“Good hotel, great location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks from the 29th of august until the 12th of September and I loved it! The hotel is situated in a great location, it's within walking distance to Los Cristanios, Las americas and the La Paz strip is right beside it. It is also very close to the best tenerife hotel where most of the bus pick up stops are for the excursions or free buses.

We stayed in the hotel section of this hotel as I was informed there was no air conditioning in the apartments. We had to book bed and breakfast to stay in the hotel and it was only self catering in the apartments. The rooms were nice and basic, we had a large balcony. There was only twim beds in each of the rooms, but they were pushed together. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were replaced as often as you required. The whole hotel was always kept very clean. The hotel rooms did not have any kettle, toaster or microwave but we wouldn't have been using them anyway! There was a built in hair dryer, wasn't very powerful but it did the job. We rented a safe for the 2 weeks which was €60 and you got €40 back when checking out.

The breakfast was similar every morning but there was something for everyone from cold meats to fruit to bread to cereal. I will admit the hot food didn't look to appealling but lots of people were eating it so it can't have been too bad. They also had a snack menu during the day with pizzas, burgers etc. The food from this was also lovely and resonably priced. I never had the buffet dinner so I cannot comment.

There was renovation works being done on the main pool when we arrived but this didn't bother us too much as there was another smaller pool beside it. When the main pool reopened, lots of people were reserving sun loungers from early morning under the umbrellas which was unfair as there was only a small number of umbrellas compared to sun loungers. You could rent a cushion for the sunlounger for €1 for the day, it beats the beach where it is €12 for two sun loungers!!!!

The staff in the andorra were all very friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff. You could book excursions through them which was very handy. You could also rent anything you wanted from fans to hair straightners to buggies.

check out time was 12 and they had a room where you could leave your luggage, late checkouts cost an extra €20 but very limited availablity.

There was no entertainment in this hotel and therefore no real families, which suited us (although we are only in our 20's), it generally was an older cliental. It was close enough to the lively spots but far away that you didn't hear the noise if you wanted an earlier night.

Just back from a 12 night stay (Aug 29th-Sept 10th). On arrival the main pool was closed and constant drilling and noise. For the first 3 days we spent our days at the beach/other apartment pools because it just wasnt possible to lie by the small pool and listen to that all day. The main pool did open for the last 2 days of our holiday. it was lovely, such a shame it wasnt open before.
Location is excellent. Its close to the safari centre with all the lovely restaurants and also a 10 min walk down to the dubliner end of the resort with a few more resonably priced resorts. Beach is about 8 mins walk but a very pleasent one.
If you are in the hotel part and have breakfast included, it is basic but definitely very edible with a good selection - although there tended to be a bit of a queue for the toasters :)
The male reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the female ones were super grumpy so avoid if possible ha.
Very cheap supermarket straight accross the road and down a little slope - cheapest one around!
They do get you to pay for literally every extra you want though. Tv (not very good channels even if you do pay for it), wifi in the roomss (although in reception is free), Safe fee. Sun bed cushions € per day (kind of nessacary as the sunbeds are very uncomfortable).
Overall, you get what you pay for and if i was returning to Tenerife and once again the price was reasonable for the andora, i would stay there again only after adding up if i were to pay for all of those extras as oposed to not having to pay for them at an alternative apartment - would it really be cheaper in the long run??

My partner and I stayed here from the 21st to the 31st August. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff on reception and in the restaurant are very friendly and welcoming ... Especially Carlos in the restaurant.
The pool was open for the 1st 4 days of our stay. There is a lifeguard on duty there who is quite strict at times. No inflatables are allowed in the pool and there is no music.
After 4 days when we got up for breakfast the pool had been closed off and for the remainder of our 10 day holiday stayed closed. There was drilling and dust all day as they re tiled the pool area. There was a small pool but the drilling and dust from the work at the other pool meant there was no way u could sit there all day either.
It is a real shame that this spoilt our holiday as this aside the andorra is a really nice hotel in a great spot.
If u do have a room with air conditioning it is set to only go as low as 22 degrees.

I recently returned from a 12 night stay in the Andorra Aparthotel and I have been left with mixed feelings about the hotel.

As we were self catering, we stayed in the apartments, which were large, very clean and spacious. There was also a good range of kitchen utensils, and a big balcony which was great!

The reception staff are helpful and friendly, and in the reception area free Wi-Fi is provided so that was a bonus.

The Andorra is perfectly situated, near all the local amenities and round the corner from the beautiful safari centre.
Now for the downside...

The hotels main poor was shut for maintenance, and we were woken by drilling every morning at 8am. This was really annoying, plus the fact in meant this pool wasn't in use, which meant everyone had to use the small pool. There is no music allowed at the pool which meant when you're sunbathing all you can hear is the sound of drilling going on.

The hotel itself has no atmosphere whatsoever. They have no hotel entertainment, this didn't bother us but they didn't even have a bar open at night, it all just felt a bit depressing.

Overall the hotel is excellently situated and very clean, however if you are looking for a hotel with a bit of atmosphere, the Andorra is not got you.

just returned from a holiday at the Andorra I have to say this is my first negative review we were given a room on the top floor it had no balcony it was the terrace from the stairs the first day we found cockroaches in the room I complained and on returning from the beach I found a can spray in the room for me to spray that is not good the hotel should have done that. with there being no balcony there was no rack to dry our swimming gear we had to dry it on the terrace the trouble with that was there were a lot of birds on the roof that like to poo on them we even had one of them fly in the room, the tiles on the floor could have done with a good grout clean. as for the food it was terrible I could not eat very much you did not know what you were eating and there was not much variety will never return to this hotel

Room Tip: don't ask for top floor rooms
