La Siesta Hotel
Reviewed 20 July 2010

Myself and partner stayed for two very enjoyable weeks in mid June.
The service was lovely the waiters even remembered our room number and our preference on drinks. The entertainment was what you'd expect at a hotel, but a well mixed schedule for kids and adults.
We paid for an upgrade before arriving to a club alexandre, which was worth everypenny. A guranteed pool view, free entry into the spa for your stay and complimenty bath essentials. I paid to have a manicure and pedicure and felt very relaxed afterwards, good value for money. We paid for a safe everyday as we did have quite a few valuables which worked out 22 euros for two weeks.
The location was ideal with a ten minute walk from the beach, across the road from two very good supermarkets (Supermarket Fany and Supermarket Miguel.) It was in the nicer and quieter part of Playa so you won't be kept awake at night by drunks and nightclubs.
There was free buses to most of the local attractions, however we hired a car through Auto Reisen, Seat Ibiza, which was very realiable. Siam is a good place for the big kid at heart. I would definantly recommened Loro Parque, an amazing aquatic park. Teide is can be a long drive if you feel unwell with the altitude sickness but definantly worth a visit.
We would definantly recommend this hotel and are already planning our return later this year.

Travelled with my husband and 2 children aged 8 and 10.
Rooms - very noisy. We were on the ground floor just off reception and you could hear everything, people coming in at night, going for breakfast etc. The rooms were clean and there were twin beds and a fold down sofa bed. Not very big though.
Pool - you do need to get up early if you want a good sunbed with shade. The pool is salt water and the kids are not permitted to play ball or have any inflatables basically not allowed to have fun!
Food - awful. Breakfast is ok as you can't go far wrong with this but lunch and dinner are very poor. We booked full board and only ate dinner once and lunch a couple of times.
Staff - found them to be rude and incompetent.
Location - great. Centrally located for some excellent restaurants in the Safari centre.
Would I go back - absolutely NOT.

just spent 10 days at La siesta. The hotel is spotlessly clean, our room was extremely spacious and comfortable. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Despite other peoples comments, We didnt have any problems finding a sun lounger , even after 9 am . There are plenty of spares available around the edges of the pool. We were half board and the food was excellent , there was plenty of choice and the quality was good. You would have to be extremely fussy eaters not to enjoy what was on offer. The hotel is very close to the beach only a few hundred metres down the road and the shops , designer or otherwise are practically on the doorstep.
We went to the dubliner and gaelic bar most nights and the music was fantastic,
If you want something a bit special go to the oriental Garden restaurant, you can choose from japanese, chinese, Thai or indian food...located across from Mare Nostrum resort on main stretch not far from La siesta.
Recommended is hiring a car - we took a citreon C3 , and travel up to teide ... another world. If you want to go to the summit it will cost you 25 euros each for the cable car . would go back to this hotel again without question.

I went to tenerife with my boyfriend and we loved this hotel although it didnt really seem to show 4*+ rating the rooms were just basic although we did get a pool view which was worth it. The food is abit boring, such as VEAL and PORK all week not really nothing for kids to eat but plenty of deserts.
hotel in Excellent location.
Definately recommended
make sure you dont pay more than 1000 for it tho.

Hi we just got back from a 10 day stay at la siesta booked last minute,we had a great time the hotel is in a great posistion near all the restaurants and bars.We are early risers and found that even at 7 in the morning people were putting out towels on sunbeds, and some people were leaving them out all night so if youre not up early youll struggle to get a sunbed. Also the lifequard is very strict we went with no kids and you will not get as much as a tennis ball in to the pool,no lilos or boats or even bucket and spade allowed you have to use the baby pool.Idid think this is right as the pool is not that big for the number of guests and there was an awful lot of kids when we went.Found our favourite meal was breakfast time there was a great selection of food also lunch was nice and quiet but the selection at dinner wasnt the greatest they had brussel sprout paella hake fish every night and i found the meat at the cooking stations not done enought. It was my birthday when there and my hubby got me a spa treatment and my hair done it was a lovely gift just a little dissapointed as our travel agent had mentioned this and i thought that they could have at least offered a glass of wine even made no difference the maid seeing my cards. There is a fantastic restaurant round the corner called suggar and spices we went there and had the best meal of the holiday not expensive but a lovely restaurant serving great food dont miss here if youre looking to eat out for a change.Overall we had a lovely holiday here and i would gladly go back again but maybe in the winter.

We stayed here for a week on full board, with my wife and granddaughter.
The room: - big enough, 2 single beds and a sofa bed. Hired the safe for 2 euro’s a day. We also hired the mini bar for 25 euro’s. This came with a selection of soft drinks, water and 2 beers, later we found out that you could pick what went into the mini bar. We then stocked it with drinks from the supermarket over the road. The view wasn’t up to much, overlooked a tennis court. You could upgrade to a pool view room with other perks for 10 euro’s per person a day.
The food was quite good; we found something we liked to eat each night. There was tea/coffee and fruit juice/water with breakfast. You had to buy drinks for lunch and dinner, 2 euro’s for a bottle of water. This was charged to the room, like the drinks at the bar. You didn’t need to wear long trousers to dinner
The hotel was quite full, and the pool area is a bit small, sun loungers were hard to find after about 9. I wake up early and was down at the pool about 7:30 and lots of beds were already claimed. I used to stay around the pool for an hour before going to breakfast. There were rules for the pool, some were ignored but others were enforced. It says you couldn’t reserve sun beds, (ignored) you couldn’t use a lillo or any other floating toy in the pool, (enforced) you couldn’t wear a t shirt in the pool (enforced)
Didn’t use the kids club, they did have pool games, during the day, and the evening entertainment was OK
We enjoyed our stay here. Staff were good
