We stayed at owlswood during hurricane desmond. the worst weather in a very long time could not mar our stay. the house is great , loads of room and beautifully furnished. Thank goodness for the fantastic wood burning stove that kept us cosy whilst the wind and rain did their worst. Karen and Phil made sure that all was well and nothing was too much bother. Would we stay here again ? In a heartbeat.

We stayed for 1 week in Aug. Karen and Phil were absolutely lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful. Owlswood is amazing, a beautifully furnished and decorated property in a lovely little village. We had a fantastic time with the kids, everything we wanted and needed and will definitely go back again. Skye is amazing, if you haven't been go! And stay at Owlswood you'll not regret it. Thank you Karen and Phil for a lovely holiday, Martyn, Davina and kids.

“Gorgeous cottage - immaculate with all the amenities”

Thank you Karen and Phil for a wonderful stay at your fabulous cottage. I don't normally write reviews but I was compelled to on this occasion as I had to share our experience of this wonderful haven in Skye.
We were a party of 6 - 2 couples with 2 babies! The house was safe and clean for our 1 year old little ones and Karen even presented us with a brand new high chair for stay!
I cannot rave about the house enough, recently renovated to the highest standard with all the amenities you could ask for. Phil even provided us with charcoal for the barbecue and fire for the stove.
Edinbane is a lovely tranquil village with the bonus of 2 pubs in walking distance and a park for children. It is centrally located for travel to Dunvegan and Portree. Dunvegan is only 10 mins drive away where there is a grocery store with a surprising amount of produce and of course the castle with its gardens and views over the loch which is a must.
Also don't miss Neist point which is one of the most magical places I've been.
I have always wanted to visit Skye and I was not disappointed.

“Luxurious place to stay in North Skye”
Reviewed 5 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Owlswood is well designed and very easy to be on holiday in, with great facilities (excellent bathrooms, all-important laundry room, fully equipped kitchen) and very comfortable bedrooms and lounge. We were staying with three children and we felt very welcome and found the home easy to live in with them.

“Outstanding accommodation very centrally located for visiting all the major sights in Skye.”
Reviewed 19 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Accommodation is superb. The rooms and all of the fixtures and fittings are of a standard normally seen in a top international hotel. The owners made us very welcome and I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation. Thanks Karen and Phil for making our first visit to Skye so enjoyable. Good value for your money.

“Wow! A stunning property. Clean, comfortable, warm, bright, perfect.”
Reviewed 10 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Having never visited Skye before I looked long and hard for location, type of property, amenities etc but once I saw Owlswood my mind was made up. It's perfectly situated on the island. Close to Portree (where you can get your food/essentials) you can get to the Trotternish peninsula easily (Mealt Falls, Staffin Beach, The Quiraing, Uig), the Waternish Peninisula (Stein and Ardmore Point), and Duernish for Neist Point Lighthouse). Dunvegan is close and the road takes you down to the Minginish peninsula (Fairy Pools, Glenbrittle, Carbost, Tallisker Distillery, Eynort). Even the southern parts of the island aren't too far and the Cuillins and the drive to Elgol are worth the effort.

Owlswood itself is immaculately presented and the attention to detail is superb. Phil and Karen have done an amazing job. Everything has been finished to a really high standard and it's immediately evident when you walk through the door. The house is homely, cosy and very well furnished. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook for yourselves (plus dishwasher for cleaning up afterwards!), the lounge has comfy sofas, a huge TV and a wonderful log burner (which we used just once - it's fair to say that we didn't have the best weather this week). We had no problems with the internet but no Vodafone signal (great - no phone calls, total peace). There were only two of us so we only used the Master bedroom but the bed was very, very comfortable and the large walk in shower in the Ensuite was a real treat. The other two bedrooms are also very well furnished and the Family bathroom is immaculate, with both a bath and a large walk in shower.

Outside, there is ample room for parking and plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax. A large BBQ, plenty of seating and views into the woodland at the back of the property. I understand that Phil is going to build a small bridge over the stream and provide a large decking area just in front of the woodland (it's a bluebell wood too - they were all out in their glory when we were there) - I'm sure this will look amazing and be a great addition to an already fabulous property.

Edinbane itself is a lovely quiet village. There are two pubs - we only visited the Edinbane Inn, a two minute walk away. Fabulous food, fabulous service and very friendly staff. Live music on some nights too. Great atmosphere.

Would we come back to Owlswood? Most definitely - we felt so at home here, especially during the rainy periods when we just stayed indoors and made ourselves comfortable. A five start property any day of the week!
