My partner and i checked in to this hotel and got a room on the bottom floor - we immediately were disappointed. We had requested for a pool or sea view - fair enough if they weren't available but the room we were allocated to had NO view- it was blocked by a white wall so we could not see out from our terrace. It was next door to builders working on something, noise! The bathroom had only a shower that was extremely low- perhaps suitable for those with disabilities- but not suitable for any tall person. We asked for another room and was allocated to second floor. No pool or sea view like requested but much better. It had twin double beds with sheets and an optional blanket which i found quite comfortable. a balcony over looking the town that got the sun in the evening so it was nice to sit and have a drink before dinner and the toilet had a bath/shower with toiletries. The decor was old fashioned but kind of homely. Nice flat screen tv.The room was convenient and i settled in well after the panic, and the maids did a brilliant job each day! The hotel itself appearance wise is lovely. I had read reviews of it looking dated yeah if it had some work done it would look spectacular but it looked fine and 4 star to me. Pretty plant area with a small pond by the restaurant, a nice lounge area thats good for wifi (free wifi in and around the hotel was a bonus) very spacious. The gold and cream colour of the hotel was different and nice. The lifts were a
Bit of a nuisance, waiting for them took a while and would go down before up it was weird how they worked but it was ok for us as we could walk the stairs to the 2nd floor. Location wise this hotel is perfect, a short walk from shops restaurants beaches etc. the pool area was massive, with plenty of sunbeds- it is advisable to reserve one early but only if you want a certain one near the pool or in a good area, otherwise it was easy to find one. The pool bar was great, with self service on a variety of unbranded drinks so you could make them how you like, and there was fruit and ice to add to the drinks too. snacks throughout the day like hotdogs burgers chips and toasties, ice creams too. The queues were never that long either which was great. The workers in the restaurant worked real hard all day. Through out the day the animation team worked hard too and were brilliant with adults and kids, my favourite was the foam party - they got us involved and everyone had a
Good time. The aqua fitness in the mornings was great for the women and waterpolo in the afternoon for the men. Kids club too. Never a boring moment around the pool. I thought i would feel uncomfortable in this hotel seeing as it was very big and busy but after settling in i loved it. The restaurant: breakfast was ok, the food was a
Bit luke warm and if you like food nice and hot there are microwaves available. By the time you got to the table to eat the food would be a bit cold which made it less enjoyable. However there is a variety of foods and continental options which was great and my personal favourite was the omelette which the chef made in front of you with a choice of ham cheese mushrooms and onions- yum! For dinner it was much more formal in the restaurant. Formal dress code and men had to wear long trousers. This did make the place look real smart and i liked that it was formal but it was disappointing to see that some men were in there wearing swimming shorts but others were turned away - unfair! the waiter seated you and served drinks, i had wine which came in a small vase shaped container which was good and my partner had beer which was branded. Music played and it was a nice place to be. Food wise there was plenty of variety from pastas to meat to seafood and vegetables- salads rice potatoes bread everything! However, it was the same variety everyday apart from a change in the meat that the chef cooked in front of you, being here a week we decided to eat out a couple of times as the food did get slightly repetitive. The chefs did really work hard though! The night entertainment was nice, bird shows to live music, bingo, music quiz,
Some of it was not quite to my taste and a bit boring but i am young so going to the towns and exploring was better for me and my partner. All in all i did love my stay here and the service was great especially from the animation team. I would recommend it and i would possibly come here again because i had lots of fun.
