“All Good Except for the Noise”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

Stayed here in March 2014. The apartments were exactly as expected and we were happy with the accommodation given the low cost. The apartment was a good size with adequate equipment. The cleaners were excellent and friendly as well. The pool area was fine, lots of groups of stags and hens. The main issue we had was the noise at night. Noise from other apartements, the road, the bin men and the Viking. Ruined our stay somewhat. We asked to be moved on the first day and we were told they had no other rooms. We were in Block X on the 4th floor over the dreaded Viking - particularly noisy at the weekend.

Room Tip: Bring ear plugs!

My wife, son and i stayed in the Playazul in March for 7 nights. Stayed in X Block in a two bedroomed apartment, very surprised by how big it was. Kitchen had oven, hob, filter coffee maker, toaster and plug in kettle, plenty of cups, plates, glasses etc. Lounge had dinning table with 4 chairs, 2 settees 1 had a bed underneath it, door onto balcony. Bedroom 1 had doors going out onto the same balcony. Both bedrooms were the same, two singles beds and large wardrobes both rooms had ceiling fans that worked a treat (best beds/pillows that we've had for a long time). Bathroom was a decent size as well. We had a problem with the sink plug and the shower head reported it and within 30 mins both were never repaired. TV available but you had to pay for that,we never watch tv on holiday, there was also piped music played through to your room this came from the reception(it was different to say the least). The apartment was clean but it did show signs of been dated. The swimming pool area is large and the pool itself is alright bit chilly until you get used to it, snack bar available as well. The staff were very pleasant. We were there when it was St. Patrick's Day and there was a lot of young people staying in the hotel and we never heard any noise from them or from the various bars which is quite close by.

Does what it says on the tin. Cheap accomodation about 200m from Linekers Bar, Veronicas strip and all the tat that goes with it.

Great for boys/girls parties out in the lash.

Families/couples - I would avoid like typhoid

We were staying for 6 nights in an apartment for 5 people between the end of February and the beginning of March 2014. Although we never went to bed early we couldn't hear much noise at the early hours of the night as many reviews state (this may have been because we were staying at the ground floor facing the swimming pool at the back of the building, I suggest you should ask for it when booking) It was clean, spacious, plenty of utensils- apart from the microwave but who cares- staff was very helpful, towels were changed every other day as well as the rubbish being taken out.
Amazing value for the money.
We couldn't have asked for more!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room/apartment at the back of the building facing the pool as I did so and it was quiet an...

Me and four girl friends booked an apartment that catered for 6 people. I was worried I would hate it as the price was so low (just £62 per night) and the reviews on here. We were all pleasantly surprised! Ok we were on a budget being just after Christmas but we would t have known it. The pool and surrounding area is so clean and the bar staff are so friendly. They even fed two stray kittens out if sight of the holiday makers. The food was very cheap and drinks not too bad either. A short 5min walk to the beach. €5 to hire a sunbed for the day. Room was so spacious I couldn't believe it. I requested the quietest room due to reviews about the high noise levels and we were allocated room 106 in the X block. I slept very well and didn't hear any noise from the bars nearby at all. My friend and I did get woken up by the chatter from the maids every morning outside our window but the others in the other beds didn't. There are lots if stairs, not a problem for us 25 year olds but not so good for the elderly or disabled so bear this in mind. 24 hr reception and all staff very friendly. Maids didn't really speak any English at all but luckily I speak a bit of Spanish. We ran out of toilet roll often as there were 5 of us but we simply popped to reception and they happily gave us more, please don't be silly and buy some! You have the right to be provided with loo roll! Superb location close to beach, bars and restaurants but was a nightmare getting hassled by everyone trying to get your custom, just lie and say you'll be out later, that seemed to work best. Perfect for our needs, would definitely recommend for couples, friends and families just not for the elderly.

We should have read the reviews. It was a very noisy place sometimes all night, sadly lots of drunk Brits The situation of the Apartment was near to Pubs and Clubs so I guess if you want a good place for a stag or hen visit this is the place for you.
The room was clean and tidy and the staff were as helpful as they could be. The kitchen was ok but no microwave so we ended up eating out every night, that wasn't a problem. Great place nearby for breakfast.
No Wifi but a lot of cafes gave free Wifi for customers, Internet available in reception at a cost but using their computer, extra for a safe key, extra for TV this gets to me as I consider these things as basics. The pool was very good and so was the pool bar. The Playazul is in. need of loving care and attention. Parking was on the street and we found a place near most nights. Glad to say Tenerife generally was good, but would not stay here again and definitely read trip advisor before booking.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room not facing the Sea and Clubs

We, 50s couple, stayed in Studio Z at Playazul in first week of Feb 2014. There is no access for wheelchairs pushchair and you will be faced with a succession of concrete stairs to reach the reception and then your room.

Our room was a ground floor studio apartment that was clean but had a damp smell that would not go away despite having th e patio doors open for a week. It was obvious that the room was suffering from rising damp as the paint was flaking off the walls at about a foot up around the room. Given the reasonable price for the apartment we put up with this.

What we could not put up with was the constant boom, boom, boom every night from 10pm until 7am the next morning. Sleep was impossible and it was like having a thumping headache every night.

There was no air conditioning but a large ceiling fan which did keep the room cool. You will find better TV's in your local civic amenity site. They also wanted you to pay 3 Euro a day to rent the tv controls.

There were also pickpockets and prostitutes operating right outside the hotel. We reported an attempted pickpocket who tried to steal my wallet after midnight right outside the hotel but the receptionist did not want to know and admitted they had issues with both pickpockets and prostitutes right outside the hotel.

So apart from the boom, boom, boom every night, damp smell, subterranean studio accessed by 7 flights of concrete stairs and being accosted by a pickpocket we had a great time. We would not r e commend this hotel for anyone other than youngsters who would be out each night clubbing themselves.

Room Tip: Don,t get a studio apartment and take some earplugs with you for the night time.
