machine based tea / coffee / orange (only really acceptable at breakfast)

Staff Service: -
- Friendly throughout the hotel from reception, cleaning and restaurant

Entertainment: -
- Only watched twice and was good on both occasions. Watch out for the Argentinian drum players.....very good
- Not so good if you don't decide to watch the entertainment. Very loud and on until after midnight
- Compare / singers become very annoying!

Other: -
- Used spa once. Would have done more with the opportunity. Well worth utlilising
- Childrens indoor area was enjoyed by my son on more than once. Decent soft play
- Don't bother paying the Wi-fi. Connection not strong enough in 'hot spot' nevermind the room. Total waste of money!
- Central Las Americas / Los Cristionas location. 5 minute walk either way to beach / shops
- Restaurants enjoyed were Sugar + Spice (exceptional Italian food) and Tony Romas
- Best bar was in Puerto Colon, Costa Adeje. Excellent entertainment by Innuendo (Les + Donna) and brilliant cabaret acts like Michael Buble, Queen and Meatloaf

In summary, we enjoyed our stay at La Siesta Hotel. Preferred other hotels but stayed in worse. Would consider returning at the right price. Hope you find our experience useful!

This is the worst hotel we have ever stopped at in Tenerife and is deffinately not 4 star
The hot food is poor, tough meats sometimes not cooked correctly blood running out of the pork chops. Most of the meats seem to be pre-cooked and kept warm by hot gravy.
The breakfast was discusting, bacon was fatty not cooked on one side and burnt on the other. The scrabble eggs smelt funny and we believe it was powdered egg. The fried eggs were left in a plastic box and were cold. There was no freshly cooked ommeletes, pre-cooked and rubbery. The sausages were poor quality.
The BBQ food was absolutely discustting tough and dry meats.
The restuarant is like a dungeon windows to one side only and little or no ventilation.
There were cock roaches in the bedrooms, restaurant toilets and the BBQ area outside.
The entertainment was very good, however they used animals and reptiles to entertain the kids.
Our bedroom was never cleaned properly and the bed sheets were not changed frequently.
We had to spend extra money on eating out, both breakfast and dinner costing approx 450 euros.
Sorry it was just a waste of money for 3 weeks 1,780 euros
We were unable to buy drinks at the bars with cash only on your room account.
The worst hotel we have ever stayed in and cannot compete with other surruonding hotels.

Room Tip: Book another hotel

We have just returned from a four night break at the La Siesta.

Booked a club Alexandra room, this was located on the second floor overlooking the pool, very clean and spacious in an excellent position for all day sun.

Booked half board (intending to eat out a couple of nights) but the food was excellent, with a vast choice - even for fussy eaters, so stayed put.

The location of the hotel is one of the best in tenerife as very central and close the beach.

We will definitely return.
