“Perfect Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2011

Stayed at the Andorra from the 20th of September 2011 for a week. Arrived at 8:20 pm and were checked in within 5 minutes, Receptionist on at the time seemed a little rude but she was still working at 9 am when we went out and when we arrived back a couple of hours later so maybe this explained why she was a little snappy. We asked in advance by e-mail for a pool facing room to avoid the busy road that runs parallel to the hotel and were informed they would do there best. We were given a ground floor apartment facing the pool which was a god send due to travelling with a 5 year old. The room was spacious and clean with basic but good facility's. The Bathroom only had a shower but this wasn't a problem as made getting ready quicker. The bed's were comfortable and clean.

The maids came everyday to clean the room and make the beds and towels were changed every few days.

The pool area was very clean and we never struggled for a sunbed as i would put the towels out as soon as they were unlocked in the morning. Having a young child with us we did require a parasol everyday and only once did i have to pinch one from someone who had two for 3 sunbeds. The pool is opened from 9 until 7 and is cleaned every morning before it opens. There is a bar area that serves snacks and drinks. (Happy Hour is 1-3 monday, wednesday, friday)

We didn't eat in the restaurant area so can not comment on the food etc but did have a snack from the pool bar which i had no quarrels with and would recommend.

There is a cash point across the road and a supermarket that sells most items you might need and we got our breakfast and lunch most days (Fresh croissants, bread rolls, cheese etc) and this kept our costs down.

We ate out everynight and i would recommend the Malibu which is down and to the left from the hotel. We asked them if they would decorate a table and get in a cake for the child in our groups birthday and they did this with no problem. We had stake and it was the best stake i had on the island and the service was brilliant.

AVOID the Aberdeen stake house in Las Vistas on the sea front!! We sat down and waited at least 5 minutes before we were even asked if we would like a drink, After about 20 minutes we were asked for our orders and i asked for a "Fillet" stake in pepper corn sauce at 12 euros. We were then given bread rolls that we did not ask for but assumed they were complementary and a different waiter then asked to take our order? We explained we had ordered and he looked puzzled and walked away. They bought out the child's meal first and we assumed ours would follow. The child had eaten his long before ours arrived and this left him board whilst we tried to eat. I had one mouth full of steak before i discovered a huge bit of ?? Gristle or something flowing the length of the meat and this put me off. More bread rolls were placed on our table that we did not order and we did not touch these but assume now reading other reviews on this place that we were charged for them.

Siam park is worth a visit but be advised it is expensive. Entry is 32 euros for an adult and 21 euros for a child. There is lot's to do there as long as your over 1 meter 40 or at least 1 meter 10. The food is priced absolutely outrageously. Can of pepsi (euros) 2.20, slice of pizza 3.75, burger almost 5.

All in all would recommend Andorra as it is close to everything.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool facing room and if you have children ask for ground floor.

We have spent there just over a week as a honeymoon. We have booked B&B yet in January and asked for a sea view, if possible. Check-in was quick and easy. We have received room with a stunning view and huge terrace. The only thing which was slightly annoying, was Air con set up to 22*C and could not be set to lower temperature, oh well - we've gone to hot place. Room was specious and kitchen well equipped, with kettle. On he breakfast was choice of cold plate and continental breakfast, tasty. Staff in the restaurant was very helpful and friendly. Pool area big enough and we could eat either in or outside, by the pool. Hotel is situated 10 minutes walk from the both Las Visitas and Los Christianos beach. There is Supermercado (supermarket) just outside hotel parking, which is free if you have a car (doesn't need to be rented from a hotel). 5 min from hotel there are local and English pubs. On the last day we had our flight back at 10PM, so asked for a late check-out, but hotel was fully booked. We could leave our luggage in the store room and use pool and a bar though. Can't really fault this hotel. We were eating lunch in and out, drinks are cheap and you have snooker tables by the pool area. Room was cleaned daily and has no problem with anyone. Would come back and will recommend Andorra!

Room Tip: Higher rooms are having sea and mountain view.

We have just spent 3 wonderful weeks at the Andorra, and find it remarkable that anyone complains! Ok, there is no kettle (so bring a travel kettle!), there is no toaster (is toast really that important?), there is no entertainment (GOOD! you can get entertainment anywhere within the vicinity of the hotel if thats what you want). The apartment is perfectly fine, the maids work tirelessly and are always friendly, and the pool is fantastic.
You people need to take into account how much you pay for this holiday, and realise what value for money you are getting.

Room Tip: The pool view rooms are better, but not a necessity

My partner and I have just come back from a week at the Andorra Apartments where we had a relaxing and mostly stress free holiday.

We stayed in a 1 bed apartment, no. 306 which was west facing (good if you don't want the roasting sun first thing in the morning) and had a view to the mountains as well as the sea. Although dated, the apartment was very clean and kept to a good standard with a working fridge and hob. The beds aren't brilliant but they are comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep. The apartment also overlooked a busy walkway down to the beach as well as the main shopping street and bars which was quiet most of the day until late at night when people were coming home from a night out but wasn't too troublesome.

The hotel itself is far enough away from the action to have a relaxing stay and at the same time just a very short walk to a cheap supermarket, shopping, bars, restaurants and the beaches.

IMPORTANT: during our last couple of days there (a monday night), a handful of apartments were robbed in the same block on a variety of floors. Luckily we weren't one of them but it definitely left me feeling more than uneasy that someone could wander around the complex unchallenged. They had no problem breaking in/opening the main doors and even a safe was opening without force and a large sum of money was stolen so make sure you double lock your doors and don't put all of your money/expensive belongings in one place.

Hello, not usually one for reviewing hotels so excuse me if I don't make too much sense, just felt that Apartmentos Andorra deserved a special mention...

If you're looking to get away for a week or two, whether it be to relax or enjoy the nightlife, you cannot go wrong with this Hotel. Firstly, I hear a lot of people mention the rudeness of staff. Staff were not once unfriendly, they speak very little/basic English so I can only imagine past reviewers are mistaking this for rudeness. Rooms were fantastic for the price we paid and were cleaned every day! Okay, it's not the most fashionable decor but it's clean and you're on holiday, you're not going to be staring at the walls that much are you? Depends what you're into I guess...

Pools are lovely, never really got that busy whilst we were there so made the most of it. There was a lifeguard on every day too which might help put Parents at risk. Pool bar is quite small but a nice little place to have lunch in the shade and again, cannot fault the bar staff. Food is great too and there's usually a happy hour deal on for drinks! Sadly, there's no nightlife but apparently you can go to another hotel... You're two minutes from a bar either way you exit the Hotel so you really won't be missing out!

Was surprised at how clean and tidy the resort in general was, had massive preconceptions of it being 'scummy' but was proven wrong right away! People who complain about the minute details clearly do not understand the meaning of a holiday so don't base your holiday destination on those folk!

I went with friends mainly for the nightlife and it definitely did not disappoint. Apartmentos Andorra is about a 10-15 minute walk from the strip (Veronicas, Starco) and about a 5 minute walk to the beach in the opposite direction. Heard a lot of bad things about Hotels closer to the strip so it's probably better off booking a little further away, taxi's cost next to nothing if you don't fancy the walk!

Hope I've helped!

Room Tip: Had a roadside view and thought I would hate it but had a beautiful view of the sea and mountains of...
