This was one of the best excursions we ever had. We got to see the Dolphins and Pilot Whales, some of which were very close and managed to get some great photo's!!!

We did opt for the VIP area and were first on the boat. The staff were great, the boat was clean and tidy.

The food was basic, but we were expecting that. We didnt know about the photo's and video's that were for sale, but we bought them anyway as the trip was so good.

Highly recommended :-)

We booked the 4.5hr trip for our party of 2 adults and two young teen girls.

Pick up by the transfer bus was early but we there anyway and they waited until the allotted time before carrying on. It was a bit of a resort tour with many pick-ups and the bus was full to capacity.
At the marina we had a short time to wait for our boat to return from the early trip, offload and let us board.
We hadn't realised the company had a number of boats, we thought we were going on Freebird One. We were actually on F13. No big deal it was fine. Nice tidy catamaran.
While queuing I googled some more info and found out about "upgrading" to the loungers at the front of the boat for E20 so we made a beeline for that area.
On boarding we were again queued up to have photos taken that were presented for sale later on in the trip. There must be a printer on board.
We got the last lounger, more like a big double mattress, which was a squeeze for 4 of us but the girls spent a lot of the time wandering about anyway.
The first phase of the trip was all about getting northward towards Los Gigantes and the swim stop and lunch.
The swim was in a busy bay under the cliffs so we couldn't stray far from the boat. It wasn't rough but there was a gentle swell that some people struggled with. I wouldn't have recommend the swim for weak swimmers. It was an opportunity to cool off if nothing else, the weather had been hot.
Lunch was basic but adequate. We got offered seconds. Unlimited soft drinks and beer all day and a glass of Sangria towards the end of the trip.
The toilets seemed to cause most trouble. If you aren't familiar with a marine "head" it can easily go wrong!!

Phase 2 was about dolphin and whale spotting. We had a nice encounter with small pod of Dolphins with plenty of opportunities for everyone to get a look and take pictures.
Then we moved on to a Whale encounter. Just Pilot whales as usual though I believe that Orcas are seen at certain times and other whale species migrate through the area too.
The whole trip was filmed by a freelance videographer who, as other reviewers say, is a better source of info on the whole experience than the actual guide, who was bogged down in too many languages.
The video cost E29, which we initially turned down but then decided to buy it. She'd been very nice and helpful and wasn't pushy at all.
The journey back to the harbour was fairly quick and we were back on the transfer bus with minimal fuss.

All in it was a good trip. I recommend it even for a lazy day. It was quite calm with hot weather on our trip. Only saw one passenger being ill. We needed no clothing over our swimsuits, just sunscreen the whole day.
It can get choppy out there though. One day we saw a different boat pitching and rolling as it passed by Los Cristianos. Check the weather before you book!

We booked through a small independent agency in Las Americas that we have used for years for all our money exchanging. They seemed to get a good price for us.

Great trip out where we saw whales but no dolphins. Beer, wine and food included. Only let down was costing 20 euro more just to lie on the beds on the front nets. Could also do with some floats and snorkel equipment when stopping to swim. Can only tread water for so long.

Just come back from this trip. We did spoil ourselves and paid for VIP. This consisted of our own sunbed, towel, waiter service and best of all being at the front of the Catamaran. So glad we upgraded as we have front row seats of the whales which were so close to us. Staff very friendly and informative , food was nice and drinks were offered numerous times. We stopped for a swim which was great fun jumping off the catamaran. Really a relaxing trip and amazing views of the island and managed to see lots of whales - highly recommend !!!

We holiday a lot in teneriffe but this is the first time we have booked via our hotel the freebird catamaran excursion. We were picked up albeit a little later than advertised via free transfer on air conditioned coach with a few more collections on the way ( to be expected )
We arrived at Port in a timely manner and waited a short time under a cover to protect from sun along quayside ( very we thought out )
In no time at all the fleet of 3 boats arrived from am excursion with previous customers getting off so we could embark.
The crew are extremely organised as I should know as myself hold a level 1 day skipper qualification.
As we headed out the harbour the cool breeze help to bring the teneriffe temperatures to a very comfortable level and having children with us we chose to sit under shaded area on boat , there is also a net VIP area at front with small extra charge.
The complimentary drinks were in good supply in the from of soft drinks selection , cool beer wine and suchlike.
The food was plentiful and nice with chicken mix salads and bread this was hand to you but once everyone had there fill they allowed you to help yourself to second serving if you wish .
Ice creams are available at extra cost .
Later we anchored in sheltered bay allowing for a swim , again very well organised with no swimming other than at rear of boat under carful watch from crew ( no jumping off the roof of boat ect )
The onto dolphin and whales, we managed to see plenty of both and this company offers another free booking if you don't see any on the trip.
We recommend this company to anyone wishing to try of all ages , we ourselves have two children 11 & 5 and it was very suitable.
Not wishing to sound rude or a prude but the last thing we wished for was a beer fuelled booze cruise .
10 or of 10 to freebird
We will most definitely be seeing you again.
