This property exceeded all of our expectations!! From making our reservations to a call after check-out reminding me of a forgotten package, the Mansion staff effortlessly attended to our every want & need. Our cottage overlooking the river was exactly what we hoped for...rustic w/antiques, but with the modern amenities we are accustomed to (Cable TV, Kuerig coffee maker, central heat & air, wonderful bed linens , and thick, soft towels). Breakfast was delicious, hot and an excellent variety of choices.....quiche, link sausage, bacon, hash browns, an assortment of pastries & muffins, hot oatmeal, cereals, numerous fruit options, juices & fresh hot coffee! Yum!!!! The property is beautifully landscaped and centrally located to all of Gruene. We walked to our evening meals and daytime shopping. We will absolutely be back!

We stayed at this inn last weekend for a birthday celebration that I coordinated. We had the Carriage House for my son, daughter in-law and granddaughter and the Grand River Lodge for husband, mother and myself. You feel like you are staying in your great grandmother's house (only furnished better). The rooms are lovely. The river rooms have a large porch that looks out over the river which is great. The breakfast is a great with everything that you could want and plenty of seating inside and out. The front desk was very helpful on giving directions or anything else that you would want. I would highly recommend this hotel because it is also within walking distance to anywhere you would want to go in Gruene.

Room Tip: If you are not traveling with children (because they don't allow them in the river rooms) choose...

Just be very aware that the pictures of the rooms on the site are a total
crock. Look carefully at the rooms. Pictures taken with a fish-eye lens to make rooms look twice as big. The room was dark, depressing and filled with junk. There are refurbished antiques and then there is junk and this room was filled with junk. There is nothing to do in the area unless you like the water park. You can smoke at Gristmill so that was out. Other eating places hot though maybe there was a little ac. The whole area looked like was about to fall down. What people see in Gruene Texas is beyond me. You want a nice vacation? Don't even think about it. We packed up and left so can't ans questions about sleep etc.

Room Tip: Skip all of it

The Gruene ( pronounced " Green" )Inn is a beautiful old hotel directly next door to the Gruene Dance Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas. We stayed two nights and heard Dwight Yokam and Jerry Jeff Walker at the dance hall. The Inn is a step back in time and has several other rental buildings on the property. Gruene is a very unique little town and has lots of nice stores and places to eat. We would love to go back.
The Dance Hall is worth the trip in it's self. Music every night and lots of big name country stars.

Room Tip: no elevator so be prepared for some steps.

I have been to Gruene several times but had never stayed at the Mansion. My birthday was coming up and my husband wanted to do something special, so I decided to book us here for 3 nights. It was wonderful. Walking distance to everything, live music and food. The breakfast was enormous and if you went away hungry it was your own fault. We had a room that was so cute. The porch had rockers and overlooked the river. Best birthday by far!!! I will definently be back.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room that overlooks the river!

I surprised my boyfriend with a stay at Gruene mansion Inn for his birthday. We come to Gruene fairly regularly for dinner or tubing, but have never stayed overnight at GMI until now.

I reserved the Hayloft (with a river view) and it was perfect. It has a pair of rocking chairs on a private porch overlooking the water, a queen bed upstairs, a small but nice bathroom, and a living area with comfy chairs.

We walked to Gruene River Grill twice during our stay, and the food was delicious.

We had fun tubing on the Comal the first day, and tried to go to Schlittebqhn the second day, but it was too crowded for us, so we just got in the Guadalupe to cool off. The Guadalupe was running too slow to tube, but that didn't spoil our fun.

The Gruene Mansion Inn is perfectly located, so you can walk to restaurants, shopping, tubing and Gruene Hall. There is live music day and night on the weekends. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and I can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: The river view rooms are awesome

We stayed in one of the river view rooms. Relaxed on the porch overlooking the river and enjoyed strolling the historic grounds. The main house is beautiful and served up a hearty breakfast to enjoy indoors or out on the porch/patio. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is in the heart of Gruene Texas within walking distance to shops, restaurants, wineries, tubing, and of course Gruene Hall!

Room Tip: The river view rooms are very private and provide a nice view of the river from the porch.
