“Overall fine and clean, however don't get robbed!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

Hotel fine, food ok, entertainment terrible!! But the hotel is in a good location so not too much of an issue... however we (2+2 kids) visited Mount Teide and went up in the cable car which is awesome, unfortunately we had our credit cards/debit cards/driving licences and all our cash stolen at some point on the trip.

On returning to the hotel and informing the reception staff of our situation and asking for help and to use the phone to report it to the bank and get some emergency money sorted, we were lied to overtly - apparently the hotel phones can't phone outside Tenerife??!! Did not believe them for one minute that that was the reason for saying 'no' to us as the reception staff then went on to aggressively question us about how we would be paying the hotel bill. They threatened to call the 'national police' on us as it was such a big problem for them. Having two kids with us too, the kids were terrified and kept asking if the police were coming to take mum and dad away. Awful and not what you need on holiday.

After politely thanking the staff for their unhelpfulness, we returned to our room only to be confronted by the Reception Manager 5 minutes later, who had come up to further question how we thought we would be paying the hotel. Purposely misunderstanding us (it was obvious, his English was perfect when it came to anything else) he went on and on about us paying our bill, when would be paying, how would we do it, how much of a problem we had created for them and how we were criminals if we didn't have the money now to pay them and confirming his staff's statement that they would call the police etc etc. This was all less than 15 minutes after returning to the hotel after the robbery!!

Never met a bunch of more inconsiderate, unhelpful, rude and threatening hotel staff. They're friendly when you're paying them and only then are you treated as a 'guest'. If you expect any help from your hotel in a real problem situation, avoid this hotel like the plague.

As it happened, we could pay for everything, had an extra card in the hotel room in case of any such emergency. Never given the chance to explain that however! Just a horrendous experience.

Recently returned from a 10 day break at Hotel Troya Adeje. We Booked through Easy jet and flew from Southend. No complaint about flights or transfers, really quick in and out of airport. Our room was Club Alexandre (Alexandre Hotels are the new owners) our room whilst not overlarge was very comfortable having a large flat screen TV(only news channels in English) mini fridge, WiFi and balcony overlooking pool and beach. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed if you left them in the bath. All in all the hotel is very clean and friendly , there was entertainment during the day and also in the evenings. As previous people have mentioned the breakfast although seemingly quite a variety it did become monotonous. Our only gripe is not having tea making facilities in our room, luckily we had a travel kettle.Would certainly visit again.

Room Tip: Club Alexandre rooms are on the higher levels above the street noise.

Strayed here with my wife few months ago. We liked the stay and got a nice price. Stayed in a regular room with a view at the ocean. The rooms were not big but clean and comfy. Our matress was a litle problem, and the hotel but a over matress so we could sleep. Food service was really good, we had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and liked it alot. We can recomend this hotel for a nice weekend off.

Just back from a relaxing week at the Troya. A nice friendly hotel right on the front at Adeje.Food not bad plenty of choice.Attentive waiters especially Ricardo who was very good at meal times. The entertainment also was good if you got a seat away from pillars.Pool was also well maintained with life guard on duty at all times.A good selection of shops near and restaurants. The A.I. drinks were very large also a good selection of cocktails. The beach was directly outside. Would go back.We also went in the Spa which we enjoyed.

Room Tip: Try to get one away from loading bay at the back as you can here bin men.

A last minute break for my 20 year old daughter and myself was an enjoyable week made all the better by the hotel. The staff were excellent, food very good, rooms nice, and location ideal for bars, restaurants, shops and beach.

We stayed in thus hotel from 12th to 19th April as a family of 4 and had 2 rooms on second floor, we arrived late on the sat night after restaurant had closed, check in was quick and we were presented with a bag of sandwiches, fruit and drinks.

We usually have a couple of holidays a year and usually go "all inclusive" I have never wrote a review before but decided that I needed to on this occasion to give future travellers some tips about this hotel.

The good points:

The hotel is clean and has excellent location, beach across the road and hotel is in the heart of bars and restaurants and at the top of the "Veronica's strip,"

The food is very nice especially breakfast but had very little variety of meats, mostly rabbit, pork and stews, I was bored with it after 3-4 days. If you like pasta, fish and salad you will very fine.

No problems getting sun beds did not have to get up early to "reserve" beds, just put towels down on way to breakfast around 9.30am.

The Bad Points:

All inclusive guests are treated like 2nd class citizens by staff, you are not allowed to eat in outside restaurant near pool, all meals have to be taken in buffet restaurant, I tried to get some chips for my teenage daughter at 1oclock and was told we had to go inside to get them although after 3.30pm when buffet restaurant was closed you could get snacks outside... Having stayed all inclusive in many hotels I found this odd... You don't always want to get dressed to go into a restaurant for lunch!.
When ordering drinks at bar the staff will favour spainish or "paying" guests first and some of them were quite rude and unhelpful.

On our last day we had to check out of our room at 12 which was fine and normal, however once we had checked out we no longer qualified for all inclusive facility and our cards were switched off. As we had not arrived untill after 10pm on our first night we felt this was a little strange and complained and were given a voucher for lunch, however as we were not being picked up untill 6.30pm we would have been left for nearly 7hours without bring able to get a drink had it not been for our friends whom we had made who were also all inclusive.

We were not given anywhere to change or shower and had to use the pool toilets which was not a pleasant experience, smelly, cold showers and full,of sand.

Entertainment non eventful in hotel, we went out at night as so much to do and see outside hotel.

In summary, hotel is nice but not 4star is well located and most of staff were friendly, but don't stay all inclusive as food is not fantastic and you are treated differently, there are so many nice bars and restaurants near by that you would be spoked for choice.

We did not let any of this spol our holiday and still had a lovely time, the Siam park is amazing. By all means stay at this hotel but don't waste your money going all inclusive.

Room Tip: Our room was at back of hotel and was very quiet but others said rooms over looking pool and beach a...

I stayed here with my children and also my sister and her children. We had the better room having booked a family room, we actually had a two room suite with twin sofa beds in one room and a king size bed in the other , with a large bathroom & 2 balconies.
My sister had booked a standard twin which had a single sofa bed also, space was very tight for them and I would not recommend this option.
The hotel was generally very clean although the floors in the bedrooms did not seem to have been swept as dust and sand accumulated during the week. We also had a strange smell from time to time in the bathroom.
We had ample storage space, a flat screen tv, hair dryer, radio & aircon.
The food was ok, although breakfast was often lukewarm. There was usually a reasonable choice in the evening although the waiters were a little slow to take away dirty plates.
The hotel is in a great location for the beach which is opposite, however at night we could also hear the loud music from the bars at Veronica's.
Towels for the pool are available, however there is a €30 deposit per towel. There are plenty of nice restaurants and bars within a short distance and I would probably return again.
