“The Andorra aparthotel Tenerife”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

This is the 4th time we have stayed here we have stayed in both sides of the apartments
the side not in the hotel i would say is better equiped for self catering as the kitchen has a better cooker with oven and grill in hotel side you only get 3 rings on cooker the rooms are clean and tidy very comfy beds .this is a lovely quiet place to stay near the strip where you have great nightlife and close enough to the beach .the pools are great the water most times is cold although they do say 1 pool is heated .they also have a good poolside bar with happy hours but only twice a week and only during the afternoon.the downside to the andorra is no entertainment at night .but as i said lots of entertainment outside .a nice selection of food for breakfast for about 5 euros if you are paying good value for money .lovely maids keeping the place clean and tidy and the staff are all very pleasant and helpful .if you choose here enjoy your stay .

Room Tip: we picked an end room on the 3rd floor this had a huge balcony which we found superb but i think mos...

excellent - very central location near to shops, bars, beach. we stayed in the newer aparthotel that has double glazing and we had breakfast thrown in for free. very quiet apartments so wouldnt suit large groups or familys who like kids clubs and entertainment. they are 3 minutes walk from the strip so all kinds of entertainment could be had there at night. would go back if price is right. also an added bonus was the air con as even in september tenerife is very hot and you need this at night.

Room Tip: request a pool view - we did and were lucky to get one - if you dont ask you dont get

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, the apartments are nice and clean although there is no air con and the beds just make you sweat even more in the heat! I would reconmend doing a room only option or bed and breakfast as the food was just awful! no selection and same thing most nights! the pool is very quiet so if your looking for a lively hotel then this isnt for you!! location was brilliant as you was near everything in the heart of playa de las americas.. but would not recommend going to the Veronica Strip!!

Location is perfect for a couple or family as you're smack bang in between los cristianos and Veronica's. It's quiet but shops and restaurants are only 5 minutes away. The food was pretty bad, there was a continental and fry buffet, but the quality of the food was poor, the selection wasn't great and menu was exactly the same every day. The pool was grand for a dip after the sun, however pool space was a premium, people were queuing to put out their towels on beds as soon as the pool area opened at 9 (in spite of the signs that said reservation of beds was prohibited). I'd imagine the pool area would be quite full during peak season. There was a bar near the pool but there was no music playing or entertainment in the evenings. Rooms were cleaned daily and entire hotel was kept clean. All in all its a grand hotel for a couple or family to use as a base whilst on holiday in Tenerife, make sure and only go b&b though!

Really enjoyed our stay, I went with a friend at the beginning of July (both 18). The hotel gave us exactly what we were looking for, clean, friendly and everything that was promised in the description. Free wifi in the reception area and only 5€ taxi from Veronica's strip. Was great!!
Took us a while to work out the best ways to the beach and shops, but it's dead easy and quick really! There was a big supermarket just down the road which was great for cheap food and water, found the assistants in the small shop situated at the back of the hotel to be very unhelpful and very unfriendly.

Was quite a few reviews about it being noisy and unable to sleep- however, we didn't have any problem (mainly because we were getting in late and sleeping heavily) .
Well linked to Siam Park, bus stop for the free bus just down the road. Defiantly recommend the park, well worth the visit, good day out!

Overall defiantly recommend it. Good value- get what you pay for :)

I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks from the 29th of august until the 12th of September and I loved it! The hotel is situated in a great location, it's within walking distance to Los Cristanios, Las americas and the La Paz strip is right beside it. It is also very close to the best tenerife hotel where most of the bus pick up stops are for the excursions or free buses.

We stayed in the hotel section of this hotel as I was informed there was no air conditioning in the apartments. We had to book bed and breakfast to stay in the hotel and it was only self catering in the apartments. The rooms were nice and basic, we had a large balcony. There was only twim beds in each of the rooms, but they were pushed together. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were replaced as often as you required. The whole hotel was always kept very clean. The hotel rooms did not have any kettle, toaster or microwave but we wouldn't have been using them anyway! There was a built in hair dryer, wasn't very powerful but it did the job. We rented a safe for the 2 weeks which was €60 and you got €40 back when checking out.

The breakfast was similar every morning but there was something for everyone from cold meats to fruit to bread to cereal. I will admit the hot food didn't look to appealling but lots of people were eating it so it can't have been too bad. They also had a snack menu during the day with pizzas, burgers etc. The food from this was also lovely and resonably priced. I never had the buffet dinner so I cannot comment.

There was renovation works being done on the main pool when we arrived but this didn't bother us too much as there was another smaller pool beside it. When the main pool reopened, lots of people were reserving sun loungers from early morning under the umbrellas which was unfair as there was only a small number of umbrellas compared to sun loungers. You could rent a cushion for the sunlounger for €1 for the day, it beats the beach where it is €12 for two sun loungers!!!!

The staff in the andorra were all very friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff. You could book excursions through them which was very handy. You could also rent anything you wanted from fans to hair straightners to buggies.

check out time was 12 and they had a room where you could leave your luggage, late checkouts cost an extra €20 but very limited availablity.

There was no entertainment in this hotel and therefore no real families, which suited us (although we are only in our 20's), it generally was an older cliental. It was close enough to the lively spots but far away that you didn't hear the noise if you wanted an earlier night.

Just back from a 12 night stay (Aug 29th-Sept 10th). On arrival the main pool was closed and constant drilling and noise. For the first 3 days we spent our days at the beach/other apartment pools because it just wasnt possible to lie by the small pool and listen to that all day. The main pool did open for the last 2 days of our holiday. it was lovely, such a shame it wasnt open before.
Location is excellent. Its close to the safari centre with all the lovely restaurants and also a 10 min walk down to the dubliner end of the resort with a few more resonably priced resorts. Beach is about 8 mins walk but a very pleasent one.
If you are in the hotel part and have breakfast included, it is basic but definitely very edible with a good selection - although there tended to be a bit of a queue for the toasters :)
The male reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the female ones were super grumpy so avoid if possible ha.
Very cheap supermarket straight accross the road and down a little slope - cheapest one around!
They do get you to pay for literally every extra you want though. Tv (not very good channels even if you do pay for it), wifi in the roomss (although in reception is free), Safe fee. Sun bed cushions € per day (kind of nessacary as the sunbeds are very uncomfortable).
Overall, you get what you pay for and if i was returning to Tenerife and once again the price was reasonable for the andora, i would stay there again only after adding up if i were to pay for all of those extras as oposed to not having to pay for them at an alternative apartment - would it really be cheaper in the long run??
