“location was perfect”
Reviewed 25 September 2012

we went with jet 2 and it was a great flight, so the holiday started well. when we got off the bus at the hotel we were greeted by a porter who then took our cases to reception and we checked in with a cold glass of champagne. the porter then took us to our rooms. the bedrooms are needing a bit of an overhaul but are very comfortable and bright. the bathrooms are spacious with double sinks. the breakfast is excellent with everything you could want. after a day or two I noticed that you could help yourself to tea and coffee which I did. the location is perfect for all shops bars and lovely restaurants within a stones throw. I believe this is the best area of tenerife and would certainly go back to this hotel.

I returned from our holiday at cleopatras palace feeling a little underwhelmed ! We had paid exta for a superior room with a balcony and plunge pool ....total waste of money ! The plunge pool never actually saw any sun the whole time we were there ...so consequently was freezing cold and if the room was superior I would have hated to have seen the standard rooms. Breakfast was appalling after 2 days we ate out for breakfast , and to be fair we did nt try the restaurant at night ...just in case the Brussels sprouts that were served at breakfast were from the night before !
The reception was a joke you waited in queues that seemed to last for ever ...one receptionist admitted to being under so much stress that she was constantly shaking, I felt very sorry for her as she was the most helpful. Definatly will not be returning.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel !

Friendly and helpful staff, Rooms clean and user friendly, and good VFM, all of which
helped to make our holiday very enjoyable. Breakfast ok but could be improved - staff appeared to be harried - a bit more table service for tea/coffee and toast would help a lot. Guaranteed vg weather of course, if a little hot at times for Sept. Would recommend.

Room Tip: We got a good discount on an exec. sweet. Friends received free upgrades-worth asking for.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Right by the beach with wonderful views if you have a sea view room. The decor is beautiful and the staff are also excellent, very friendly and helpful and all speak English and also it seemed several other languages, fluently (puts us brits to shame). The hotel is also near all the shops, restaurants and bars. But far enough away from Veronicas that you aren't disturbed.

Cleanliness and housekeeping is excellent, all rooms have a flat screen TV with several english channels and a safe that you can use free of charge. We also attended the end of summer party which is a show put on by the hotel staff, which is the best show by staff, we have every seen, it was brilliant, they put so much effort into it. This was then followed by a party by the pool with food from different countries, and a band, dancing and firweworks.

The downsides we found were that you were charged to use the fridge in the room, there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms and we found the beds to be too hard for us, but others may prefer that.

Breakfasts were a bit of a bunfight with peple queuing all over the place but there is lots of choice. We didn't rate the cooked breakfast. Scrambled eggs that seemed very strange, not tasting like egg at all (?) and very greasy, fatty bacon, horrible sausages and lots from the evening meal the night before such as vegetables, chips, potatoes. Very odd. But having said that there were other options, fresh fruit smoothies which were lovely, champagne, fruit juices, bread, toast, fruit, ham, cheese, cereals, pastries etc.

All in all we would return and we would definately recommend.

Room Tip: higher floors for the better views if sea facing. And more privacy if pool facing as the balconies a...

Just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel. We went to celebrate my 60th birthday and my partner upgraded us to a room with our own plunge pool - what more can I say, apart from I want to go back!

The room was large and spacious although the furniture could do with being updated , but I think if it hadn't been dark green in colour it probably would have looked better. The hotel in itself is stunning with the clever use of mirrors and sparkling chandeliers. Staff very friendly and attentive, and thank you for the birthday cake.

Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. We did eat in one evening but much preferred to eat out at one of the many places dotted around the hotel. We tried Mamma Mia's lovely Italian, la trattoria, a Chinese a bit further down the road and another restaurant (Argentinian) in the safari complex across the road.

The hotel provided pool towels (large) for a 15 euro deposit. It's such a fabulous place. I was truly spoilt and just didn't want to come home.

We have just come back from a 7 night stay at the Cleopatra Palace hotel. We were very disappointed by what this hotel is really like - old, deteriorated, not welcoming and extremely noisy. Although it claims it is a 4 star hotel, I have doubts if it is even a 3* - but I'll have to check that out, as I don't know what the standards are in Spain.
Our room had rust marks in the bathroom, bed lamps that were about to fall off the wall, stained curtains and a balcony door that barely closed.
In the first two days of our stay here, we slept well because we were extremely tired, but after these two days, we realized how noisy the place really was - there is a lot of loud music from the nearby restaurants and terraces (from early in the afternoon till very late at night) and, what we found even more disturbing, there is also a very loud cleaning staff. The cleaning activities inside the hotel started at about 6 AM every morning and they were far from being gentle - they included moving furniture in the free rooms and other non-sleep-friendly actions. Also, we could hear all the buses coming and going - the hotel only has 4 floors, we were on the third and we heard everything loud and clear, so my guess is there is no escape from the noise.
Breakfast was ok, there was a decent range of cold and warm food and we enjoyed the fresh orange juice and the local champagne.
The pool area was also ok - we found it to be less crowded in the afternoon. There is a reasonably large outside pool with nice warm water and two jacuzzis.
We went at their spa one of the days - we had to pay 16 euro each for access to the salted water pool, jacuzzi, wet and dry sauna. We also had access to a locker each, towels, showers and everything. Although it was a relaxing day, we had never had to pay for access to these things in any of the 4* hotels we've been to so far.
Lucky for us, we went on a few trips around the island - so we didn't spend most of our time at the hotel.
I would not go back to this hotel, as it kept us from having the nice, quiet, relaxing holiday we had hoped for.

Room Tip: I would say all the rooms are noisy.
